From the shadows cast upon him by the trees, Adal watched the goblins sitting around the campfire.

He slowly manoeuvred himself so that he could get a closer look and hear what they were speaking about.

There were two goblins.

Ibukk, the level 8 pillager. He was a hideous thing, around 5’0 in height, with dark green skin and two teeth that were so long that they stuck out of his mouth. His eyes were droopy, and his body was skinny, except for his belly, which looked swollen. He was dressed in makeshift rags made from what seemed to be cowhide, and he held a wooden club in his hand.

As for the woman... Adal was surprised.

Her name was Frogg, the level 5 shaman. Her skin was also green, but of a shiny, lighter complexion. It was also much smoother than he would have expected from a goblin. She was slightly taller than the man, and she wore makeshift robes made from vines and tree leaves, making her look like a true necromancer. She held a long wooden stick in her hand, which looked like a staff.

Her hair was black, messy, and long, and her face was... cute? She had onyx black eyes, and as for her body, it was shrouded by the clothes, so he could not see what it looked like.

Adal was only certain of one thing: Frogg was surprisingly attractive.

"Ibukk, we can share this squirrel. You do not need to go out and hunt again. It is getting dark. Who knows what will be out there?"

The female goblin pleaded with the male, but it seemed he did not want to listen.

He rested his club over his shoulder and shot an ugly glance at the female.

"Think I give a fuck what’s out there? How many times have I told you, I am the king of the Evergarden Forest! I am the one travellers should fear! I am the— AHH!"

The trees rustled, and Ibukk yelped like a coward. He almost fell onto his ass as he turned to see where the noise had come from.

It was only a blue squirrel.

Frogg just barely managed to contain her laugh as the man composed himself and suddenly started to chase after the squirrel.

Then, she let out a sigh.

"Oh, little brother..." she whispered to herself.

Meanwhile, Adal watched from the trees with his face in his palms.

What a pathetic thing. How did he even manage to reach level 8?

...

Then, he remembered the goblin’s class: Pillager.

He could have simply spent time stealing from innocent humans who passed through the Evergarden Forest. After all, the manner in which someone levelled was directly connected to their main class.

Adal remained hidden in the trees for a moment, watching. But it was not the woman that he was watching, but rather the male, Ibukk.

He wanted to figure out how proficient the goblin was at hunting. By the looks of things, it wasn’t very good.

Adal was no hunter, but he had extensive knowledge on the matter through non-fiction and literature. Rather than laying a trap or hunting the blue squirrel with ranged weaponry, the goblin chased the creature like a brute, trying his best to clobber it with his wooden club.

At this rate, the goblin would not be eating until morning.

...

Seeing this, Adal commenced.

~~~
Frogg remained seated by the fireplace, twirling her hair as she watched her meal turning cold in front of her. She was so hungry and wanted to eat, but she had a feeling her brother would fail to catch his own food and wanted to share with him.
She was lost in a hunger daze when she heard the shrubbery rustle behind her. Her eyes lit up as she turned around, expecting to see her brother.
She was in for a great shock.
Instead of seeing the small goblin boy, Frogg turned and saw what she thought was a giant.
She had seen few humans in her lifetime, but this one looked greater than any others. He stood tall, towering over her with ease, and his hair was a mixture of yellow and white. He was dressed in all black, apart from a white undershirt that looked foreign to the goblin.
That was all she was able to process before reaching for her staff fearfully.
The staff was not magical, but weak necromancers always needed an item to conduct their magic through. Since she had no access to a true staff or wand, it would have to do.
She looked at her meal in front of her and used her skill: Raise Corpse.
A purple energy flew from her makeshift staff and crashed into the burnt squirrel. Its body sizzled and cracked before it rose from the dead, stronger than it had ever been before, thanks to her spell.
In her mind, she commanded the squirrel to attack the man, who had not yet moved an inch. In fact, he still stood there with his hands in his pockets.
The burnt zombie squirrel growled as it charged. Meanwhile, Frogg was already preparing her next skill.
...
Adal smirked as he watched the small creature racing toward him with its teeth bared.
A zombie squirrel. Are we being serious?
Adal didn’t even need to lift a finger to beat the creature. He simply converted his Lust Mana into Earth Mana and willed the ground in front of him to rise.
It created a muddy, grassy wall that the squirrel crashed into, stunned. Before it could regain its bearing, the wall turned into a dome that covered the squirrel’s entire body.
Adal willed for the dome to shrink into a tiny ball, and in the process, it crushed the squirrel within it.
The sounds of bones and flesh squelched beneath the dome.
By the time it was done, Adal looked up at the goblin. She stood there in disbelief, her staff shaking in her grasp.
He flashed her a smile.
"Don’t worry, I’m not here to hurt you. I just need to see you naked."
