The Lust Lord Librarian

Chapter 134: Opening The Gate

Adal sat on a bench outside of his library with Dadonus by his side. The librarian had his phone open and was looking at the world map.

Dadonus looked over his shoulder, carefully eyeing the strange technology with intrigue.

"In all my years on Boen and in the heavens, I have never seen such a thing. What is that?" the god asked.

Adal didn’t give him the full answer. It was important for him to keep secrets, even if it was a god asking the question.

"The world has changed since you were last here. How long ago was that, by the way?"

Dadonus thought for a few moments, rubbing his smooth chin. Then he answered.

"Around one thousand years ago. That was when I ascended to the heavens. From the heavens, I watched the world from above for roughly 500 years. Then, I was trapped in my own skill for another 500 years."

500 years trapped in your own skill.

Adal couldn’t imagine suffering such a fate.

"Who was it that trapped you in there?" he asked, desperate to know. The god shook his head.

"I would not even utter their name, in case it drew attention to myself."

"..."

That did not sound like something Adal wished to get involved with. He already had so much on his plate.

So, he ignored it for now and moved his attention back to the task at hand.

On the world map, he navigated to the land owned by the Coalition of Orcs. The Coalition of Orcs were three separate orc factions located to the east of Fairwhite City. These factions had formed an alliance.

Since orcs were less likely to awaken classes linked to intelligence, they were behind when it came to developments within their lands. So, to combat this, they decided it would be best to join forces rather than fight amongst themselves.

They created a democracy that would allow the people to make decisions regarding the land, rather than a single ruler leading them. However, each of the three factions did have their own representatives.

The orcs were not hostile with any groups other than the goblins, who were a part of their own people but outcast. Goblins were the ones who gave a bad name to the orcs, so it only made sense for them to hold a grudge against the pillaging creatures.

"Your task is difficult, Dadonus. Are you sure you are up for this?" he asked with a raised brow.

Dadonus nodded his head immediately.

"I said I would help you, didn’t I?"

And so, Adal explained.

...

Dadonus would use his incredible speed to travel to a small cave located in the land of the orcs. This would be the location where the portal would open, and Adal chose it because it was unlikely to be found.

Once there, Dadonus would activate a skill that would connect the two. He would use a simple, harmless skill named Escape. This would allow Dadonus to escape any skill that his opponent used to try and bind his movement in any way. Of course, the skill itself didn’t matter, as it was just a requirement to open the gate.

Once connected, the gate would open once they focused on their connected skill, so long as they were far enough apart. If they were too close, they would have to create a different type of portal, which was a much longer process.

From there, the pair would be sent into the Lands Between and forced to find each other. Once found, they would be returned to their bodies, and the gate would be established.

However, as the Lands Between was filled with monsters, the duo agreed that instead of them both trying to find each other, it would be Dadonus who came and found Adal.

This made sense. After all, he was clearly the stronger of the two, being level 71.

Adal would stay hidden in his library and hope that he was not attacked by any monsters, whilst Dadonus would be putting his life at risk.

When he asked the god if he was sure, he explained that back when he was on earth, he had spent many days in the Lands Between. This was not something that he could not handle, even if it was dangerous.

So, with that, Adal made his way up to his room, locked his door, and sat on his bed.

...

Dadonus travelled fast, using his skill, Dash V, to cover the distance at speeds that even a horse could not match.

It took him less than an hour to arrive at the border between the lands of the humans and orcs.

He stood on the top of a hill, overlooking the brilliant land. Despite what they said about their intelligence, their cities were beautiful and grand in ways that the humans would not be able to understand.

Adal needs to see this. I think he will love it.

He remained there, admiring the landscape for ten minutes before continuing on to the destination that Adal had told him to travel to.

He travelled deep into the unknown cave. On the way down, he spotted no orcs or humanoid life - only a few animals, which he killed with ease.

Once deep enough in the cave, he sat in an open rocky space that surrounded a natural spring. He decided that this would be the location.

Dadonus activated his skill that linked him to the librarian.

He waited for a few moments, listening to the sound of steady drips landing in the water around him.

After a minute passed of him focusing on the skill, he felt his body shifting.

Adal must have done his part.

Dadonus was thrust into the Lands Between...

...

To a less knowledgeable man, the two worlds would seem identical. Dadonus had indeed felt his body shift, but other than that, the lands seemed exactly the same.

He made his way out of the cave with no trouble. Everything seemed normal.

Then, he exited the cave, and that was when it became clear to him that he was no longer in his world.

Everything was black and white. The skies, and even the grass.

And ahead of him, a creature approached that could never exist in the real world.
