After this interlude, Yi Tianyun continued toward Demon Cloud Island. He hadn’t expected to run into people from the Celestial Extreme Mansion on the way; it seemed like a stroke of fate.

Fate was an unpredictable thing, but it was just so coincidental to meet them in this vast ocean. However, even if they weren’t from the Celestial Extreme Mansion, he would have helped them all the same. He might not be a saint, but at least he knew right from wrong.

"Ding! Successfully completed the ’Saving a life is better than building a seven-story pagoda’ achievement. Obtained the beginner title: Savior. Permanently increased Merit Value by 200 points!"

A message suddenly popped up, stunning him. He hadn’t expected to complete a hidden achievement just by saving them! These titles didn’t need to be equipped; their effects all stacked, meaning he instantly gained two hundred Merit Value points!

’I can’t believe I completed the Savior achievement. It must have added the villagers I saved before to the people from just now to meet the requirement.’

Yi Tianyun smiled. Unlike the Guardian title, this one increased his Merit Value. He also noticed it was a beginner title, meaning he could keep strengthening it by saving more people. The Guardian title, however, couldn’t be upgraded any further.

If he kept stacking it, it would surely reach a terrifying number. The Merit Value, in particular, was a huge help to him right now.

’My success rate for Forging Soul Artifacts was less than ten percent before, but now it’s shot up to twenty percent! Add the Luck Aura on top of that, and it should reach a fifty percent chance!’ Yi Tianyun was overjoyed. However, he didn’t plan on trying it now. He didn’t have any materials, so activating the Luck Aura would be pointless and just a waste of Madness Value.

Although a two-hundred-point increase in Merit Value gave him a ten percent boost to his success rate, that was only for the early stages. Later on, it would become progressively harder; even getting a five percent increase would be extremely difficult. Still, a fifty percent success rate was already astounding. At least it wasn’t like the previous ten-percent chance, which was truly terrifying.

’Am I almost there...?’ Yi Tianyun wondered as he checked the Star Disc in his hand. Judging from the route, he was just about to reach Demon Cloud Island.

After traveling a bit further, Demon Cloud Island finally came into view. He didn’t need any introduction; he knew it was Demon Cloud Island on sight.

Demon Cloud Island, as its name suggested, was an island with a mass of black clouds hanging over it. Lightning seemed to flicker within the clouds, looking as if a bolt could strike down from the sky at any moment. And in fact, lightning really did strike at random. If one were hit, even a Core Formation Stage Cultivator would be killed.

The black clouds didn’t cover a large area, just enough to envelop the entire island. The island itself wasn’t huge, but it wasn’t small either—it was about the size of a large city.

’So this is Demon Cloud Island. It looks pretty damn eerie.’

Yi Tianyun squinted and saw hordes of Demon Beasts milling about. But these Demon Beasts had crawled out from the depths of the ocean; they were all Sea Demons. There were giant octopuses, giant sea sharks, and even giant Sea Bulls!

Their massive bodies moved about on Demon Cloud Island, circling it layer by layer as if protecting something, which looked extremely strange. Their cultivation levels ranged from the Spirit Refining Stage to the Core Formation Stage. The weakest were at the fourth or fifth level of the Spirit Refining Stage, while the strongest reached the seventh or eighth level of the Core Formation Stage. A single glance revealed there were several hundred of them!

They were all circling the perimeter of Demon Cloud Island, which was obviously very strange behavior. Normally they lived underwater, but now they had all crawled ashore, undoubtedly exposing their weaknesses.

Underwater, their power would double, and they could use the environmental advantage to easily kill humans. But on land, it was a different story; their advantage was gone. Still, with their formidable cultivation, few Cultivators would dare to fight them even out of the water.

Besides Yi Tianyun, there were no other Cultivators nearby. This place was so dangerous that not just anyone could reach it, and certainly not everyone could arrive riding a Black Dragon like Yi Tianyun.

Riding the Black Dragon, Yi Tianyun dove straight down. In that instant, he pushed his power to its absolute peak!

"Dragon God Bloodline, activate!"

He stacked everything he possibly could. As he dove, man and dragon seemed to merge into one, their power surging to the absolute limit!

When the Demon Beasts surrounding Demon Cloud Island sensed the power from above, they all looked up. Seeing Yi Tianyun charging down, they immediately prepared for battle, but with their strength, how could they possibly withstand his immense power?

BOOM!

Man and dragon crashed down with a deafening roar, sending many Demon Beasts flying. The Black Dragon swung its Sharp Claws and viciously tore into a nearby Demon Beast, which was ripped apart as easily as a thin sheet of paper.

Wielding the Chaotic Celestial Saint Axe, Yi Tianyun was even more devastating, cutting down the Demon Beasts as easily as slicing vegetables. One swing, one kill. With a fierce sweep, his axe would instantly split a Demon Beast in two.

"Ding! Successfully killed Giant Octopus. Obtained 200,000 Experience, 4,000 Madness Value. Obtained item: Octopus Tentacle (Consuming increases Strength by 2x for a short time)!"

With a nineteen-fold experience multiplier and a double Madness Value modifier, the numbers skyrocketed. Yi Tianyun focused on killing the higher-level Demon Beasts, while the Black Dragon hunted the weaker ones. Man and beast went on a rampage, their experience points shot up crazily, and a steady stream of good loot dropped, continuously filling up their inventory.

The Demon Beasts, for their part, showed no fear of death and charged at them maniacally. This suited Yi Tianyun’s plans perfectly. He had come here specifically to hunt these Demon Beasts continuously, not to waste time searching for them all over the place.

His Experience Cards would only last for an hour at most; after that, they’d be gone.
