[BL] The Mafia Boss Wants My Body

Chapter 339: The Peace We Finally Found

He glanced around the beautifully decorated suite once more, his smile growing even brighter. "Everything is perfect."

His eyes returned to Matteo. "And I’ll remember this night for the rest of my life."

Matteo reached for Adrian’s hand. "Come here."

Intertwining their fingers, he led Adrian into the bedroom.

The moment they reached the bed, they both let themselves fall backward onto the soft mattress, laughing quietly as they lay side by side, staring up at the ceiling.

For a few moments, neither of them spoke.

They simply enjoyed the peaceful silence, still trying to take in everything that had happened.

Finally, Matteo turned his head to look at Adrian. "Do you think it was worth it?" he asked softly.

Adrian didn’t hesitate. "Yes," he answered with a smile. "More than worth it."

Matteo smiled before letting out a quiet breath. "We’re not a perfect love story."

Adrian smiled back. "Maybe we aren’t perfect by the world’s standards," he said. "But to me... we are. We’ve loved each other through everything, and we’re still here. That’s what makes us perfect. We’ve faced so much together. I don’t think there’s anything left that can separate us... Except death."

Matteo couldn’t help smiling. He reached over and gently brushed Adrian’s cheek with the back of his fingers.

"Now I can finally sleep peacefully," he murmured. "Knowing that in just a few weeks..."

He lifted Adrian’s left hand, smiling at the ring resting on his finger.

"...you’re finally going to be my husband."

Adrian’s eyes widened. He immediately sat upright on the bed. "A few weeks?"

Matteo laughed at his reaction before sitting up beside him. "Yes."

He leaned back against the headboard. "My father called me a few days ago.

Adrian listened quietly. "He talked to me about my mother."

Matteo lowered his gaze for a moment. "He said a lot of things. He told me that forgiving her isn’t about pretending the past never happened. He said forgiveness is about finding peace for myself."

Matteo let out a slow breath. "I’ve thought about everything he said... And I’ve made my decision. The next time I see her, I want us to sit down and talk."

He looked at Adrian. "I can’t change what happened between us. I wasn’t a good son to her, and I know I hurt and disappointed her in many ways. She made mistakes too, and so did I. Maybe it wasn’t entirely her fault. Maybe it wasn’t entirely mine. At this point, I don’t want to spend the rest of my life trying to figure out who was right or who was wrong. It won’t change anything."

He let out another quiet breath. "I can’t go back and rewrite the past... but maybe I can change what happens from now on."

Adrian looked deeply into Matteo’s eyes, his expression filled with absolute certainty and love.

Adrian looked at Matteo with a gentle smile.

"I don’t care what anyone else says about you or how the world sees you," he said softly. "I’m proud of you. People may judge you because of your reputation or your past, but they don’t know the man I know. They don’t get to see your kindness, your heart, or how hard you’ve tried to become a better person."

He smiled warmly. "When I chose you, I knew I wasn’t making the wrong decision. You’ve never given me a reason to regret it. You’re the best decision I’ve ever made...And I want to do the same. I want to see my father soon and tell him that his son is getting married."

Matteo’s eyes softened with overwhelming affection. He reached out, pulling Adrian firmly against his chest and burying his face in his hair.

"Thank you," Matteo whispered, his voice thick with emotion. "Thank you for never giving up on us."

Adrian wrapped his arms tightly around Matteo’s waist, melting into the embrace. "Thank you for never stopping loving me," he murmured against his chest. "Thank you for always protecting me, and for always wanting the absolute best for me. I appreciate everything you do for me, Matteo. I truly do."

Matteo pulled back just enough to look at him, his heart completely full. Without breaking their gaze, he slowly stood up and began to undress, discarding the heavy layers of his clothes to simply be close to the man he loved.

Understanding the silent invitation, Adrian smiled and did the same, letting his own elegant clothes fall away.

Together, they climbed back into the large bed, slipping beneath the heavy, warm duvet.

Matteo opened his arms.

Adrian moved closer without hesitation, resting comfortably against his chest.

There was no rush, no burning heat of passion, just an incredibly deep, soulful connection. Wrapped tightly in the quiet intimacy of the dimly lit room, they shared soft, lingering kisses.

They spent the hours intertwined, tracing gentle patterns over each other’s skin, whispering sweet, breathless words and quiet promises into the night.

It was a slow, tender romance, a beautiful celebration of the forever they had just promised each other. Held securely against Matteo’s chest, listening to the steady, comforting rhythm of his heartbeat, Adrian finally let his eyes close.

And wrapped perfectly in each other’s arms, they drifted into a deep, peaceful sleep.

The next morning arrived quietly.

For the first time in what felt like forever, Adrian woke without fear weighing on his chest.

The sunlight spilled gently through the floor-to-ceiling windows, painting the suite in warm shades of gold. Beside him, Matteo was already awake, watching him with the same quiet smile that had become Adrian’s favorite sight.

They spent the morning slowly.

They enjoyed breakfast together at the resort before meeting everyone else downstairs. Laughter echoed around the table as congratulations continued pouring in.

