Chapter 59: Mine—Whether You Admit It or Not
Matteo went quiet for a moment, processing it.
"That’s what happened?" he asked.
Adrian nodded. "Yes. That’s the truth. He made sure I felt like an outsider in your life."
Matteo let out a frustrated sigh. "Rian, I’m sorry. I had no idea he treated you like that."
Adrian scoffed, looking away. "Why are you the one apologizing? You’re not the one who did anything wrong—he is."
He walked over to the sofa and sat down, his gaze lingering on Matteo for a moment.
"You know... I used to think there was something between you and Tony."
Matteo’s lips curved into a smirk. He walked over and climbed onto Adrian’s lap, settling across his thighs so he could look him in the eye.
"I already told you, he’s my right-hand man and my friend."
Adrian frowned slightly. "I know, but it’s just... hard to believe sometimes, with the way he acts."
Adrian rolled his eyes. "Jealous of you? Never. I’m only telling you that I hate him because of how he treats me. And here you are, asking if I’m jealous? No way."
"Alright then," Matteo said, rising from Adrian’s lap. He turned and headed for the door with a purposeful stride.
"Where are you going?" Adrian asked.
"I’m going to find someone who is going to be jealous, obsessed, and possessive of me," Matteo said.
Adrian leaned back, crossing his arms. "Alright. Go ahead."
Matteo stopped at the door, glancing back. "You won’t stop me?"
"Never. Why should I?"
Matteo’s expression turned serious. "Fine. Sleep alone tonight. I’ll go find that person."
"Alright," Adrian replied casually. He stood up, unbuckling his watch and slipping off his shoes. Then he began to unbutton his shirt, slow and unhurried.
Just as Matteo reached for the door handle, Adrian spoke again.
"Good," he said lightly. "Once you leave, I’ll call two of your men to spend the night with me instead."
Adrian climbed onto the bed, leaning back against the pillows, his posture relaxed but deliberate, his eyes holding a quiet challenge.
Matteo turned back immediately, his possessive streak flaring. "None of my men would dare do that."
"But you dare go to someone else?" Adrian said, tilting his head. "If you still think you need someone else, go find them. I don’t care."
He slipped under the duvet and turned his back to Matteo, as if he had already fallen into a deep sleep.
"Fine," Matteo muttered. He opened the bedroom door and slammed it shut, making it sound like he had left. Then he stayed perfectly still, hidden out of sight.
Adrian waited for a few seconds. When the silence stretched on, he slowly turned around. Seeing the door closed and the room seemingly empty, he sat up and grabbed his shirt, pulling it back on as he prepared to go downstairs.
He was just about to reach for the door handle when Matteo jumped out with a loud shout, trying to scare him.
"Ah!" Adrian flinched, his heart jumping as he stumbled back. He shot Matteo a glare as the mob boss burst into laughter. "Matteo! Stop—what kind of game is this?"
"Now I know how much you love me," Matteo teased, stepping closer. "Even if you won’t say it, you just proved it. You were coming after me."
Adrian shook his head, trying to hide his embarrassment. "Sometimes I wonder how you ever convinced people to be scared of you. You’re childish... and annoying. And for your information, I was going downstairs to find those two men. What does that have to do with you?"
Adrian walked back to the bed, huffing. "You can go. I’m not stopping you."
Matteo smiled, following him closely. As Adrian sat on the edge of the mattress, Matteo suddenly jumped onto the bed, landing right next to him.
"Stop it! Aren’t you leaving anymore?" Adrian asked, trying to push him off as he slid under the duvet.
"I already know you love me," Matteo said, kicking off his shoes as he slipped under the covers. He shifted closer, hovering over Adrian and pressing him gently into the pillows.
"Tell me you love me," he murmured. "I want to hear it."
"You said you were going to find someone else," Adrian reminded him, turning his face away. "So go find them."
Matteo’s expression softened, his gaze becoming intensely sincere. "It’s only you I love, Rian. But I need to know... what do you feel for me?"
