Chapter 74: Settlement Rebate Rewards
The next morning, Steven woke up with a bright smile on his face. The first thing he saw was the system notifications.
[You spent $3,228,850. A 10x rebate was triggered.]
[You received $10,000,000. The money has been transferred to your account.]
[You received a condo penthouse located at, The Kingswood, 3847 Kirby Drive, Houston, TX.]

Steven couldn’t believe what he was seeing. He had been expecting something amazing from the settlement, but this was way more than that.
He couldn’t help but read through the notification one more time, to make sure that he had read it right.
A bright smile cut across his face immediately and sat up straight. He turned to the night stand to pick up his phone but he saw a pile of documents instead.
"What the...?!" He exclaimed in shock.
"What are these for? Where did they come from?"
Steven was genuinely surprised and he couldn’t help but wonder if someone had broken into his apartment while he was sleeping.
But he thought about it and felt that it shouldn’t be possible with how good the building’s security is.
He looked at the document on top closely and slowly read what was written on top. His eyes went wide in realisation after he had read the first line.
He looked back at the notifications and his eyes focused on the third one.
"The Kingswood, 3847 Kirby Drive... That’s my place..." He muttered slowly.
"Did the system purchase the penthouse for me?!" He exclaimed in shock.
He had planned to purchase the apartment after a month or two of living here, on the condition that he hasn’t gotten a better place. But with the system giving him the property as a reward, the plan was no longer possible.
But Steven wasn’t disheartened by this, even though his rebate opportunity has been taken from him, it wasn’t the only way.
He picked up the property’s document and started reading through it. A moment later, he closed it and set it down on the bed, with the smile on his face growing even wider.
"$2.6M for this apartment? That’s quite a lot," he muttered to himself, as he picked up another document from the night stand.
When he saw the amount the apartment was purchased for, Steven truly understood how much of a spending opportunity he had lost.
He read through the document and dropped it on the bed. He read through the remaining documents and when he was done, the smile on his face had widened to the point that his face was almost hurting.
The rebate multiplier triggered gave him $10M in cash, an apartment condo that costs $2.6M, a car that costs $273,000, a watch that costs $415,500 and a luxury residential apartment complex that costs more $19M, totalling $32.2M.
Steven couldn’t help but feel an indescribable feeling in his chest. It made his heart swell and he felt like shouting in excitement.
He closed his eyes briefly and took a deep breath, but he was unable to control the feeling in his chest, and it burst out, as he punched the air in uncontrollable excitement.
For Steven, while the other rewards had been very valuable, the luxury apartment complex was the best and most valuable, as it represented future revenue.
The document stated that the annual revenue from the property is estimated to be more than $1M.
This was a very significant amount in income for him. And the best part about it was that it’s not his main source of income.
As for the car and watch, the document has stated that the watch and key fob had been placed in his wardrobe, while the car has been parked in the underground garage.
Steven immediately got out of bed and walked to the wardrobe. He opened the wardrobe and the first thing that caught his attention was a rigid rectangular box in dark carbon grey.
He picked it up and the box felt bit heavier than it looks. He opened the box and inside was the watch positioned in a fitted dark suede cushion, with a warranty card and specification booklet beside it.
He picked up the warranty card, glanced at it, before setting it aside. And he did the same for the specification booklet. Then he picked up the watch and it felt amazing in his hand.
He dropped the watch box gently back where he had picked it from, with the warranty card and specification booklet in it, and put the watch on.
The watch really felt good in his hand and it didn’t feel heavy at all. It felt like it was there and wasn’t there at the same time.
Even with his nonexistent knowledge in things like this and lack of fashion sense, he could see that the watch is a great timepiece.
Steven smiled sheepishly, observing the watch and how it looks. As he observed the watch, he felt some vague information pushing against the back of his head but no matter how hard they push, it never became clearer.
He didn’t bother much with the information. He knew that it was related to the watch and it was his enhanced intelligence doing its job, but he really wasn’t interested in gaining expert knowledge on watches.
He turned his attention to the Porsche 911 Turbo S key fob that was beside the watch box and picked it up.
He felt the key fob in his hand for a moment and smiled. Without hesitation, he walked to the night stand, picked up his phone and left his bedroom. He crossed the living area and reached the door. He opened it, stepped out and walked down the hallway to the elevator.
A moment later, he stepped out of the elevator and walked to where he had parked his car. And when he got there, he saw the slate gray car, the Porsche 911 Turbo S.
He walked to it and pressed the door unlock button. The car beeped in response, causing him to smile even wider.
He reached out to the handle, pressed one end and the handle pops out slightly, allowing him to grip it. He tugged gently and the door opened, revealing the interior of the car.
He got into the car and observed the interior for a moment, then started the engine.
The car roared to life and the sound echoed through the underground garage.
Steven smiled and gripped the wheel. "Let’s take you out on a spin."