Mark refused to stop teasing the newly engaged couple, while Charles, Frank, and Maxwell happily joined in. It was lighthearted, peaceful, and exactly what they all needed after the emotional night before.

Earlier that morning, Maya had already left the resort before everyone woke up. She sent Adrian a message to let him know she had already gone and wished him and Matteo a lifetime of happiness.

As the sun slowly began its descent toward the horizon, everyone changed into lighter clothes for the yacht trip.

This time, however, Matteo had another surprise.

Instead of boarding one large yacht together, two luxury yachts waited at the marina.

One was for Maxwell, Mark, Charles, and Frank.

The other... Belonged only to Matteo and Adrian.

Adrian looked from one yacht to the other before turning toward Matteo. "We’re not going with them?"

Matteo smiled, intertwining their fingers. "I wanted us to have a little time alone."

A soft smile spread across Adrian’s face. "I like that idea."

Hand in hand, they stepped aboard their private yacht.

The crew welcomed them warmly before quietly returning to their duties, giving the couple as much privacy as possible.

As Adrian climbed onto the upper deck, he stopped in his tracks.

The yacht had been beautifully decorated.

Soft white roses framed the railings, intertwined with delicate fairy lights that shimmered against the polished wood.

White rose petals were scattered across the deck, while elegant lanterns and glass candles lined the walkway, glowing softly in the fading daylight. Every detail blended perfectly with the breathtaking ocean stretching endlessly around them.

Adrian slowly turned in a circle, taking everything in. "You decorated this too?"

Matteo slipped an arm around his waist. "I couldn’t let our first trip as fiancés be ordinary."

Adrian laughed quietly before resting his head against Matteo’s shoulder. "You really don’t know how to stop surprising me."

Matteo smiled. "I don’t want to. Seeing you smile is my favorite reward."

Adrian looked at him in disbelief before they both broke into laughter.

The yacht eased away from the marina, gliding effortlessly across the calm water.

The city skyline slowly drifted farther behind them, replaced by the endless shimmer of the open sea.

For a while, neither of them spoke.

They simply stood together at the stern, watching the waves sparkle beneath the evening sun.

The cool breeze danced through Adrian’s hair, carrying the familiar scent of saltwater.

After several quiet minutes, Adrian looked down at the ocean below. "...It’s still scary."

Matteo glanced at him. "The water?"

Adrian nodded. "I don’t think I’ll ever stop being afraid of deep water."

Without saying anything, Matteo gently slipped his hand into Adrian’s. "You don’t have to."

Adrian looked up at him.

"I’m here," Matteo murmured.

The simple words settled every anxious thought inside him.

Adrian smiled softly. "I know."

They spent the next few hours wandering around the yacht together.

Sometimes they stood quietly at the bow, watching the endless horizon.

Sometimes they sat side by side on the sun deck, sharing fruit, desserts, and drinks while talking about everything and nothing.

The crew occasionally served them fresh seafood, carefully prepared dishes, and chilled beverages before respectfully leaving them alone again.

As the sun dipped lower, the sky transformed into breathtaking shades of gold, orange, and soft pink.

Matteo took Adrian’s hand. "Come here."

He guided him toward the front of the yacht.

The ocean stretched endlessly before them, glowing beneath the setting sun.

Matteo wrapped both arms around Adrian from behind, resting his chin lightly on his shoulder.

Adrian leaned back into him without hesitation.

They watched the sunset together in complete silence, listening only to the gentle splash of waves against the hull and the distant cries of seabirds circling overhead.

It wasn’t an extravagant moment.

It wasn’t dramatic.

It was simply peaceful.

And somehow...

That made it unforgettable.

As twilight settled over the water, the crew prepared a quiet candlelit dinner on the upper deck.

The two of them shared the meal beneath the first stars of the evening, laughing over old memories, talking about their wedding, and imagining the life they wanted to build together.

Just as Adrian reached for his glass, Matteo’s phone vibrated in his pocket. Expecting another business message, he took it out without much thought. However, the moment his eyes landed on the sender’s name, he went completely still.

Adrian noticed the sudden change in his expression and looked at him with concern.

"What is it, baby?"

Matteo didn’t answer immediately. He kept staring at the screen, almost as if he couldn’t believe what he was seeing.

The message was from his mother.

She hadn’t called or sent him a single message in years, so seeing her name appear on his screen left him momentarily speechless. After a few quiet seconds, he finally unlocked his phone and opened the message with slightly trembling fingers.

Congratulations, my son.

I heard the wonderful news, and I couldn’t let today pass without telling you how happy I am for you.

May this new Chapter of your life be filled with the peace, love, and happiness you’ve searched for all these years.

Please tell Adrian that I wish him a lifetime of happiness.

Congratulations once again, my son. I love you, and I’m proud of the man you’re becoming.

—Your Mother.

Matteo remained silent for a few seconds, reading the message again.

Then, without saying a word, he turned the phone toward Adrian.

Adrian carefully read every line. When he finished, he looked back at Matteo with a gentle smile.

"I think..." Adrian said softly, "...this is her way of taking the first step."

He reached across the table and squeezed Matteo’s hand.

"She loves you, Matteo. Maybe she just didn’t know how to find her way back to you."

Matteo lowered his eyes to the message once more.
