Chapter 55: Now for the Equipments
Marcus looked at the structures before him and he was in awe. It was so easy to build like he was playing Sims City. Buy a structure and it will materialize. But there’s more to be done.
With the foundation of the basic structures already built, Marcus proceeded to the next part. Which is the equipment and vehicles.
Marcus looked at his current balance again.
31,794,540 MC.
He had already secured the base, the infrastructure, and the vehicles needed to get things moving. But as he stood there, looking at the barracks and the empty training ground, one thing became clear.
None of it mattered without weapons.
He wasn’t going to wait for recruits before preparing. That would slow him down. When the men arrived, they needed to see something real.
Marcus opened the system again and went straight to the weapons tab. This time, he didn’t skim. He read through the listings like he was picking parts for a system that had to work the moment it went live.
He stopped at the M4A1.
It was the most practical choice. Light, reliable, easy to maintain, and more importantly, easy to train with. If he was going to bring in E-rank and D-rank adventurers with no experience in firearms, this was the weapon that would get them up to speed the fastest.
He tapped it.
M4A1 Carbine (5.56mm) – 2,200 MC
Marcus leaned slightly as he did the math in his head.
Fifty men for the initial batch.
Extra units for damage, maintenance, and expansion.
"Eighty," he muttered.
He confirmed it.
[Purchase: M4A1 x80 – 176,000 MC]
Inside the armory, racks filled in an instant. Rifles appeared one after another, aligned perfectly, each identical down to the smallest detail. Matte black finish, clean rails, untouched.
A rifle without optics wasted potential. He wasn’t going to train them halfway.
He selected optics.
EOTech Holographic Sight + 4x Magnifier – 800 MC
Same number.
Eighty.
[Purchase: Optic Package x80 – 64,000 MC]
Boxes stacked neatly beside the rifles, each containing a sight and magnifier set. Clean, organized, ready to be mounted.
Marcus nodded once.
"Good."
Then ammo.
He opened the ammunition tab.
5.56 Magazine (30 rounds) – 50 MC
He didn’t hesitate.
Training alone would burn through hundreds of rounds per day once they started drills.
He needed surplus.
"Fifteen mags per rifle."
Eighty rifles.
One thousand two hundred magazines.
[Purchase: 5.56 Magazines x1,200 – 60,000 MC]
Crates formed beside the racks, stacked properly. He opened one, grabbing a magazine.
He set it back.
"...They won’t run dry."
He stepped back out of the armory and looked at the base again, then returned to the system.
Support weapons.
He wasn’t building a small-time adventurer party. He was building a unit.
He selected the M249.
M249 Light Machine Gun – 6,000 MC
"Four."
[Purchase: M249 x4 – 24,000 MC]
5.56 Belt Ammo Box – 200 MC
"Fifty boxes."
[Purchase: Belt Ammo x50 – 10,000 MC]
The heavier weapons appeared on reinforced racks. Bulkier, more aggressive in design, built for sustained fire.
Marcus ran his hand along one of them.
"...Fire superiority."
Then he added one more.
M240B (7.62mm) – 7,500 MC
He paused for a second.
Then confirmed.
"One."
[Purchase: M240B x1 – 7,500 MC]
7.62 Ammo Box – 300 MC
"Twenty."
[Purchase: 7.62 Ammo x20 – 6,000 MC]
The weapon materialized, heavier than the rest. This wasn’t for everyone. This was for specific roles.
Marcus stepped back and looked at everything.
Rifles lined in rows.
Optics stacked.
Magazines in crates.
Support weapons ready.
"Now that’s a start."
He wasn’t done yet.
His eyes moved back to the system, this time toward vehicles again.
Transport wasn’t optional. If he was going to operate outside the city, he needed mobility.
He selected the Humvee.
Humvee M1151 (Armored) – 60,000 MC
"Four units."
[Purchase: Humvee x4 – 240,000 MC]
Then one JLTV.
JLTV M1278 – 180,000 MC
[Purchase: JLTV x1 – 180,000 MC]
The vehicles settled into place near the internal road, engines silent but intact, their frames still clean from materialization. The Humvees sat in a neat line, identical down to the last bolt, while the JLTV stood slightly apart, bulkier, more modern in its profile.
