Chapter 98: Amaela’s Surprise
Although Aiden said that, he couldn’t just tell the tenants to sacrifice their lives. Besides, after seeing Dexter’s and the girls’ state, they were naturally reluctant to leave the apartment anymore.
It didn’t even take a minute for Aiden to come up with a solution.
[The income from monster hunting would be doubled for a week.]
A notification was sent to all registered tenants. Even defaulters were given a chance to clear their rent. When given the choice between fighting ghouls one-on-one or fighting monsters in a group, the defaulters naturally picked the second option.
Just like that, the matter of finding sacrificial lambs was solved.
Aiden had barely taken care of all that when he remembered the ’promise’ he made to Amaela.
[Regretting it now, are we?]
"Does it matter?"
Even as he said that, the system noticed the usual annoyance and disgust he felt towards vampires was toned down a bit. She could guess why it was.
First, the monsters, then the heroes, and even forgotten texts. All of it had appeared on earth. Perhaps he was feeling hopeful that someday he would even find Carmila there.
That thought had made him calm enough not to lash out at Amaela. But that didn’t mean he would indulge her infinitely.
"Let’s see what’s on her mind..."
Aiden put on a random black shirt, paired with black pants. Only a blazer was missing, and everyone would think he was heading to a business meeting.
Since Karina and Alisha were both busy, one with a strategic meeting and the other with consoling John’s granny, neither of them saw Aiden all dressed up, or he probably would have ditched Amaela and shacked up with them instead.
Upon reaching Amaela’s unit, he knocked once, but there was no reply. Frowning, he pushed the door open and saw something written on the floor in blood.
"Come find me in unit 05 on the entertainment floor. I’ve prepared something special for you. Don’t keep me waiting too long."
Aiden read it and couldn’t help but pinch his nose.
He gave her an inch, and she was already reaching for a mile? He gave her a night, but she wanted him to visit that godforsaken floor for it?
"What’s unit 05 used for?"
[According to Milarel’s notes... it’s a pleasure room. Anyone can reserve it for the right price.]
"How did she even reserve a room without talking to anyone? Forget that, where did she even get the money from?"
[The room can be booked by anyone anonymously. As for where she got the money from... your guess is as good as mine, Host.]
Amaela was much more capable than Aiden thought she was. He had only left her unsupervised for her trip back to her room after she killed ghouls, and in that small window, she arranged for everything to torture his soul.
As he went down to the entertainment floor for the first time, he realized Milarel had been busy. Instead of the regular hall lights, she had brought some lamps from the brothel back and had even enchanted them to give off a mild purple light.
Some men were loitering around, looking at the girls. But when they saw Aiden on the floor, they hurriedly entered whatever room they could to hide from him.
The news that Aiden’s view of them could make or break their lives in the apartment had already spread within the building.
None of them wanted him to think badly of them. It was for that reason that they didn’t even bother asking him what he was doing there.
More importantly, they were worried that if the news of his visits to the entertainment floor were leaked, they’d be the first ones to go bye-bye.
The girls there were the same. Mila had already warned them not to engage with Aiden without her permission. All of them suppressed their desire to get a rich sugar daddy and hid inside their units.
Only the doors to unit 05 remained open.
"...let’s see what’s this all about."
He walked in to see the room was akin to a private lounge with low lighting. Strangely deep couches and beds, as well as a raised platform in the middle where a stripper pole was placed.
As he entered, he saw Amaela leaning against the pole, staring at him. She wore a short, sheer black silk robe that clung to her slightly pale skin. She had even gone to the length of using full-body makeup to give her skin a ’human’ touch.
And it worked to an extent, since even Aiden thought she looked human, but that thought only lasted for a second. Still, it was enough for Amaela to know her little trick worked as her crimson lips curved into a predatory smile.
"See something you like, Aiden?" she purred, leaning against the pole.
Before he could reply, she untied the robe’s belt, letting it fall open just enough to reveal the lingerie inside. Where she got it from, Aiden didn’t know. Probably borrowed from some girl on the floor.
Amaela frowned as if she expected Aiden to jump on her the moment she showed off a bit of skin. When he didn’t, she decided to take things up a notch and let the robe slide further, revealing the black lace bra barely covering her breasts.
She even cupped them and pushed them together before giving Aiden a view of her ’assets’ from every angle.
All the while, Aiden watched her expressionlessly. He knew the moment he reacted, whether it was positive or not, Amaela would rejoice in it and do something even more brazen.

Don’t say a word.
Aiden could try to fool Amaela, but not the system, as she was already inside his mind. He was being affected by Amaela like any man would when a woman threw herself at him.
Meanwhile, Amaela continued her performance. She turned her back to him, glancing over her shoulder as she unclasped the bra. With deliberate slowness, she let the straps fall down her arms, then dropped the lace to the floor.
"You might want to take a seat for this one..." she said, not turning around. "The knockers might just knock you out."
