Chapter 93: Kill The King
"Wake up, Olympia. Take this as well, so that you might maintain your modesty."
Olympia Hightower was woken up by a piece of clothing tossed onto her body. When she woke up, she saw that it was her black dress that had been stripped from her by the sun elves.
Hurriedly, she rubbed the sleep from her eyes and donned the clothing. After all, that man had come to see her. The one who for some reason, made her feel extremely nervous.
"T-thank you." The snow elf said, now fully clothed, except for being bare foot.
She made her way over to the bars of her cell and looked at the librarian and the woman he had brought with him.
"Please, you have to let me go! The sun elves, they will..."
"Don’t worry, I will let you go. And I have already ordered them not to harm you. To be honest, I’m not pleased that they have removed your clothing, but I’m sure they only did that for safety measures. Did any of them touch you inappropriately?"
Olympia shook her head.
"No. In fact, they were very careful not to even look."
Adal smiled, pleased.
"Good. Though I do feel sorry for them. It’s quite a beautiful body. They missed getting to see it."
Olympia’s cheeks blushed bright red. She suddenly struggled to meet the man’s eyes and found herself trying to cover her body with her arms and hands.
Adal ignored her cute nervousness and got to the matter at hand. He reached into his trench coat pocket and withdrew the item he had previously confiscated from the woman.
The explosive from Earth.
"This item. Where did you obtain it?" He asked her.
"At an auction," Olympia answered. "There are many auctions that take place around the realms. Secret auctions, where those involved are forced to hide their features so that they might not expose their business."
Interesting. It is the same way that Opal had come into possession of the Smartphone and Vibrator.
I should make sure to check one of these auctions out at some point... I certainly have enough money for it, but not enough time in my schedule.
"Interesting. Well, I am glad you have brought the artefact to me. I want you to use them, but of course, not to blow up my library."
Olympia blinked as she waited for the man to continue.
"I would like you to return to your kingdom, and use the explosives on the man who has ordered you to do this."
Immediately, Olympia’s eyes went wide. Her hands grabbed the bars of her cell and she pleaded.
"No, I couldn’t! The king would never fall to a mere explosive, and if I happened to fail, the torture that I would have to face..."
Her body shuddered at the thought of it. She had heard tales about what other criminals had experienced, and had no intentions to join them.
Adal chuckled, expecting such an answer.
"Fine, then your only other option is to use it on the next best person."
"..."
The words hung in the air for a few moments, as Olympia thought. Then, she realised what he was implying.
"You cannot mean—"
"Yes. Your lover, Prince August Frostsword. The oldest son of the king, and next in line to the throne. I have done my research. I know that his father is on his deathbed, and his son is winning the succession war against his brothers. His death would be just as meaningful as his father’s, and I’m sure that he was also an accomplice in the plan to kill me?"
After hearing the Librarian’s words, Olympia’s heart felt like it had dropped in its chest. The cold and calm manner in which the man spoke the words stabbed her deeply, and at that moment, all she could think about was her lover.
"No, you couldn’t do that to me. Not to my lover!"
Her eyes turned to Penelope, who stood there calmly, then back to Adal.
"Look, you understand love. How would you feel if someone were to force you into a position where you had to kill her? Don’t you have any empathy? Are you a hypocrite?"
The snow elf tried to appeal to emotions. Adal had them. Plenty of them. Yet still, he laughed.
"The difference between me and you, Olympia, is that I would never end up in this position in the first place. If I did, however, I would do whatever I could to keep my women safe."
The answer touched Penelope, and Olympia found that it resonated with her too.
She knew that she felt the same. She would do whatever she could to protect her August, even if it meant risking her life.
She paused for a few seconds and looked down at the ground. Then, she took in a deep breath, preparing to give her answer.
"I will do it." She then said resolutely. "I will kill the King."
~~~
Not long afterwards, Adal was seen leaving the Prison Tower with two women beside him.
Penelope, who walked tall and proud.
And Olympia, who made sure to stay close to Adal, in fear that the Sun Elves might try to attack her when they saw that she was no longer in her cell.
When they spotted the woman walking freely, some reached for their weaponry. However, a raised hand from Nimrodel stopped them in their tracks.
The beautiful, petite woman made her way over to the trio and spoke to Adal.
"I assume she has agreed to the plan that we spoke of?"
Adal nodded his head proudly.
"Yes. By the end of the week, King Roman Frostsword will either die by explosives, or Olympia here will become a victim of the man’s torture. Let us hope it is the former."
Olympia’s body shivered as she saw Nimrodel smiling at Adal’s words.
"I personally would not mind either option." The sun elf said honestly. "However, Roman is a man I would like to see dead more than any other. Let us hope the concubine here can pull it off."
