Chapter 171: Exploiting
Since classes were over, the ladies were already hurrying home.
There was no need for me to linger anymore in class.
I glanced to the side where, ivory had stood up with a flustered expression.
Jane and aria were together with her, as they prepared to head home.
"Hey Ivory, you look exhausted, are you sure you didnt catch a cold or something?" aria asked with worry mixed in her tone.
Jane also stared at ivory’s flustered expression in confusion.
Ivory on the other hand jsut waved her hand off, signalling to the two girls that it was nothing.
"Let’s just go home. Classes today was exhausting."
"Alright." Jane readily agreed, as the three girls walked out of the classroom together.
I placed a headset over my head and put on some music as I casually strolled out of the classroom.
A few girls glanced in my direction, and silently whispered to themselves.
Before long I stepped out and hailed a taxi.
Today could be considered a fulfilling day, and I was in a good mood.
’If my guess isnt wrong, then mother’s affection towards me should be above 70 right?’
’Hmmm...’ just imagining the things I could do to her sent shivers of excitement throught my perverted mind.
Then again, I was only doing all these mentally, using the system.
The truly fulfilling part would be to experience them physically.
’I hate being a virgin.’ I scoffed as the taxi slowed to a stop at a surban district filled with highrise buildings, long threes that pierced straight towards the skies in towering architechure, and small, cozy apartment buildings gathered around.
As I headed towards my apartment, one of the bungalows ahead wehre I stayed with my mom, I couldnt help but call up the system once more.
Most people in my state would similarly be unable to control themselves.
I didnt want to call the system up anytime, only to discover it suddenly disapeared.

For a moment, my hand froze on the door handle, momentary stunned by the status screen infront of me.
Previously, when teh system had awakened, this wasnt displayed...
’Hmmm...’
I thought about it a little and placed it at the back of my mind.
I prefered this organized state of the system.
My eyes scanned the information displayed before pausing on the ’awakened abilities’ section.
’I have two awakened abilities?’
For a moment I thought it was the two features of the system, however faintly I felt that couldnt be the case.
Startled, I focused on the ’Awakened Abilities’ section and it expanded right before my eyes.

For a moment I was excited.
I’d actually gotten abilities? And useful ones at that.
Then, slowly my excitement gradually drifted to realisation.
’No wonder I got the abilities. I was wondering whether it was granted by the system, but it seems that by corrupting targets I can obtain their abilities?]
I mulled over it some more.
Ivory was exceptionally gifted in mana control.
In fact her rate of mastery was terrifying. It was one of the things that made her a genius. Having mana control at S-rank.
’But I only got F-rank...’
’Could it be because her corruption rate is still low? If make her corruption 100%, would I be able to gain her ability completely?’
This was merely a theoritical guess of mine. I couldnt be certain of the truth.
But it seemed to be the most likely situation.

Many years ago, on planet Astoria, monsters invaded the realm.
The veil between the real world and an alternate dimension had been torn.
Fissures, cracks in space leading to another realm appeared accross the world.
Initially, humanity decided to study these cracks and study its mysteries when monsters and abominations of all kinds began pouring from these cracks in space.
Humanity was plunged into despair, and majority of humanity had almost been wiped out.
Fortunately, a few portals spawned accross teh world.
From within these portals came creatures of myth, creatures that humanity doubted of its existence.
Elves, dwarves, and other miraculous races came to earth under the order of the celestials to being knowledge of mana and its magical properties to humanity.
Using this knowledge humanity was able to awaken all kinds of abilities and including some rare few who awakened classes.
From being on the losing end, humanity was gradually able to fight back against the monsters from these cracks in space.
Humanity was then able to build a safe haven for what was left of humanity.
In his world being powerless meant death.
One could only keep grrowing stronger if they wanted to be in control of their fate.
Even the celestials who had ordered the elves and other races to come teach us what they knew about mana, had indirectly told us that the help gottne from the celestials came at a price.
Although earth had been relatively peaceful, its only a matter of time before the celestials demanded something from humanity.
Nothing in life was free.
The only question was whether humanity would be able to bear the price asked.
"Lucas? Lucas is that you?" the voice of a matured woman entered my ears and I recalled that I was at the door of my house.
’Oh... damn, I almost forgot I was home already.’
The moment I muttered to myself, the door swung open and an elegant, matured beauty came into view.
