Chapter 163: If I Suck It, It Won’t Hurt Anymore?
A searing heat on her waist startled Qiao Xixi, nearly making her leap to her feet.
She slapped his hand away in annoyance, but he pushed her down onto the beast-hide mat.
Sangze grinned and kissed her cheek, his eyes alight with raw desire.
"My little female, let’s mate. I love your scent."
"You can’t force Mother to do anything!" A small, scarlet snake slithered in, glaring furiously at Sangze.
Sangqi also blocked Sangze’s path with his small, dark head.
"Brother Qiao Lie is right! Father, you can’t bully Mother."
The corner of Sangze’s eye twitched. He simply picked up the two little ones and tossed them aside.
"Sangze."
Sangze froze and looked back at her. "Hm?"
Qiao Xixi came up behind him. He was so tall she had to stand on her tiptoes and lower her voice. "You probably don’t know this, but mating is only pleasurable when two people actually like each other."
"Hm?"
Sangze turned, his forehead nearly touching hers. "My little female, are you trying to trick me?"
Qiao Xixi forced herself to stay calm. "If you don’t believe me, we can put it to the test. See for yourself. Once we actually... genuinely like each other, and *then* we... do it, won’t it be more pleasurable?"
Sangze slowly straightened up, watching her with a thoughtful expression.
"Sounds like it’s worth a try."
"Exactly. It’s not like I can go anywhere right now, anyway."
"Then I’ll do as you say." Sangze tossed the two little ones back onto the beast-hide mat and wrapped an arm around Qiao Xixi’s waist. "So, my little female... have you fallen for me yet?"
Qiao Xixi: ...
’Even taking a dump isn’t this fast!’
Before Qiao Xixi could react, Sangze suddenly looked up toward the horizon.
"Looks like something’s coming to ruin the mood."
He picked up the two little ones again and pushed them into Qiao Xixi’s arms. "Since my little female hasn’t fallen for me yet, I’ll wait a little longer. I have to go deal with a small problem. You stay here with the cubs and don’t wander off."
After he spoke, Sangze cut his finger, dripped a circle of blood around Qiao Xixi and the cubs, and then returned to her, holding up his injured hand.
"Oww, it hurts. My little female, will you blow on it for me?"
Qiao Xixi wanted to roll her eyes at him, but she knew he’d done this to protect them. So she grabbed his hand, stuck it right in her mouth, and sucked hard.
Sangze’s mismatched eyes slowly darkened, and he looked at her as if he wanted to devour her whole.
Qiao Xixi let go and spat the blood onto the beast hide.
"There. It doesn’t hurt anymore now, does it?"
Sangze gently rubbed his fingertip, as if savoring the sensation.
"It hurts." He took her hand, pressed it against his abs, and guided it downward... His voice was hoarse. "It hurts... here."
Seeing Qiao Xixi’s annoyance, he let go and gave her a quick kiss on the lips. "I’ll be back soon." With that, his figure faded into the darkness.
After a moment’s thought, Qiao Xixi called out to his retreating figure, "I’ll wait for you to come back and tell me your story. After I hear it... maybe I’ll start to like you. A little."
From the darkness, Sangze looked back and let out a boisterous laugh that seemed to chase away the shadows. "A little... won’t be enough."
After his back disappeared into the gloom, Qiao Xixi carried the cubs back into the shelter and lay down.
The moment they lay down, the Long-tongued Vine grew on its own, enclosing Qiao Xixi and the cubs, leaving only a few small gaps.
Both cubs snuggled into her arms and closed their eyes, but Qiao Xixi couldn’t fall asleep.
She gently stroked the cubs’ backs, her thoughts drifting to what Sangze had said earlier that day.
’He said the Divine Leopard Tribe wouldn’t just let this go... So the "small problem" he went to deal with... was it the beastmen from the Divine Leopard Tribe?’
’Could they have gotten here so quickly?’
What Qiao Xixi didn’t know was that danger was closing in on them at that very moment.
The night wind scattered the scent of the blood Sangze had dripped. The nearby wild animals and Mutant Beasts smelled it and dared not approach the shelter.
However, the spreading scent also reached a giant Golden Eagle Beast high in the sky.
Its yellow-green pupils reflected an eerie, cold light in the moonlight. Following the scent of blood, it descended rapidly, landing in an unremarkable mountain hollow.
Its night vision was excellent. It immediately spotted the Long-tongued Vine shelter at the base of a large tree—the source of Sangze’s blood scent.
Jin Hui’s eagle-like eyes swiveled. He slowly spread his wings, nearly blotting out the moonlight.
Qiao Xixi was already wide awake. When the light filtering into the shelter suddenly dimmed, she sat up in surprise. Peeking through a gap in the vines, she saw the Golden Eagle Beast perched in the hollow—it was so massive it blocked out the entire patch of moonlight!
Even from such a distance, Qiao Xixi could clearly feel the immense power radiating from the Golden Eagle Beast.
Qiao Xixi’s gaze immediately fell on the sleeping Sangqi. ’It’s not here for Sangze and his son, is it?’
Qiao Xixi immediately pulled a medicinal powder from her storage space and sprinkled it over Sangqi to hide his scent.
Just as she finished, a powerful gust of wind struck them, making the Long-tongued Vine shelter sway violently.
The two cubs were startled awake.
"Mother, what’s happening?"
Qiao Lie sat bolt upright, instantly sensing the dangerous aura. He immediately stood up, placing himself in front of Qiao Xixi.
"Mother, a powerful male is here. We have to leave, now."
"Right."
Qiao Xixi took out some beast-hide straps and tied Sangqi, who had limited mobility, to her back. She scooped up Qiao Lie with her other arm, then pulled out the Invisibility Cloak and dug up the Long-tongued Vine’s seed.
The instant the shelter vanished, she quickly threw the cloak over them.
Jin Hui flapped his wings powerfully, trying to blow the shelter away. But strangely, once the shelter was gone, there was nothing inside.
A flash of dim golden light flared, and the enormous golden eagle transformed into a tall, sturdy, middle-aged man with golden eyes and eyebrows.
He strode to the base of the large tree, crouched down, and touched the bloodstain on the ground, his brow furrowing.
"Was that scent just now only from these bloodstains?"
’But I could have sworn I smelled something else just now.’
Carrying the cubs, Qiao Xixi hurried toward the Saint Crystal mine. It was a more remote area, better for hiding.
Jin Hui was about to leave when his eyes fell upon a small dog on the ground, woven from weeds.
He lifted the little dog to his nose and sniffed. "A female Wandering Beast, a Heaven-Swallowing Giant Python... and the scent of Sangze’s bloodline. So, they *were* here."
Jin Hui tossed the weed dog into the air. In his vision, the scents clinging to it formed a golden thread that snaked deep into the forest.
With a flash, the tall figure vanished, following the golden thread in pursuit.
At that moment, Qiao Xixi had no idea she was about to be overtaken.
She sprinted with the cubs, and just as she was about to reach the mine, Jin Hui caught up to them.
By now, the Invisibility Cloak’s effect had long since worn off. Qiao Xixi and the cubs were completely exposed, right under Jin Hui’s nose.
"So, there you are."
Qiao Xixi looked back to see Jin Hui closing in fast. She shoved several Bubble Fruits into Qiao Lie’s hands.
"Qiao Lie, when he gets close—detonate! And the Dull Liquid—spray!"
"Okay."
Qiao Lie gripped the Bubble Fruits tightly. Just as Jin Hui’s hand was about to grab him, he threw the Bubble Fruits!
