Chapter 37: Escape plan
Steadying my breath I struggled to defend against the onslaught of attacks barraging towards me.
Gradually, I began adapting to the rythym of the force behind his attacks.
As he swung his large harmer towards me, this time I didn tpanic instead I calmly blocked the attack, then moved to the side and released an attack of my own.
My cursed energy burned fiercely, turning into a bright red flame that surged upwards like a tide, submerging the hammar weilding man.
Swoosh!
Watching closely, I realised something was wrong and quickly distanced myself from him.
The next instant, the location where iw as exploded outwards as the rock beneath the ground exploded outwards.
Frowning slightly, I glanced in the direction of the man and noticed the grin plastered accross his face.
’Bastard...’ I cursed internally.
’Here... I’ll help you...’ suddenly a voice entered into my mind.
My eyes quickly scanned the surroundings as I recognised the voice as vale’s.
Before I could understan d what she meant by helping me, a cold whisper spread through the surroundings.
"Die..." my eyes gained a hue of pink and the moment the middle aged man stared into my eyes, he fell into a daze.
Slowly, he raised his hammer and slammed it towards his head.
Bang!
The nex tinstant, his head exploded like a water melon.
Until the moment of his death, he didnt realise how he’d died.

Meanwhile, a wave of shock surged into my heart, a bad premonition creaping up my spine.
How had vale done that?
It was as though she took control of my eyes, causing it to mimic her unique eyes ability and bring the middle aged man under her control.
’This eyes is even more terrifying than I thought...’ I whispered internally, calming my turboloud emotions.
After dealing with the middle aged man, I was finally able to scan the battle field.
Vale was still engaged in a gruesome battle with jason.
If my guess wasnt wrong, they two were at the second stage called the cursed master.
Their speed was extremely swift that I could hardly keep up with it.
Only flashes and blurs apeared in my line of sight.
Unable to help her, I turned my attention to the second battle firled.
Weilding spears the two ladies exchanged attacks with the lady who had a sword in her hand.
Bang! Bang! Bang!
Attacks continuously rang out into the surroudings.
At a glance one could see that both parties were evenly matched, however it wasnt hard to tell that the lady was gaining the upper hand gradually.
Her attacks grew more versatile as winds surged through the surroundings.
Using the obscured surroundings to her advantage, she was able to swiftly attack and sneak attack as well.
Bang!
An attack struck one of the succubus sending her flying towards a distant tree covered in snow and fog.
Spurting a mouthful of blood the lady colapssed weakly to the ground.
A grin apeared on the face of the lady as she glanced at the ssecond succubus.
"You are next!" her grin widened considerably as she immediately moved to attack, her unique cursed abilyto to control wind aiding her.
In mere moments she had already apeared infront of the succubus, her sword strikign towards her heart.
Bang!
Just then, her pupils shrank instantly the moemnt she sensed something from behind
"Not good!" she exclaimed and immediately dodged the attack aiming towards her heawrd.
However it was already too late as a fire dragon surged upwards, consuming the fog and submeging the lad yas well.
"Arrrrggghh." A pained scream tore through the air as the lady was warpped in the flames.
It engulfed her, burning her completely.
Controllign her cursed energy, she quickly used the wind to extinguish the flames, however the damage had already been done.
Swoosh!
Her frame was revealed to the trio. She was burnt completely, her cloths torn and burnt, revealing bits and pieces of her naked frame to the crowd, thankfully, it was slightly obscured due to the fog.
Finally, her haid was completely burnt making her look slightly bald.
Her eyes filled witha terrifying glint turned in my direction as she gritted her teeth.
"Attacking from behind like a little coward..."
Bang!
Just as she swung her sword once more about to attack, she froze as the she felt a searing wave of heat appear mid air.
Another attack erupted like a fountain as flames wrapped around her.
This time she was barely able to react before being completely engulved in the flames, and turning to ashes.
"After ensuring that she was completely dead I rushed up to the succubus from before who had been sent flying towards the tree.
Upon closer look I noticed she as crouched on the ground, gasping for breath, however it was clear that she would still make it out alive from the attack.
Seeing this I sighed in relief.
The succubus glanced at me with gratitude in her eyes, "thank you for saving my life, young sir!"
The other succubus similarly thanked me while helping her sister up from the ground.
I shook my head, "It’s nothing..."
Saying so I turned my attention back to the battle between jason and vale.
This time the battle had only grown nore intense.
Bang!
Attacks collided repeatedly as both figures struggled to land a blow on vale.
Still, she managedd to keep herself away fro hard.
Due to the slenderness of her physique, she was extremely agile enough to dodge all the sword attacks aimed towards her.
Suddenly, as thoughs ensing that both his friends were dead, jason flipped backwards repeatedly, and distanced himself from vale.
He glanced at the locaton where the middle aged man had died, then glanced towards the location hwere the lady had died and a solemn expression apearedon his face.
Knowing that the gurther this battle dragged on the more he was drawing closer to losing, he decided to no longer battle vale.
Letting out a breath he sighed and said, "today, vale, I have lost."
Sheating his sword, he no longer wanted to battle.
However, just before he left, his gaze turned towards me.
His attention was always on the battle despire diverting majority of his attention towards the battle between vale and I. As such he knew that the only reason his two frields had died was because of a human just like him.
"You..." staring at aristarkh, he felt the urge to rush up and kill him, however he controlled himself noting that vale wouldnt allow that.
"A human like you, helping cursed creatures to kill those of your kind? You should be ashamed!" he spat, then, a wave of distortiong followed and he quickly flew away...
As he flew an immense anger clouded jason’s heart as he gritted his teeth.
Imprinting aristarkh’s physical frame into his mind, he decided he would kill him no matter what happened.
’I just need to complete the mission at this cursed gate, after that I will definitely kill him no mattter the cost!’ a sense of righteousness burned fiercely in his heart.
Silently, I stared at jason’s depearting frame and couldnt help chuckling.
’Humans... cursed creatures... what does it have to do with me? I’ve just been thrust into this world without any idea on what to do...’
’As long as I can have fun, that’s enough for me...’