Adrian held his gaze for a long moment, the silence between them heavy with unspoken words. Slowly, he reached up, his fingers sliding into Matteo’s hair at the nape of his neck as he pulled him closer.
Their lips met in a kiss that began soft, a gentle brush of warmth, before deepening into something more intense.
"Have sex with me," Adrian murmured against Matteo’s mouth, his breath hitched and shaky. "And I’ll tell you exactly what I feel for you."
"No, baby, we shouldn’t—" Matteo started. "I already told you... only when we’re actually together—"
But Adrian didn’t let him finish.
With a sudden surge of movement, Adrian rolled them over, shifting his weight until he was straddling Matteo’s lap.
Matteo’s eyes widened in surprise as Adrian immediately leaned back down to capture his lips again, his hands moving with purpose. Adrian’s fingers worked quickly at the buttons of Matteo’s shirt, tugging the fabric back until it was open, exposing the warm, muscular expanse of his chest.
Adrian’s lips moved slowly from Matteo’s mouth to his jaw, then down to his neck. He paused there, letting his breath warm against his skin.
Matteo let out a low sound, his head tilting back as Adrian pressed closer. Their bodies touched, warm and close, with barely any space between them.
The feeling built slowly, making it hard to ignore.
Adrian shifted slightly, moving against him in a steady rhythm, not fast, not rough, just enough to keep the tension there.
Under the duvet, they stayed close, their bodies fitting together as the moment stretched, unbroken.
Every slide of their thighs and every heavy press of their hips sent a jolt through the room. Matteo’s hands gripped Adrian’s waist tightly, his hold firm as he pulled him closer, his thumbs pressing into the curve of Adrian’s hips.
Even without penetration, the sensation of their cock rubbing together, skin-to-skin, was overwhelming. They humped against each other in a feverish, desperate rhythm, the friction of their bodies creating a heat that felt like it was going to consume them.
The air in the room grew thick with the sound of their combined breathing and the wet, slick sounds of their mouths meeting, their tongues dancing in a messy, deep kiss that swallowed their moans.
"Rian..." Matteo gasped, his voice breaking as the tension reached a snapping point.
Adrian didn’t pull away; he moved faster, his head falling onto Matteo’s shoulder as he let out a sharp, choked-off sound. Under the cover of the duvet, the intense grinding brought them both to a shuddering, breathless release at the same time.
They collapsed against each other, chests heaving in unison, the only sound the frantic thrumming of their hearts.
Adrian stayed draped over Matteo, his face buried in the crook of his neck, savoring the heavy, satisfied silence.
Matteo exhaled a long, shaky breath and brushed a stray hair from Adrian’s damp forehead.
"Did that satisfy you enough?" Matteo asked.
Adrian didn’t pull away, simply nodding against the crook of Matteo’s neck. "Yes," he muffled.
Matteo smiled, pressing a tender kiss to Adrian’s bare shoulder before wrapping his arms around him in a protective hug. They stayed like that for several minutes, the heavy silence of the room finally feeling peaceful instead of tense.
"Let’s shower," Matteo whispered.
"Alright," Adrian agreed.
They stood up together, limbs still a bit heavy, and headed into the bathroom. Under the warm spray of the water, the mood lightened. Adrian was feeling extra playful, reaching out to spank Matteo’s butts with a loud thwack. Matteo let out a startled laugh, turning to splash him in return, their laughter echoing against the tiled walls.
Once they finished, they dried off and dressed in clean, comfortable clothes for bed. They slipped back under the duvet, and Matteo immediately pulled Adrian close, holding him against his chest.
He stayed awake for a while, listening to Adrian’s breathing as it slowly eased into a steady, peaceful sleep.
After he was sure Adrian was asleep, Matteo moved slowly, careful not to wake him. He gently eased Adrian’s head off his chest and onto the pillow, making sure he was comfortable.
He paused for a moment, watching him, then leaned down and pressed a soft kiss to his forehead.
Then...
His expression hardened as he turned away from the bed. The warmth in his eyes was replaced by a cold, sharp focus. It was time to deal with Tony.
Matteo walked out of the room...
