Chapter 1148 - 819: The Effects of the Phoenix Potion
The process of persuading the Zouwu was very smooth. Kael just asked a question and promised to provide jerky every day, and Shaqiel leapt onto his shoulder without any hesitation, the whole process flowing seamlessly without a single pause.
Professor Rockneil, watching from behind, found the corners of his mouth twitching,
Although he had already agreed, he still felt a bit stifled seeing this scene, even if Shaqiel had hesitated for a moment... Anyone who didn’t know might think it was raised by Kael.
So, Professor Rockneil simply shut the door, choosing out of sight, out of mind.
On the other side, Kael, having gained a new partner, happily returned to the Magic Fountain, where he found Conna sitting by the fountain, incessantly writing something.
"What are you writing?" he walked over and asked.
"Some potentially useful Magic Potion combinations." Conna put away the parchment, "Have you finished talking?"
"Yes." Kael involuntarily smiled, "I must say, this has been quite a meaningful experience."
He briefly recounted the events of the afternoon, leaving Conna quite surprised.
"That’s a Zouwu, a rare Fantastic Beast unique to France, and they’re just lending it to you?"
"Lending it to me." Kael corrected, "I’ll have to return it afterward."
"That’s still quite astonishing." Conna said, "Though I haven’t been in France for long, I’ve heard about the status of the Zouwu here... The bar next to Gringotts is named Zouwu Bar.
"But these Fantastic Beasts only appear in the Ministry of Magic, and ordinary Wizards are prohibited from keeping them. It seems that this Professor Rockneil is quite remarkable."
"Indeed," Kael said, "Without real skills, it’s unlikely he’d be invited by those from the Romanian Fire Dragon Reserve."
"The Fire Dragon Reserve?"
"Ah, that was a few years ago." Kael explained, "Before the start of our fourth year, it was also the first time I met Professor Rockneil." Kael mentioned casually.
Conna nodded and walked with Kael towards the dining hall.
Dinner wasn’t as extravagant and formal as the first day, but it was still quite sumptuous.
"As expected of France." Conna said, taking a bite of beef wrapped in bread, "Even if it’s just beef steak, it tastes better than at Hogwarts. I’ve gained weight in just two days."
Kael stared at his plate, choosing not to speak or express any opinions... as if he hadn’t heard anything.
Preoccupied with other thoughts, he didn’t stay long, quickly eating a few ham sandwiches before jogging over to the Alchemy Classroom entrance.
Since the classes over the past two days were postponed and today was Saturday, the corridor in front of the Alchemy Classroom was completely empty.
When Kael arrived, the door was still locked, with a light flickering red on it, identical to how it was three days ago when he left.
Not knowing the exact time, Kael didn’t return but leaned against the railing, taking out a book to read.
Time slowly passed, and the sounds of playful frolicking grew smaller and eventually disappeared altogether. The Alchemy Elevator also stopped operating.
The empty corridor quickly plunged into an eerie silence, with only the whooshing sound of the wind and the faint tick-tock sound accompanying the flashing red light on the wall.
Kael closed his book and glanced at the time.
Without realizing it, it was already eleven o’clock at night.
No wonder it was so quiet, after all, even at Beauxbatons, it’s unlikely to allow students to roam the school at this hour.
Kael stretched his somewhat stiff arm and looked again at the door to the Alchemy Classroom... still closed.
Perhaps Professor Viktor meant it would take three days, rather than being completed by the third day,
Kael thought.
Just as he hesitated whether to go back and return in the morning, the door suddenly opened from the inside.
Professor Viktor walked out.
"You’re here, I was just wondering whether I should call you." His voice was a bit weak.
Three consecutive days of work, even with the support of Magic Power, was certainly taxing, but judging by Professor Viktor’s appearance, he seemed accustomed to such work.
"Would you like to eat something first?" Kael asked.
"No rush, it’s just three days. The previously consumed Vitality Potion was enough." Viktor waved his hand, "Come inside. You still have a lot to do."
Kael followed him into the classroom, and as soon as they entered, Viktor grabbed a golden pocket watch from the table and placed it into Kael’s hand.
The cracks on it had all disappeared, and its originally dim color had been restored.
"I fixed the framework of the Magic Text, which took a little more time." Viktor removed the unique glove and carefully placed it inside a metal box, then put his Long-Tube Glasses on the table.
"When you give it to Nicolas, it should save some time."
"Thank you," Kael said sincerely.
"No need," Viktor waved his hand, "Since the item was sent to me, it means someone wants my help, I can’t just ignore it.
"Besides, Albus is one of the few Masters of Alchemy left today. It’s a bit of a shame for him to be lost to time."
Just as Kael was about to say something, Viktor shook his head and said:
"Alright, I discovered some interesting things while repairing the Time Turner that require some study. You should head back and see Nicolas tomorrow."
