Chapter 1074 - 794: Fawkes’s Perch (Part 2)
Seeing Kael agree, Chris let out a long sigh of relief and gave Kael a begrudging look.
He actually didn’t want Kael to develop that kind of bloodthirsty habit. Thinking about it carefully, almost every Death Eater they encountered in the past few years around Kael ended up losing a few lives.
It started with the Triwizard Tournament, where Kael killed a Death Eater with the Fiendfyre Curse for the first time. Later, when he and Cedric were clearing out Dementors, they killed two more.
Then there were the Death Eaters in the Hogwarts tower recently, and the werewolves in the Dark Forest, all the way to Godric’s Hollow... It’s safe to say that Death Eaters have a higher survival rate when meeting Dumbledore than when they meet Kael.
Chris was very worried that continuing this way would lead Kael to be consumed by the negative emotions brought about by the killings, ultimately turning into a Dark Wizard like Voldemort.
But he just couldn’t say anything.
Because even though Kael had killed so many Death Eaters, the magic power in him remained as pure as ever, a situation which made his earlier thoughts untenable.
This made Chris a little awkward; he looked at Kael, shook his head helplessly, and then followed Kingsley and the others out of the square.
Inside the house, Ron was having a small celebration with the Weasley Brothers, launching a few of the leftover wedding confetti cannons in the dining room.
They didn’t need to consider much, their thoughts were very straightforward: as long as the Death Eaters suffered, they were happy. The greater the casualties, the more there was to celebrate.
Even though they didn’t know what happened in Godric’s Hollow, that didn’t matter. What mattered was that the Death Eaters suffered severe losses. This was a great victory for the Order of Phoenix.
If conditions allowed, they would even hold a grand celebration party.
"Fred, George!" Mrs. Weasley looked at the streamers all over the place, her temples throbbing in anger.
"Can you be a bit quieter?" she shouted, "I leave for just a moment and the whole dining room turns into a mess!"
"It’s just a few streamers, not as exaggerated as you say." Fred waved his wand, and the surrounding streamers were immediately whisked away by a gust of wind.
"See, isn’t it clean now?"
"What I mean is, you should be a bit more composed, even if you can’t be a role model for your younger siblings, at least don’t lead them astray."
"Us? Lead Ron astray?" Fred pointed to himself and George, then turned his head to look at Ron, "I think he’s more excited than us."
"Yeah." George nodded, "He set off more confetti cannons by himself than all of us combined."
"I remember he set off five."
"Each of us had two."
"Ginny had one..."
"So half the streamers in this room are his doing."
Fred and George sang in harmony, while Ron, blushing red, watched them with a stunned expression.
"Weren’t all those streamers you gave me?"
"We just asked you to hold them. When did we ever say you could set them off!" George argued confidently.
Ron was suddenly dumbfounded, stammering out nothing to say. He looked to Hermione beside him for help, but Hermione had disagreed with any celebration from the start, and naturally wouldn’t help him now.
"Enough." Luckily at this moment, Mrs. Weasley interrupted the chattering Fred and George, "Now, go to your rooms and sleep immediately."
Ron immediately dashed out.
The Weasley Brothers also reluctantly closed their mouths, unwillingly heading back to their rooms, whispering something as they went... The gist was that Mrs. Weasley was being unfair, only blaming the two of them.
Mrs. Weasley ignored these complaints, because although she didn’t know the truth, she knew Fred and George, and scolding them was usually correct.
"And you guys, it’s time for bed too." she said to the remaining people, "Kael, do you need me to make an extra perch for the Phoenix? But the resources are limited here, only firewood."
"Ah, no need." Kael shook his head.
Just like people are accustomed to sleeping in beds, phoenixes prefer to stay on perches, and the more precious the wood, the more comfortable they are, like the one in the Hogwarts Headmaster’s Office.
Kael remembered that perch was golden, not because of any added decoration but because it was inherently gold, like solidified Felix Felici under the sun.
Although Kael didn’t have such fine materials, he had an entire forest in his suitcase, and Fawkes surely felt more comfortable living there than on a single branch...
However, Mrs. Weasley’s words also reminded Kael that if he found suitable materials, he could attempt to make a perch for Fawkes.
Kael pondered this as he walked out of the kitchen.
"Kael."
At the staircase, Kael suddenly heard someone calling him. He turned around to find it was Hermione; she seemed to have been waiting for him here all along.
"What’s up?" Kael asked.
"It’s about you going to the Ministry of Magic tomorrow, right? I’ve thought of some important questions." Hermione said, "It’s regarding..."
"Hold on a moment." Kael interrupted her, "There’s something you might not know; I probably won’t be going to the Ministry of Magic for work tomorrow."
"Not going?" Hermione frowned, "Why not?"
"Because of You-Know-Who." Kael explained, "Everyone thinks You-Know-Who might retaliate against me for what happened this afternoon, so they’ve placed a restriction on my movements. I might not be able to go anywhere for the time being."
