[BL] The Mafia Boss Wants My Body

Chapter 89: The Secret That Could Break Them

Charles chuckled. "Yeah, just tell us."

Adrian laughed. "Matteo and I are officially boyfriends!"

There was a brief silence on the other end, then both voices shouted at once, "What?!"

"Tell us everything," Charles demanded.

"Yeah, start talking now," Frank added quickly.

Charles leaned closer to the screen. "Because the last time we saw you two together, you were barely even speaking! What happened?"

"And what about that guy at the gym?" Frank cut in.

"Yes!" Charles said. "The one who was with Matteo that night and at the gym too?"

They both kept firing questions, talking over each other without even waiting for Adrian to answer.

Adrian laughed softly. "Guys... can you give me a second to breathe?"

Frank scoffed. "Why do you need to breathe? Just talk."

Charles grinned. "Fine, breathe—but start talking at the same time."

Adrian couldn’t stop smiling. "I have so much to tell you. I was actually planning to explain everything when we met, especially about the guy at the gym."

He shook his head, still smiling. "He wasn’t Matteo’s boyfriend or some one-night thing... he’s his brother, Maxwell. I’ll explain that later."

Adrian’s grin widened. "Right now, just know this, I’m with my man... and it’s official."

Frank frowned slightly. "I still don’t trust Matteo that easily. You can’t just trust him like that. I don’t want him to break your heart."

"Frank..." Charles said, cutting in gently. "Let’s try to be positive."

Adrian chuckled, his confidence unshakable. "Whether you’re both positive or not, what I know is this: If I were a woman, I’d be pregnant by now. We don’t use protection, that’s exactly how much I trust him."

Frank gasped, clearly flustered. "But... Adrian, that’s reckless!"

Charles cut in immediately, his voice warm and supportive. "If you trust him, then we should too. I’m truly happy for you, Adrian."

"What is the sign of it?" Frank asked. "Did he propose with a ring?"

"No, he just asked me," Adrian beamed. "But you wouldn’t believe it! He went all out, decorating the house with flowers and gifts to ask me. I’ll show you the pictures when I get back downstairs."

Frank shook his head, clearly surprised. "Wow... ever since you started seeing Matteo, you’ve changed. The quiet Adrian I knew is gone."

Charles chuckled. "Leave him alone, Frank. I’m happy for you, Adrian. I can’t wait to see the pictures. And don’t forget to take one with him... it’ll be a memory of your first day as boyfriends."

"That’s a great idea, Charles! Thanks," Adrian said.

They talked for a while longer, the conversation easy and full of teasing, mostly from Frank.

"Alright, guys," Adrian finally said, smiling. "I need to go back to my boyfriend."

They laughed and teased him a bit more before he said his goodbyes and ended the call.

Adrian headed back downstairs.

When he got there, he found Matteo on a call.

He didn’t hesitate. He walked straight over, climbed onto Matteo’s lap, and wrapped his arms around his neck, resting his chin on Matteo’s shoulder.

Matteo glanced down, his expression softening instantly. He muttered a quick, "I’ll call you back," and ended the call. He turned his full attention to Adrian, his eyes narrowing slightly. "You were gone for a long time. What were you doing? Who were you talking to?"

Adrian looked Matteo in the eye. "I was on the phone with my sister, Maya. We ended up talking longer than I expected."

Matteo studied him closely, his gaze searching for any sign of deception. He knew how easily Adrian could hide his feelings in the past, and he wasn’t about to let anything slide now.

"Are you serious?" Matteo asked.

"I’m serious," Adrian replied, leaning in to press a light kiss to Matteo’s jawline. "It was just Maya."

Matteo searched his face for another heartbeat before letting out a soft breath. "Alright," he murmured, his hands sliding around Adrian’s waist to pull him closer.

"Let’s take a picture," Adrian whispered, pulling out his phone.

Adrian smiled at him. "You know you’re more handsome when you’re jealous."

Matteo smiled, his gaze fixed on Adrian.

"Alright... let’s take a picture," Adrian said softly, pulling out his phone.

Matteo raised a brow, clearly surprised. He wasn’t really the type to take pictures, so the request caught him off guard. For a moment, it looked like he might refuse, but when he saw Adrian’s expression, he couldn’t say no.

"Okay," he said, pulling Adrian closer. "If you want it, I’ll do it."

For the next hour, the house was filled with the sound of laughter. They snapped photos from every angle... Adrian captured the gifts, then they turned the camera on themselves. They took silly poses, shots of Matteo kissing Adrian’s cheek, and intimate, candid frames that captured the raw joy of their new beginning.

But while they were lost in their bubble, the air in the city was growing thick with malice.

Across town, Iris paced her office, her mind a storm of heavy thoughts. She couldn’t rest knowing Adrian was with Matteo.

She didn’t just want to take Adrian away, she wanted to destroy what they had, break it so completely that they would never find their way back to each other. Then Adrian would have no choice but to come back to her.

Her investigators had finally brought back what she needed: a secret buried deep within powerful circles. Matteo’s father had no idea his son was gay, and Adrian’s strict, powerful father would never accept him being with a man, let alone a mafia boss.

Iris let out a cold laugh. A game, she thought. This is just a game, and I hold the cards.

Back in the living room, Adrian was scrolling through their photos, his face glowing with a soft smile. Suddenly, his phone screen lit up with a harsh, intrusive notification.

It was a message from Iris.

"Don’t waste your time. In the end, you won’t end up with him."

Adrian’s smile faltered. His thumbs hovered over the screen, his heart sinking. He quickly typed back, "What do you mean?"

Iris didn’t hesitate. "Maybe you don’t know, but Matteo’s father has no idea he’s into men. He would never accept a gay heir. And your father? If he finds out you’re with a man, especially someone like Matteo, he won’t take it lightly. You’re risking a war between two powerful worlds, Adrian. You’re playing with fire."

Adrian read the message and couldn’t find the words to reply.

She sent one final message: "You have 24 hours to come home. If you don’t, the truth will reach both your fathers. Make your choice."

The color drained from Adrian’s face. The joy of the photos vanished, replaced by a cold, gripping dread. He went completely silent, his eyes fixed on the screen, his hand beginning to tremble.

Adrian stared at the message, his mind racing. It wasn’t the threat about his own father that shook him, it was Matteo’s.

If Matteo’s father truly didn’t know... then why had Matteo pushed so hard to be with him?

Why make them official... knowing the risk?

Matteo, who had been watching him with a contented smile, noticed the change instantly. The warmth in the room faded.

"Baby," Matteo called softly, his voice suddenly alert. "What happened?"

Adrian let out a shaky breath, his fingers tightening around his phone. He looked up at Matteo, his eyes wide with panic. "I need to ask you something... and I need you to be honest with me."

Matteo’s expression turned serious, his posture straightening. "Ask me anything."

"Is it true..." Adrian’s voice trembled. "Is it true your father doesn’t know you’re gay? That he doesn’t even know you’re into men?"

Matteo fell silent.