[Current Balance: 31,027,040 MC]
Marcus narrowed his eyes slightly and went through the numbers in his head again.
Rifles.
Optics.
Magazines.
Support weapons.
Vehicles.
Everything lined up.
"...Around seven hundred sixty-seven thousand spent on those weapons alone."
"...Still barely touched it."
Thirty-one million still sitting there. That meant he could move faster than he originally planned. Not reckless, but he didn’t need to hold back either.
He opened the system again.
This time, he didn’t go back to weapons. He shifted to support equipment.
If he wanted this place to function like a real unit, communication and power had to be solid from the start.
He tapped Communications.
The list came up again, but now he selected with intent.
AN/PRC-152 Multiband Handheld Radio – 4,800 MC
He didn’t hesitate.
"Every man gets one."
He counted quickly.
Eighty rifles meant eighty operators.
"Eighty units."
[Purchase: AN/PRC-152 x80 – 384,000 MC]
Inside the armory, a new rack formed beside the weapons. Compact radios, identical, each with battery packs and antennas neatly packed.
Marcus grabbed one and turned it in his hand.
"...They’ll need comm discipline."
He placed it back and moved on.
AN/PRC-117G Manpack Radio – 18,000 MC
"These are for squad leaders."
He selected ten.
[Purchase: AN/PRC-117G x10 – 180,000 MC]
Larger radio units appeared, heavier, meant to be carried on the back. More range. More power.
Marcus nodded once.
"That covers coordination."
He switched tabs.
Power Systems.
Diesel Generator Unit (50kW Tactical) – 75,000 MC
He selected three more.
[Purchase: Generator x3 – 225,000 MC]
Behind the base, additional generator units formed, lining up beside the existing ones. Thick cables ran along the ground, connecting everything into a more stable grid.
Then fuel.
Fuel Storage Tank (1,000L) – 20,000 MC
"Six tanks."
[Purchase: Fuel Tank x6 – 120,000 MC]
Steel containers appeared, secured in place, ready for refueling vehicles and generators.
Marcus stepped back and looked at the setup.
"...Now it won’t fail in the middle of operation."
He wiped his hand once against his coat and went back to the system.
This time, he paused.
Then tapped Aircraft.
The interface changed.
The list was different.
He had already bought one Black Hawk before. That was his mobility. Extraction. Transport.
But one wasn’t enough.
He scrolled.
UH-60 Black Hawk (Utility Helicopter) – 6,000,000 MC
Marcus stared at it for a second.
"...Need another."
One for transport.
One for redundancy or simultaneous deployment.
He tapped it.
[Purchase: UH-60 Black Hawk x1 – 6,000,000 MC]
He scrolled further.
Attack helicopters.
AH-64 Apache (Attack Helicopter) – 8,500,000 MC
Marcus exhaled slowly.
This was different.
Not transport.
This was firepower.
Missile systems.
Chain gun.
Armored.
"...That changes things."
He thought for a moment.
Then nodded.
"One."
[Purchase: AH-64 Apache x1 – 8,500,000 MC]
He scrolled again.
Fixed-wing.
A-10 Thunderbolt II (Close Air Support) – 12,000,000 MC
Marcus let out a small breath.
"...Warthog."
He knew what it was capable of.
Close air support.
Heavy armor.
The GAU-8.
If he deployed this, nothing on the ground would stand for long.
He looked at his balance mentally.
Still enough.
"...One."
He tapped it.
[Purchase: A-10 Warthog x1 – 12,000,000 MC]
Suddenly, a new notification appeared.
[Additional Option Available: Assigned Personnel Required]
Marcus frowned slightly and tapped it.
A new panel opened.
Black Hawk Crews – 200,000 MC per unit.
Apache Crews – 250,000 per unit MC
Fixed-Wing Pilot (A-10 Qualified) – 200,000
Maintenance Crews (Aircraft Support Team) – 300,000 MC
"Wait what...I can summon personnel too? I thought I could only summon equipment. Didn’t know this feature existed. Well, I’ll take it."
