Chapter 204: Killing the Liger Beast, a Star Disc Drops
"Thinking of running?!"
A piercing blue light erupted from Jin Zhu’s bestial eyes as electricity coiled around her body like wild serpents.
Her arms, corded with muscle, swelled abruptly and slammed down toward the Liger Beast, large enough to blot out the sky.
"Trying to stop me? You don’t have what it takes!"
The Liger Beast sneered, its body erupting in a blast of black light. Its bone-spiked tail tore through the air like a steel whip, letting out a piercing shriek as it lashed out at Jin Zhu’s midsection!
CRACK!
The sound of shattering bone was unmistakable.
The light in Jin Zhu’s bestial eyes instantly dimmed and the electricity dissipated. Her massive gorilla-like form shrank as if deflating, and she crashed heavily to the ground.
The Liger Beast loomed over her, the tip of its tail poised like the Grim Reaper’s scythe. It lunged for Jin Zhu’s throat. "Die!"
At the last possible second!
SWOOSH! SWOOSH! SWOOSH!
Countless golden light arrows tore through the air, precisely piercing the Liger Beast’s Scale Armor and bursting into clouds of black, acrid smoke.
Seville flew before the Liger Beast, gripping his enormous longbow. An arrow, wreathed in blinding Golden Light, was aimed at its eyes.
"Pathetic tricks!"
The Liger Beast let out a savage laugh. A purple-black light flashed across its Scale Armor, and the damage instantly vanished.
"Is that so?"
Su An’an raised her hands. Five Spiritual Power Tentacles, wreathed in pink Divine Light, shot out like Poison Dragons from the abyss, instantly piercing the Liger Beast’s spine!
"AAAAAH!"
Its entire body convulsing, the Liger Beast collapsed to the ground.
It glared at Su An’an, roaring in disbelief, "Divine Female, this isn’t how it’s supposed to be!"
Su An’an took a step forward and leaned down, a cold smile on her lips.
"Then how is it supposed to be? Locked in a cage by the likes of you to be used as a breeding tool?"
SPURT!!
The Liger Beast coughed up a mouthful of black blood. It tried to detonate its Beast Core to take her with it, only to find an emptiness in its head.
"Looking for this?"
A flash of Divine Light in Su An’an’s palm revealed the purple-black Beast Core hovering above it, its warped Energy writhing like a venomous serpent.
She looked down on the Liger Beast, the corners of her lips curling into an icy arc.
"The era of the Divine Army is over."
The Liger Beast’s pupils contracted violently, and the excruciating pain of its innards being shredded sent its body into convulsions.
Yet it still struggled to raise its head, letting out a savage laugh.
"So what if you kill me?!"
It coughed up another mouthful of black blood, a hoarse roar rasping from its throat.
"The Divine Army is legion! Do you think beating me means you can defeat the entire Divine Army?!"
Its bestial eyes erupted with a crimson glow, its voice like that of a demon crawling out of Hell.
"The King Blood Mutant Beast has awakened! You have no idea what you’re up against!"
A cold glint flashed in Su An’an’s eyes as her fingers tightened. "You talk too much."
CRACK!
The purple-black Beast Core shattered in her palm. The light instantly faded from the Liger Beast’s eyes, and its corpse exploded into a shower of bloody mist!
CLINK.
A thumb-sized, blood-red Star Disc fell to the ground. The white skull engraved on its surface glinted eerily in the firelight.
With a grasping motion, the Star Disc flew into Seville’s palm.
"The Star Disc is intact."
His fingertips traced the complex patterns on its surface, his voice filled with suppressed excitement.
"Its paired Light Brain is still active. If we find it, we can contact the outside world."
"We can finally go home."
The rims of Su An’an’s eyes reddened and her chest heaved. Her voice was a soft whisper, as if she feared speaking too loudly would shatter the beautiful dream.
Seville watched her emotional reaction, and his Adam’s apple bobbed.
He turned his face away as a bittersweet feeling welled up in his chest.
’Once they left this place, Su An’an would no longer be his female, and his alone.’
