Before the female ghost could even react, a smell shot straight to the crown of her head, so potent it felt like it would blow her skullcap right off.
Her first instinct was to spit it out, but the moment her mouth opened even slightly, Su Nian’s quick hands clamped it shut.
"Bastard, look me in the eye!"
The female ghost: ???
Before she could react, Su Nian gently brushed the bangs from her forehead.
The female ghost didn’t feel the least bit comforted. Instead, a cold dread washed over her. ’What is this Demon planning now?’
But Su Nian, a smile on her face, pulled out the latest brand of wasabi.
The female ghost’s eyes flew wide open, but before she could react, Su Nian mercilessly squeezed the wasabi into them.
"AHHHHH!!!"
A piercing shriek tore through the sky, and the ghosts following behind broke into triumphant smiles.
’Wasn’t she supposed to be tough?’
’Giving up this easily?’
The approaching Daoist also felt a jolt of alarm. ’Fellow Daoist Su, please don’t let anything go wrong.’
He reconsidered. She was still a young woman. Even with all her skills, she was probably terrified of these ghosts.
His anxiety mounted, but Master Jin, who was bringing up the rear, just yawned helplessly.
"Daoist Qingran, relax. Master Su will be fine!"
"You shut your mouth, you little punk! If anything happens to Master Su, I’ll skin you alive!!!"
Master Jin looked aggrieved. "I was just saying..."
Meanwhile, the ghosts quickened their pace.
They were eager to see just how tough this person their master called "hard to deal with" really was. ’Right now, she just looks scared out of her mind.’

Su Nian wore a gentle smile. Her usual arrogance was gone, replaced by something that was somehow even more terrifying.
"AHHHHH! IT’S SO SPICY!!"
But the only response she got was the female ghost’s incessant screaming.
"It’s so spicy!"
Daoist Qingran heard the pained wail and grew even more furious. ’Could those ghosts be torturing Master Su?!’

This only made the ghosts more gleeful. Anyone, no matter how powerful, would be scared shitless in their hands.
’But... why is she screaming about it being spicy?’

The Ghost Baby was the fastest. It scuttled along the wall like a spider, and just as it entered the kitchen, it witnessed a bizarre scene.

"You’re so small. I might as well roast you and feed you to the other ghosts. The meat looks tender, so you’ll probably taste pretty good!"

The Evil Ghosts who had frantically rushed to the scene: ???
The anxious, panting pair of Daoists: ???
Staring blankly at the young woman before it, the Ghost Baby had a terrible feeling.
It began to struggle violently, but Su Nian’s grip was terrifyingly strong, holding it fast.
Then she poured oil all over its body and turned on the stove.
The Ghost Baby grew even more frantic, its limbs flailing wildly.
