Chapter 20- Heart Demon
Shen Yi’an stood there hesitating for a while, but in the end, she still decided to open the door.
As she opened it, just as Shen Yi’an had expected, it was Ye Yuyou.
She carried a bag filled to the brim, gently brushed the hair by her ear, and smiled softly.
“An’an, it’s raining, and it’s quite cold outside. I made some ginger soup~ Drinking it will warm your body~”
“No need.” Shen Yi’an said, subconsciously hiding her injured hand as she forcefully shut the door.
Half a minute passed...
Shen Yi’an slowly opened the door again. Ye Yuyou was still there, revealing a smile full of joy. “An’an~ Can I come in now?”
“Why are you asking me? Even if I don’t let you in, you’d still come in anyway, wouldn’t you?” Shen Yi’an turned around, speaking with her back facing Ye Yuyou.
Hearing this, Ye Yuyou became extremely happy. She closed the door, placed the bag on the table, and took out a thermal container.
“An’an should drink it while it’s hot~ Also, I brought An’an’s favorite beef rolls too~” After saying this, Ye Yuyou walked over and sat beside Shen Yi’an.
“I’m not hungry. You eat.” Shen Yi’an said, unconsciously crossing her arms.
“But An’an~”
Ye Yuyou smiled as she turned to look at Shen Yi’an. When she saw Shen Yi’an’s injured right hand, her smile abruptly froze.
“An’an, how did you get hurt!” Ye Yuyou asked in a flustered and anxious tone.
Clearly, when they had parted earlier, she hadn’t been injured!
Hearing this, Shen Yi’an momentarily felt like a child who had done something wrong. This was the first time Ye Yuyou had spoken to her in such an angry tone.
“An’an~ You have me by your side~ I’ll always be by your side~ So~ if you feel upset, you can tell me, we…”
“No need for you to meddle.” Shen Yi’an snapped.
“How can I not care!” Ye Yuyou grew so anxious that tears welled up in her eyes; she didn’t want Shen Yi’an to repeat the same mistakes again. “When An’an gets hurt, my heart aches! It hurts so, so much!”
“An’an! I can indulge you in anything, but this one matter—I won’t allow it!” Ye Yuyou said emotionally.
“Won’t allow it?” Shen Yi’an’s face darkened as she vented the emotions she had long suppressed at Ye Yuyou. “You say you won’t allow it, so that makes it forbidden? Who do you think you are to me?”
“Do you think that just because you treat me well in this life, I’ll fall in love with you again?”
“Ye Yuyou, let me tell you! Even if I end up alone until I die, I will never be with you! Because you are a complete and utter liar!”
“You keep saying you’ll stay by my side and love me forever, but every time I needed you, where were you?!”
“I don’t blame you, and it’s not your fault—but can you stop pestering me already? Leave this place! Never appear again!”
Shen Yi’an pointed at the door, tears glistening at the corners of her eyes.
Every single word she said cut into Ye Yuyou’s heart like knives.
Only then did Ye Yuyou understand that all the emotions buried deep in An’an’s heart had stemmed from her.
She moved closer to Shen Yi’an, her face full of guilt and heartache as she explained, “An’an～In my previous life, I didn’t intentionally abandon you～At that time, the doctor said your condition was very serious and needed me to be your therapist.”
“But you were afraid of the outside world, and your treatment couldn’t be stopped, so I couldn’t take you with me. I could only choose to leave you behind and transfer abroad to further study in the field of depression.”
“It was all my fault. Back then, I didn’t realize that the best treatment for you was simply to stay by your side.”
“An’an, I know I was wrong! I won’t repeat the same mistake again!”
Ye Yuyou tightly embraced Shen Yi’an, unwilling to let go no matter what.
“At this point…” Shen Yi’an grabbed Ye Yuyou by the shoulders and pushed her away, “what meaning do these explanations even have anymore?”
Shen Yi’an’s voice was filled with anger and trembling. The world before her eyes became hazy, splitting apart into fragments.
Ye Yuyou, in her vision, turned into a terrifying, blurred shadow.
Shen Yi’an’s breathing grew rapid, her body nearly losing balance, while a piercing ringing sound echoed in her ears.
“An’an! An’an!”
Ye Yuyou held onto Shen Yi’an, calling out anxiously, but Shen Yi’an only heard a faint, indistinct voice.
A blood-red hue stained her eyes, and a blood-soaked figure gradually condensed into Shen Yi’an’s own appearance.
It quietly looked at Shen Yi’an, while Shen Yi’an stared back blankly at it.
“Kill her.” The blood shadow slowly raised its hand, pointing toward Ye Yuyou, its voice thick with unmistakable hatred.
Shen Yi’an stood there, stunned and unmoving, allowing strands of blood formed from the shadow to surge into her body.
The blood shadow disappeared, yet everything Shen Yi’an saw remained a field of crimson.
Ye Yuyou, full of worry, caressed her cheek as tears streamed down her face.
“An’an! What’s wrong, An’an!”
In a fluster, Ye Yuyou tried to comfort Shen Yi’an while taking out her phone to call a doctor.
But Shen Yi’an had already developed the intent to kill Ye Yuyou.
The reason she felt so lost was not her own fault, but because of Ye Yuyou, who stubbornly clung to her side without letting go!
