My Milf Conqueror System

Chapter 216: The Four Dragons

[Jake’s POV]

The Imperial Mountain was silent in a way Macau never was.

We walked along a path of smooth river stones. Each step made a soft _clack_. On both sides: perfectly manicured zen gardens. Raked white sand. Twisted pines that looked a hundred years old. The air was cool and damp. It smelled like wet stone, sandalwood incense, and something sweet I couldn’t name.

The mist hung low between the pines. Lantern light barely touched the path. Every sound felt muffled, absorbed by wood and stone and centuries of silence.

We crossed an arched wooden bridge. Below us, a koi pond. Black water. The fish moved like shadows under the surface, slow and deliberate. Lanterns hung from the eaves, casting a low orange light that didn’t reach far.

Every fifty feet, another pair of Imperial Guards.

Charcoal tactical suits. Hands resting near concealed weapons. They didn’t look at us. They didn’t need to. Their armor made no sound. The only movement was breath in the cold air. Watchful. Patient. Like statues that could kill.

The wealth here wasn’t loud. No neon. No gold plating. This was older. Generational. The stone, the wood, the lacquer — everything was worn in, not bought yesterday.

The path curved and the pavilion came into view.

It was built from dark mahogany and red lacquered wood. Massive. Open-air. It sat on the edge of the cliff like it had grown there. Beyond the railing, the entire city of Macau glittered below. A sea of light. From up here it looked calm. It wasn’t. Below, sirens and traffic. Up here, nothing but wind through bamboo. The contrast was violent. The mountain felt removed from time, from the chaos it ruled.

Inside the pavilion, a low table carved from a single piece of wood. Around it, three men sat on plush silk cushions.

I stopped two paces behind Li as she stepped onto the polished floor. I clasped my hands behind my back. Eyes down. Silent shadow.

But I cataloged everything.

To Li’s left: Han. Boss of the Jade Tigers.

Old. Face deeply lined. Gray hair tied back. Wearing a traditional silk tunic the color of jade. He controlled extortion and underground fighting in the northern districts. He smelled faintly of tea and medicine.

Across from him: Lin. Head of the Iron Fists.

Built like a tank. Massive shoulders. Arms covered in faded triad tattoos that disappeared under his sleeves. He controlled smuggling and weapons. The table creaked slightly under his weight. He had a scar that ran from his jaw to his collar.

The scar was old. The tattoos were older. His knuckles were scarred too. A man who settled things with his hands before his words.

To Li’s right: Zhao. Leader of the Crimson Triad.

Youngest. Sharp, modern suit. No tattoos visible. His eyes moved constantly. To the door. To the guards. To Li. He handled human trafficking and counterfeit. He looked nervous.

His cufflinks caught the lantern light. He kept adjusting them. A tell. He was afraid of being the weakest man in the room.

The hostility in the air was physical. It pressed down.

"Li Bai," Han said. His voice was a raspy wheeze. He didn’t stand. Didn’t bow. "You are late."

"The roads were slick from the storm, Han," Li replied. Her voice was smooth. She took her seat on the last silk cushion and arranged her jacket. Precise. Unhurried. "I apologize if I kept the council waiting."

"You have kept us waiting for answers all day," Lin growled. He leaned forward. His forearms, thick as my thighs, rested on the table. "The Inner Harbour is a war zone. Two Black Lotus warehouses burned to the ground. Wei is missing. And your soldiers are suddenly occupying territory that does not belong to you."

"The territory belonged to a dead man," Li countered. Perfectly level. "Wei was a rogue operator. He was skimming from his own faction and destabilizing the Outer Harbour. I simply restored order."

"You overstepped," Zhao snapped. His voice was tight, too high. "The Black Lotus territory should have been divided among the remaining factions. You do not have the authority to absorb an entire district overnight."

"I have the authority of possession," Li said. She met Zhao’s darting gaze and didn’t blink. "My soldiers hold the docks. My soldiers hold the transit yards. The vendors are paying their envelopes to the Golden Koi. The transition was seamless, and the revenue stream remains uninterrupted."

Han let out a harsh, barking laugh. "Revenue stream? Your syndicate has been bleeding cash for three years, Li. You barely had enough capital to pay your own guards, let alone buy out Wei’s entire street-level operation. Where did the money come from?"

There it was. The trap.

They wanted to audit her. Prove she was unstable. Prove she was using dirty, unsanctioned money.

Li didn’t flinch. She reached into her jacket and pulled out the sleek, black USB drive. She placed it in the center of the wooden table. The sound was soft but it carried.

"The Golden Koi’s finances are entirely transparent," Li said. "The drive contains our ledgers for the past six months. You will find a consistent, high-yield revenue stream from a series of private VIP baccarat tournaments, facilitated through the Grand Azure Casino."

The three bosses stared at the USB.

The mention of the Grand Azure hit them. Even Lin stopped breathing for a second. Evelyn Jin’s casino was untouchable. The standard for clean money.

"Evelyn Jin does not do business with the Golden Koi," Lin muttered. His brow furrowed. Suspicion.

"The ledgers say otherwise," Li replied calmly.

Before Han could reach for the drive, a soft, melodic chime echoed through the pavilion.

Instantly, the three bosses went still. Their posture changed. Shoulders down. Heads lowered. Eyes fixed on the table.

I kept my head bowed, but I shifted my gaze toward the back of the pavilion.

The air pressure shifted. Incense grew stronger. Somewhere a bell chimed once. The room went colder.

A set of sliding rice-paper doors opened without a sound.

Two Imperial Guards stepped out first. Took positions on either side.

Then she entered.
