Chapter 182, Long Tianyu’s Treasury
Three days after the conversion, Lin Yi sat cross-legged at the back of a cave in the mid-atmospheric island cluster zone with Long Tianyu’s storage space token in his left hand and his Heavenly Appraisal skill active.
The cave was not the Upgrade Altar cave. A different one, smaller, unremarkable, set into the side of an island formation that Predatory Instinct had confirmed had no monster population within its interior. It served the purpose of a temporary location that was not exposed to the open atmospheric layer, which was the only requirement he had for it.
The Dragon Knight Guardian was somewhere in the cluster zones to the east, generating experience with the sustained output of a level 192 entity operating under the conversion’s behavioral directive. The kill notifications had been arriving in steady intervals since the second day, the guardian working through monster populations at a pace that Long Tianyu’s twenty-two years of accumulated combat capability produced without the interruptions that conscious decision-making would have introduced. It did not rest. It did not eat. It did not reassess engagements that were going poorly. It engaged until the target was gone and then found the next target.
The EXP transfer notifications had become background.

[Level 248 — EXP Accumulated: 28,400,000,000 / Threshold Unknown]

Level 248. Two levels remaining. Eleven days of event time. The math was viable. Not comfortable, but viable, which was a significant improvement from the tight and uncertain condition it had been in before the guardian conversion changed the accumulation rate.
He turned his attention to the storage token.
Long Tianyu had been operating in the Allheaven Expanse for the same duration Lin Yi had, accumulating material drops through his own hunting and through the Heavenfall Guild’s coordinated output. His many years of active hunting before the event had produced a baseline collection of items that the Dragon Knight had carried into the expanse at entry. The combined contents of both the pre-event inventory and the event accumulation were in the token.
He activated Heavenly Appraisal and directed it at the token’s contents systematically.
The first layer of items was weapons. He scanned through them efficiently because the appraisal’ s output was immediate and each assessment took only the moment required to read the result.
Long sword, Legendary grade. Attack power enhancement appropriate for a high level hunter in the 120 to 150 level bracket. He set it aside mentally.
Paired daggers, Legendary grade. Speed enhancement secondary effect. Not relevant to his combat framework.
A bow, Legendary grade, clearly acquired for a guild member rather than personal use. Standard Legendary output for the classification.
He moved through fourteen weapons in the first scan pass. All Legendary grade. Each one assessed, categorized, and set aside. Against his current profile, a Legendary weapon was not a relevant upgrade consideration. He had an Abyssal weapon. The comparison was categorical rather than marginal.
"Crap," he said quietly, dismissing Long Tianyu legendary grade weapons. "All crap."
He moved to the armor pieces.
Chest plate, Legendary grade. Physical defense values appropriate for the tier. His own passive defensive stack exceeded it without the item’s contribution. He set it aside.
Leg guards, Legendary grade. Movement enhancement secondary effect. Not relevant.
Gauntlets, Legendary grade. Grip enhancement. His Titan Grip class skill already addressed that function. He set it aside.
Seven armor pieces total, all Legendary. He moved through them at the same pace as the weapons.
"Still crap," he said.
Support items. Potions, recovery elixirs, energy cores of various grades. Most of this category was functional rather than exceptional, the kind of supply stock that a high level hunter maintained for extended operations. He noted the superior quality items that would replenish his own supply reserves and moved on.
Then the accessories layer.
He slowed down here.
Three rings, Legendary grade. Defense, speed, and Spirit enhancement respectively. Each one assessed individually. None of them added to his current configuration at a level that changed his operational profile. He set all three aside.
Two amulets, Legendary grade. One with a skill cooldown reduction property, which was genuinely functional at its tier but below what Flow State’s passive skill cost reduction already provided. The other with an experience gain bonus, which would have been highly relevant before the slave mark’s redirection mechanic made the experience gain bonus irrelevant.
"The irony," he said, dismissing them as crap as well.
He continued.
Four items that were not weapons, not armor, and not standard accessories. He reached them in the scan sequence and the Heavenly Appraisal’ s output produced a different quality of information than everything that had preceded them.
Cataclysmic grade.
He stopped.
He looked at the first one properly.

[Heavenly Appraisal — Item Result]
Dragon God’s Eye (Cataclysmic Rank):
Type: Perception Enhancement — Passive Integration
A crystallized remnant of a Dragon God’s sensory organ, formed over centuries of accumulation within a high tier dimensional environment. When integrated into the user’s system, permanently enhances all perception based capabilities. Any perception Instinct range extended by a factor scaling with Spirit. True Sight penetration depth increased. Dao Sense early warning radius doubled. Passive threat detection accuracy increased to near perfect. Additionally, any weak point identification provided by Predatory Instinct is upgraded from structural identification to precise spatial mapping, providing the exact dimensional coordinates of weak points rather than general location.
---
He read it twice.
Predatory Instinct was already operating at a level where it provided real-time weak point identification across the engagement range. The Dragon God’s Eye extended the range, increased the accuracy of every perception based skill he had, and upgraded the weak point identification from general location to precise spatial coordinates.
"That is not crap," he said. He said it with the specific tone of someone who has been reading a list of things that are crap and has reached something that is not.
He moved to the second.
