The Lust Lord Librarian

Chapter 127: End Of The Battle

The sun elf forces had left the cathedral in order to charge towards the approaching Iglantians.

The two forces clashed with great noise and violence. Sword met sword, and spells met spells.

Archers stood atop the cathedral in order to use ranged attacks to pick off any stray Iglantians who attacked from the skies.

Meanwhile, Adal’s attention was on a singular figure at the head of the Iglantis army. He recognised the figure well.

It was Virtue Overlove, Opal’s brother, who was leading the army. The man easily stood out, as he was the only one wearing a crown fitted into the helmet of his armour, signalling that he was the prince.

If I take him out, then this battle is won.

Adal descended with speed, whilst signalling to Nimrodel to join the battle. The assassin leapt from his back and landed in the centre of the Iglantis army, taking down two soldiers with her.

That left Adal to focus on the leader of the army.

As he approached with speed, Virtue must have felt his presence, as the man looked up to the skies and spotted him.

He was holding a longsword, almost as tall as a man.

"Leave him!" Virtue roared to his men, forcing them to clear a space. "He’s mine!"

It seemed that the young prince recognised Adal as the man who had been picking off his forces in the sky and personally wanted to punish him.

Adal drew his weapon, his trusty sword, which made his opponent prepare for a clash.

But then, right before it, Adal smiled.

He reached into the pocket of his trench coat and pulled out a different item.

Dadon’s Cube.

It was a small black cube with purple, star-like spots mottled across it that he kept on his body at all times.

When purchasing the item, he had always wondered when he would get to use it.

It was a powerful item, after all. One that would trap a being inside Dadon’s realm, who was supposed to be the god of entrapment.

There would be no escaping such a place.

When Virtue spotted the small cube in his opponent’s hand, he immediately suspected that it was some sort of magical artefact.

Being a powerful fighter, he attempted to defend himself with a skill. A golden bubble formed around him, creating a protective barrier that could defend him from physical and magical attacks.

Unfortunately for him, Dadon’s Cube transcended both of those things.

Adal threw the cube and watched as it bounced against the golden bubble. The purple stars on its surface began to glow brightly, as though they had truly been taken from space, and then...

The cube exploded. A blinding purple light encapsulated their entire surroundings, forcing the battle to momentarily pause.

Everybody shielded their eyes. Moments later, the light faded enough for sight to return.

All of the Iglantians turned to where their leader should have been standing. The prince who, by order of the king, was supposed to lead them into the city and take the head of the queen and many other powerful figures.

But when they looked, he was not there.

All that was left was a small black cube resting on the ground, with a winged human standing over it.

As the human reached down to pick it up, his brilliant white wings fluttered and glowed.

At that moment, they thought that they had come face to face with a true angel, an angel who had defeated their level 32 leader with absolute ease.

If the angel could beat Virtue, seemingly erasing him from existence, then what fate awaited them?

After pocketing Dadon’s Cube, Adal looked around. Many of the Iglantians had dropped their weapons and lifted their hands in surrender.

It would not save them.

The sun elves took the opportunity to strike, bringing various weapons and spells down on their vulnerable opponents. Some Iglantians tried to fight back, but with their morale so low, it was no use.

Soon, the news of Prince Virtue’s death would spread throughout the rest of the city, where a few other battles still took place. Morale would drop there too, and the fight would be lost.

As Adal stood at the centre of the battlefield, he looked down at the cube in his hand, the cube he had earned only because of the advantage offered to him by the smartphone.

I have won, and it is Earth technology that has allowed me to.

...

In an unknown location...

When Virtue Overlove’s senses returned to him, he found himself standing in a realm of darkness, lit only by distant purple stars.

He seemed to still have his physical body. He was in no pain and could even move around. However, each footstep felt like he was dragging his legs through water.

"Where am I? Where did that librarian bring me? Curse him!"

Virtue knew that he should have dealt with the man earlier, purely from the fact that his sister loved him so much.

so much that he and his father had to lock her in her room to stop her from trying to intervene in the battle.

Women did not understand the matters of war, he told himself.

But there was no time to dwell on that. Virtue had to figure out a way to escape this strange realm.

...

He walked for what felt like days, yet he never grew tired or fatigued.

Worst of all, the scenery never changed.

He felt himself slowly becoming insane. He just wanted his endless walk to end.

So, he continued.

...

It felt like his feet had been moving for a full year. Still, his body remained strong and sturdy.

His mind, however, had long since broken. It was certain that he had gone insane.

Which was why, when he finally saw a figure standing in the darkness, he wondered whether it was merely his imagination.

He stepped closer and fell to his knees at the figure’s feet.

It looked like a man with long purple hair. The features of his face were obscured by the darkness. He was naked, with a malnourished body.

The figure placed a hand on Virtue’s head.

Then, it spoke.

"Thank you."