"Aren’t you happy?"
Su An’an noticed his strange expression.
"It’s nothing."
Seville looked up, his voice steady once more.
"While the Divine Army is in disarray, we’ll strike their main nest. We have to find the Light Brain and, more importantly, stop the King Blood Mutant Beast from awakening."
"That’s right." Su An’an took a deep breath, steadying herself.
"We can’t let that monster see the light of day."
Jin Zhu pushed herself up to her feet, wiping the blood from the corner of her mouth.
"By the way, that combat form you transformed into earlier... it looked a lot like the Alliance’s president, King Jin Hai."
Seville studied her, his amber eyes pensive.
"Don’t be ridiculous!"
Jin Zhu gave a wry smile. "I’ve never set foot outside this rainforest in my entire life."
She rolled her shoulders and strode toward the tribe.
"I’m going to take a headcount of the Warriors who can still fight."
Seville watched her retreating back, his brow furrowing almost imperceptibly.
Su An’an keenly sensed something was amiss. She was about to speak, but he had already deftly slipped the Star Disc into his Tactical Bag.
"Let’s go. It’s time to end all of this."
The acid rain still raged. Under the gloomy gray sky, the entire settlement was battered and corroded.
Charred Gang Vines lay toppled at odd angles, and a pungent, acidic mist rose from the muddy ground.
But even so, the fighting spirit burning in the Beastmen’s eyes was more ferocious than ever.
The injured Warriors supported one another. Blood mingled with acid rain, streaking down their bodies, yet no one cried out in pain.
The females and their cubs weaved through the ruins, distributing water, bandaging wounds, and carrying weapons.
Even the youngest cubs, their small faces set in grim determination, mimicked the adult Beastmen by carrying stones to reinforce the defenses.
"Auntie! I just killed a Mutant Beast!"
Qiuqiu, dressed in a lopsided suit of small armor, brandished a blood-stained Little Bone Knife.
He charged up to Su An’an valiantly, his round belly puffed out with pride.
A squad of cub "warriors" followed him, their eyes sparkling as they all chattered their praises at once:
"King Qiuqiu is the greatest!"
"You’re amazing, sweetie!"
Su An’an crouched down and ruffled Qiuqiu’s fluffy head.
She looked up at the injured Beastman Warriors around them.
Her fingers twitched as she began to gather her Divine Power to heal them, but Old Wolf reached out a hand to stop her.
"Divine Lady, their injuries are minor. They aren’t worth wasting your power on."
Old Wolf’s face was pale, a smear of blood still staining the corner of his mouth, yet he stubbornly shook his head.
"Your Divine Power must be saved for the more important battle to come."
Manda approached, leaning on his Bone Spear. The wound on his chest was still oozing blood, but his back was ramrod straight.
"We still have a thousand Warriors, ready to follow you and storm the Mutant Beasts’ lair at a moment’s notice!"
As soon as he finished speaking, the surrounding Beastman Warriors roared in unison.
They were covered in bandages.
The acid rain burned their skin.
But not a single one of them flinched.
They gripped their weapons, their eyes blazing with unyielding resolve.
They would fight to the last drop of blood to completely eradicate the Mutant Beasts threatening their home.
Old Wolf and Manda exchanged a glance, seeing the same frustration in each other’s eyes.
If their injuries weren’t so severe, they would have been desperate to join the battle themselves.
But for now, all they could do was defend the camp, ensuring the warriors on the front line had nothing to worry about from the rear.
"Good!"
Su An’an nodded firmly, her long hair billowing behind her as pink Divine Light flared like a flame. "To victory!"
"TO VICTORY!!!"
A thousand Beastman Warriors roared as one, slamming their Bone Spears against the ground.
The earth-shattering war cry made the entire camp tremble.
The sound waves scattered the acid rain, and it seemed as if even the sky itself had cleared for a moment.
"Auntie, I want to go too!"
Qiuqiu waved his Little Bone Knife, his chubby body struggling to push to the front.
His small face was tight with determination as he declared in a high, childish voice, "I can help!"
