My Milf Conqueror System

Chapter 223: The Handover

[Jake’s POV]

The transition at the Jade Palace was brutal and efficient.

Morning light hit the emerald glass and turned it white. The Strip was quiet. Cleaning crews pushed machines that hummed. Delivery trucks backed up to loading docks. The smell of coffee and diesel hung in the air. The humidity was already pressing down.

The sun glared off the emerald glass until it hurt to look. Valets moved in slow motion, shirts sticking to their backs. The air smelled like hot asphalt, coffee, and the faint chemical tang of floor polish from the night crew.

I arrived at the casino at eight a.m. the following morning, accompanied by Ethan and twenty of the Golden Koi’s most disciplined soldiers. We didn’t wear triad colors or flash weapons. We wore tailored black suits, projecting the image of a high-end corporate security firm.

Our shoes clicked on marble. The lobby was too bright. Too empty.

Vivian Chau met us in the main lobby. She had already informed the Aegis Solutions detail commander that their contract was being terminated, effective immediately. Her heels made sharp sounds on the floor.

The Aegis commander, a heavily scarred ex-Marine named Miller, was waiting for us near the main security desk. He was flanked by ten of his contractors. They looked furious, their hands resting aggressively on their tactical belts. The air smelled like starch and anger.

"This is a joke, right?" Miller sneered as Vivian and I approached. He glared at me, recognizing me from the night before. "You’re replacing us with a bunch of street thugs? Ms. Chau, these guys don’t know the first thing about casino security. They’re going to get your patrons killed."

"The decision is final, Mr. Miller," Vivian said, her voice cold and professional. "Your severance packages have already been wired to your accounts. Please vacate the premises."

Miller didn’t move. He stepped closer to me, trying to use his physical size to intimidate. I could smell sweat and frustration and aftershave. "You got lucky in the stairwell last night, ghost. You caught my boys off guard. But you don’t want to push this. We don’t just walk away from a contract because some triad punk tells us to."

I didn’t raise my voice. I didn’t break eye contact.

"You’re walking away because your contract was terminated," I said, my tone perfectly level. "You failed to secure the VIP transit route. You failed to protect the drop box. You are a liability to this establishment."

"I’ll show you a liability," Miller growled, his hand dropping toward his holstered weapon.

He never completed the motion.

I stepped inside his guard, my left hand clamping down on his wrist, pinning his gun to his hip. Simultaneously, I drove the heel of my right hand hard into his sternum, knocking the wind out of him, and swept his lead leg.

Miller hit the marble floor with a heavy thud. The sound echoed. Before his contractors could react, Ethan and the Golden Koi soldiers stepped forward, their hands resting on their concealed weapons, forming a solid, impenetrable wall between me and the Aegis team.

I looked down at Miller, who was gasping for breath on the floor.

"The Golden Koi holds this property now," I said, my voice echoing in the quiet lobby. "Gather your men and leave the Strip. If I see Aegis uniforms in Macau again, I will consider it an act of war."

Miller stared up at me, the anger in his eyes slowly being replaced by the realization that he was completely outmatched. He wasn’t dealing with a street gang. He was dealing with a highly organized, ruthlessly efficient military operation.

He pushed himself up, rubbing his chest, and nodded sharply to his men. They turned and walked toward the exit, their pride bruised but their lives intact. Their boots were loud, then gone. The lobby felt bigger.

The marble was cold under my shoes. The chandeliers above threw fractured light that danced across empty tables. Somewhere a vacuum cleaner whined. The whole casino felt like it was holding its breath.

I turned back to Vivian. She was watching me, a mixture of apprehension and deep respect in her eyes.

"The perimeter is secure, Ms. Chau," I said, adjusting my suit jacket. "Ethan will coordinate the camera feeds with your internal network. The first cash drop will arrive at noon."

"Very well, Mr. Reed," she replied, her voice steady. "I will have the counting room prepared."

I left Ethan to manage the integration and walked out of the casino, stepping into the bright morning sunlight of the Cotai Strip.

The heat hit immediately. The air smelled like asphalt and car exhaust. The city was already moving.

Cabs honked. A delivery truck rumbled past, shaking the windows. The heat pressed against my suit. In the distance, the fountains hissed. The Strip was waking up, loud and glittering and already forgetting what happened last night.

The first piece of the proxy war was in place. We had a secure, high-volume laundering hub that the Four Dragons didn’t know about. We were generating the capital needed to meet the Empress’s quotas, and we were building a war chest to fund the inevitable conflict.

I tapped my earpiece as I walked toward the waiting Maybach. The leather was hot from the sun.

"Overwatch, the Jade Palace is ours," I reported.

"Copy that, Noah," Claire replied. "The financial feeds are already syncing. We’re routing the Golden Koi’s street cash through Vivian’s VIP accounts. The ledgers will look completely legitimate."

"Good," I said, sliding into the back of the car. The AC blasted cold. "What’s the status on the Four Dragons?"

"Quiet," Nia answered. "Too quiet. Han and Lin have pulled their street soldiers back into their respective territories. They’re fortifying their borders. They know a war is coming, and they’re waiting to see who makes the first move."

"Let them wait," I murmured, watching the glittering facades of the casinos roll past the window. "We control the pace of this game now."

The slow burn was working. The Golden Koi was growing stronger in the shadows, building an empire right under the noses of the syndicates.

And somewhere at the top of the Imperial Mountain, Empress Song Mei was watching.
