Chapter 4 : The Hacker Girl
Chapter 4: The Hacker Girl
To the outside world, Wang Xinyue maintained the image of a gentle and refined young lady. As a result, she was admired by countless people, and it was inevitable that wealthy young men would come proposing marriage.
Being from a prominent family herself, Wang Xinyue wanted to preserve her relationship with her girlfriend while also avoiding conflicts with other powerful families. So, she used Shen Yi’an as a shield.
And Shen Yi’an had been a clown, completely unaware of it all.
She took the fragments of memory from last night—Wang Xinyue’s disgraceful behavior—and had the system turn them into a video, storing it inside a USB drive.
After that, she prepared to find someone—someone she was very familiar with.
…
At the entrance of a dim alley.
Shen Yi’an crouched there, occasionally raising her hand to check the time.
According to the timeline in her memories, it should be soon.
In her previous life, she had met a top-tier hacker, and they had helped each other many times.
Her gaze shifted upward. A black-haired girl with bangs covering one eye, dressed in a loose shirt, was walking toward her while carrying a large bag of food.
Her walking posture felt gloomy, giving off the impression that she could knock someone flying with a single punch.
“Xiao Xiaoxiao,” Shen Yi’an said slowly, looking at the girl who was currently performing facial recognition.
Xiao Xiaoxiao was startled, her reaction like a frightened cat bristling its fur.
“Y-you… who are you?!”
“Your client,” Shen Yi’an replied, walking calmly to Xiao Xiaoxiao’s side.
Xiao Xiaoxiao looked up at the woman who was two heads taller than her, her face full of fear.
How did this woman know her name—and even know she was a hacker?
So scary! It felt like her privacy had been completely exposed!
“Why are you just standing there? Don’t worry, I’m not a bad person.”
Shen Yi’an stepped onto the stairs. Xiao Xiaoxiao froze for a moment before quickly following after her.
Why does it feel like she’s the one taking the lead here?!
A short while later, when Shen Yi’an accurately arrived at Xiao Xiaoxiao’s residence, Xiao Xiaoxiao felt a chill run down her spine.
As a hacker, she couldn’t find even the slightest information about the woman in front of her.
Yet this woman seemed to know everything about her, as if she could see right through her. Could she be from some international investigation agency, entering her home to look for evidence?
Thinking of this, Xiao Xiaoxiao suddenly burst into tears with a loud “Waa!”
“Wuuu! Officer, sir! There’s nothing on my computer! Just a few terabytes of biology materials! Please don’t arrest me!”
Hearing the heart-wrenching sobs, Shen Yi’an sighed speechlessly and reached out to pat Xiao Xiaoxiao’s head.
“Sigh~ you silly girl. Didn’t I say that already? I’m your client.”
Whether it was because Shen Yi’an’s touch felt too comforting, or because she realized Shen Yi’an wasn’t an investigator, the crying abruptly stopped.
“Then how do you know my information?” Xiao Xiaoxiao remained cautious and didn’t take out her house key.
At this, Shen Yi’an smiled faintly, devoid of emotion. “Big sis even carried you in her arms when you were little~ Have you forgotten?”
“So that’s how it is!” Xiao Xiaoxiao believed her. She opened the door and invited Shen Yi’an inside. “Sorry, big sis, I was rude just now.”
Xiao Xiaoxiao bowed sincerely.
Shen Yi’an: “……”
Still just as a bit silly as in her previous life.
The interior of the house was quite spacious, with a large living room and bright lighting. However, despite the ventilation, there was still a strong smell of medicine lingering in the air.
Xiao Xiaoxiao led Shen Yi’an into a room near the outside and said, “Alright, tell me—what do you need me to do?”
“Tomorrow evening, upload the video in this USB drive onto the internet, and push it to the number one trending spot. Keep it from being taken down for three days. Five million, and it’s yours,” Shen Yi’an said.
“How much!?”
As for Shen Yi’an’s request, Xiao Xiaoxiao could easily handle it, but the amount was far too high—she had never seen such a large sum before.
“I’ll take the job! Just wait for good news!” Xiao Xiaoxiao agreed without hesitation. What she lacked most right now was money, and this payment would solve her urgent needs.
“The money’s all here. The password is 951753.” As Shen Yi’an spoke, she took out a bank card issued by the system and placed it on the table.
Looking at the card, Xiao Xiaoxiao asked in confusion, “You’re paying in full upfront? You trust me that much?”
“If I didn’t trust you, I wouldn’t have come to you,” Shen Yi’an replied calmly.
After saying that, she walked toward the door. Just as she was about to leave, Xiao Xiaoxiao called out to her.
“Um… want a glass of juice before you go? Otherwise I won’t feel right…”
“No need. I won’t compete with you for drinks.”
Shen Yi’an shook her head. As she stepped out of the room, a fragment of broken memory surfaced in her mind.
In her previous life, Xiao Xiaoxiao had been like a little sister to her—always clinging to her, acting spoiled, and helping her unconditionally no matter what.
She had cherished and liked this little sister very much.
Xiao Xiaoxiao’s life had been tragic—abandoned by her mother, and forced to support a father suffering from ALS.
Because of this, she had given up her education and become a hacker.
Later, her father died, and she herself was diagnosed with severe ALS.
Shen Yi’an did not want to experience the pain of parting again, so she chose to avoid getting too involved with Xiao Xiaoxiao.
“Are you really not having a glass of juice before you go?” Xiao Xiaoxiao asked, looking at Shen Yi’an waiting for the elevator.
Shen Yi’an did not reply, only waving her hand in refusal.
“Hopefully this money will let you live a happier life this time, little sister Xiaoxiao,” Shen Yi’an thought as she stepped into the elevator.
“Hey, beauty, wanna exchange contact info?” In the corner of the elevator, a fat man with a gold tooth, smoking a cigarette, spoke up.
Shen Yi’an tapped on the no-smoking sign and said coldly, “Didn’t you see that sign?”
Hearing this, the fat man leisurely took out two cigarettes and lit them, speaking arrogantly, “Beauty, I’m smoking two.”
The elevator reached the first floor. Shen Yi’an expressionlessly walked to the entrance of the stairwell and crooked her finger at the fat man.
“Come here.”
Her voice was cool and pleasant, and her appearance was stunning. The fat man couldn’t resist the temptation—he spat out his cigarette and followed her into the stairwell with a lecherous grin.
Not long after.
Shen Yi’an dusted off her hands and walked out calmly, while the fat man lay on the steps with a bruised and battered face, two lit cigarettes still stuck in his nostrils.
