[BL] The Mafia Boss Wants My Body

Chapter 62: A King’s Softest Weakness

He stood up, the tension around him fading as if it had never been there.

"Let’s go inside," Matteo said. "My baby’s calling. He’s probably awake and noticed I’m not there."

A faint smile lingered.

"He already misses me."

Mark couldn’t help but let out a loud laugh, shaking his head at the sudden shift. "Alright, ’Lover Boy,’ let’s go. Don’t keep him waiting."

Matteo swiped the screen to answer as they reached the elevator, his voice instantly dropping into that intimate, private register reserved only for one person. "Hey, babe," he said.

"Where did you go?" Adrian’s voice came through, slightly thick with sleep.

Matteo couldn’t help but tease him. "Did you miss me already?"

"I thought maybe you fell out the window," Adrian said dryly. "Since you’re clearly fine, I’m going back to sleep."

"Alright then," Matteo chuckled, leaning against the elevator wall. "Since you don’t miss me, I guess I’ll just stay right where I am."

There was a brief silence on the other end before Adrian spoke again, his voice softer this time. "The bed feels empty without you... Just come back quickly."

Matteo’s smile widened, warmed by the admission. "Alright, babe. I’m on my way now. You’ll see me soon."

"Alright. Be fast."

The line went dead, and a quiet warmth spread through Matteo’s chest. He glanced at Mark as the elevator descended.

"Be fast," he repeated with a grin, echoing Adrian’s words with a grin.

He was so caught up in the moment that he leaned over and planted a quick, brotherly kiss on Mark’s cheek.

Mark laughed, shoving him off playfully. "The last time I saw you this happy was before you stepped into power, Teo. Before everything got so heavy."

Matteo’s expression turned thoughtful, though the smile remained. "You’re right. I’m just... I’m really glad to have him in my life."

"I’m glad to see you finally being yourself again," Mark replied sincerely.

When the elevator doors opened, the two brothers walked down the hall together. Matteo walked Mark to his door first, giving him a firm nod of thanks for the advice tonight, before turning and practically rushing down the corridor toward his room to get back to Adrian.

When Matteo reached the door, he reached for the handle and pushed it open. He was still smiling when he lifted his head—and found Adrian standing there, already looking at him.

Adrian stood in the doorway, his eyes lighting up with relief the moment they met Matteo’s.

Without a word, Adrian rushed forward. Matteo let out a soft huff of breath as Adrian collided with him, jumping up to wrap his legs around Matteo’s waist. Matteo instinctively caught him, his hands scooping under Adrian’s thighs to hold him steady.

"Where did you go?" Adrian asked, his arms draped over Matteo’s shoulders.

Matteo didn’t answer with words. He looked up at him, a faint smirk playing on his lips. "Kiss me," he said softly, already walking them both back toward the bed.

Adrian didn’t hesitate. He leaned down, capturing Matteo’s lips in a deep, welcoming kiss. Matteo’s hands wandered, his grip tightening on Adrian’s backside as he carried him across the room. He reached the edge of the mattress and gently lowered Adrian onto the sheets, hovering over him as their lips finally parted.

A few strands of Adrian’s hair fell across his forehead. Matteo reached up, his touch unexpectedly gentle as he brushed them back.

He lingered there for a moment, his gaze locked on Adrian’s, he stayed like that for a long moment, just staring into Adrian’s eyes, his expression a mix of wonder and intensity.

"What are you doing to me?" Matteo asked, his voice low. "I am so into you, Adrian. It’s like I can’t think straight anymore."

Adrian smiled, reached up to lace his fingers behind Matteo’s neck, pulling him slightly closer. "You feel this way because I make you feel welcome, Matteo. Because I want you to know that you actually deserve to be loved."

Matteo’s heart thudded against his ribs. "Are you saying you love me?"

Adrian’s smile turned playful, his eyes dancing. "What do you think?"

"Say it," Matteo pushed, his gaze searching Adrian’s face.

"You’re far too desperate to hear it," Adrian teased, a soft laugh bubbling in his throat.

"I am," Matteo admitted without a shred of pride. "I’m incredibly desperate. So tell me."

Adrian held his gaze for a heartbeat, then shook his head. "No."

Matteo’s face fell, and he made a move to pull away and stand up. "Alright, fine."

"Matteo, wait," Adrian whispered, his grip tightening on Matteo’s neck to keep him from leaving. The playfulness vanished, replaced by a raw sincerity. "I never thought I would feel anything like this for a man. But with you... it’s not about gender. You make me feel loved in a way I’ve never known. So... I’m giving that love back to you."

Matteo’s breath hitched. "So you love me. Right?"

Adrian nodded slowly, a flush rising to his cheeks. "Yes. I do."

A look of pure joy spread across Matteo’s face. He leaned down, capturing Adrian’s mouth in a kiss that was much more than just physical, it was a seal.

Adrian wrapped his legs back around him, pulling him down until there was no space left between them. They stayed like that, lost in a slow, romantic haze of kisses and soft touches until the adrenaline finally began to fade into exhaustion.

Eventually, they both slid under the duvet. Adrian immediately curled into Matteo’s side, his head finding its familiar spot on Matteo’s chest. Matteo sighed contentedly, pressing a long kiss to the top of Adrian’s head.

"Where did you really go earlier?" Adrian asked, his voice muffled by the blankets.

Matteo tightened his hold slightly, his gaze drifting to the dark ceiling for a moment as the memory of the rooftop lingered.

"I just had something to take care of," he said quietly. "It’s done now."

He lowered his head, pressing a soft kiss against Adrian’s hair.

"Go to sleep, babe."

Adrian shifted slightly in his arms, tilting his head up. "Tell me something sweet first," he murmured. "Tell me how special I am to you... and how much you love me."

Matteo let out a quiet breath, his hand moving gently along Adrian’s back.

"I’ve lived my whole life in the dark, Adrian," Matteo began, his voice thick with emotion. "I thought power was the only thing that could keep me safe. But you... you’re the only thing that makes me feel like I’m actually alive. You aren’t just special; you’re the piece of me I didn’t know was missing. I love you more than I have the words to say. You’re my home."

Adrian smiled at that, lifting his head to look at him. He leaned in and pressed a soft kiss to Matteo’s cheek.

"Goodnight," he whispered.

Matteo smiled faintly. "Goodnight, Rian."

Adrian settled back against him, his body relaxing almost immediately as sleep took over.

Matteo held him close, his arms wrapped securely around him, his chest warm with a quiet, steady happiness.

Not long after, he drifted off too.

The next morning—

A knock on the door pulled Matteo from sleep.

He stirred, his eyes opening slowly. "What is it?" he called out, his voice still rough.

"Boss," Harry’s voice came from the other side. "Your father is here. He wants to see you immediately."

The mention of his father made Matteo’s blood run cold. He stirred quickly, the sudden movement waking Adrian, who sat up rubbing his eyes in confusion.

"What’s wrong?" Adrian asked, his voice husky from sleep.

Matteo turned to him, leaning in to give him a quick, hurried kiss. "Good morning, babe. I’m sorry, I have to go downstairs."

"What happened?" Adrian asked, sensing the sudden tension in Matteo’s shoulders.

"My father is here," Matteo said, already reaching for his clothes in a rush. "Stay here. I’ll be back as soon as I can."
