Chapter 193: First Kiss with Seville
The moment mud flooded her mouth and nose, Su An’an heard a piercing shriek.
It was so far away, as if from across a bottomless abyss.
And yet so close, as if right beside her ear.
"SPLASH!"
A small, black-and-white body broke through the surface of the swamp.
Seville’s Wings were seared black by the venom, the edges even beginning to char and peel away.
"Stupid woman!"
He gritted his teeth, hooking her collar with his claws, his three-and-a-half-year-old body bobbing in the mud.
He could barely keep himself afloat, but he refused to let go no matter what.
"Don’t you even know how to dodge?"
Su An’an wanted to curse back at him, but she was choking on the muddy water and couldn’t make a sound.
The base of the Toad King’s tongue suddenly contracted, and the pulling force intensified drastically!
"CRACK."
A sickening cracking sound came from Seville’s wings.
But he used that very force to pull her sharply into his arms, using his own frail back to take the full brunt of the pressure.
The sound of bones fracturing was clearly audible.
Su An’an’s pupils constricted.
This sharp-tongued, arrogant goose who always put on a cold face and said, "It’s just a scratch."
Now, blood was overflowing from his mouth and nose, his pupils were unfocused, and his Wings were twisted at a grotesque angle.
Yet he stubbornly kept his tattered wing membranes spread, trying to fend off the Toad King’s tongue for her.
"What are you looking at?"
He choked out a mouthful of blood, his voice growing weaker. "That look on your face... it’s disgusting!"
"You stupid brat!"
Su An’an’s voice choked with sobs as her trembling fingertips caressed Seville’s blood-stained cheek.
"Why did you save me? You obviously hate me so much."
Seville coughed up another mouthful of blood. His pupils were unfocused, but they still held their familiar arrogance.
"Who said I was saving you?"
His voice was hoarse, but he was still being stubborn. "I just thought... you’d die too ugly a death..."
Su An’an’s tears splashed onto his face.
Seville suddenly began to struggle, his broken Wings flaring with a final trace of Golden Light.
He was going to burn his own Life Force to take the Toad King down with him!
"Don’t move!"
Su An’an suddenly cupped his face and, to Seville’s stunned gaze, kissed him hard.
Soft.
That was Seville’s first sensation.
The young woman’s lips were warm and trembling, carrying the salty tang of her tears, and it made his entire body freeze.
"Mmph?!"
The next second, a familiar Energy surged madly into his body!
A pink glow erupted from between their lips.
The Divine Pattern on Su An’an’s lower back bloomed like a vine, and the surrounding mud and filth were instantly purified.
She was enveloped in a holy halo, so beautiful it was breathtaking.
Seville suddenly remembered.
The day Qiuqiu’s genes went rampant, the mysterious female who saved them had been surrounded by this same light!
"You!" He was suddenly flustered and tried to push her away.
"You’ve already used up your Energy for today! Don’t waste your life."
But Su An’an just smiled.
For the first time, she actively embraced this power of the Divine Female.
"WHOOSH!"
The Divine Pattern fully awakened, and a Hexagram began to glow softly on her lower back.
The pink light surged into Seville’s body like a tidal wave.
His empty meridians were filled, and his young bones grew with a series of CRACKLES, transforming him into his adult form in the blink of an eye.
The pink light faded, revealing Seville’s long, silver-violet hair fluttering in the poisonous mist. His tall, slender body was as straight and sharp as a blade.
He had broad shoulders and long legs, his muscles defined with a wild, explosive power.
The black-and-white Wings spread out behind him looked like metal, their edges shimmering with a dark golden light.
"CROAK CROAK!"
The Toad King, seeing its Prey could transform, opened its mouth and spat out green venom once more.
"You eyesore!"
Seville sneered, forming a brilliant ray of golden light at his fingertip that locked onto the Toad King.
The Toad King flew into a rage, its six compound eyes simultaneously spraying corrosive venom.
Su An’an spread her hands, and a curtain of healing light unfolded like a veil of gauze.
The moment the venom touched the pink glow, it was purified into harmless water vapor.
"To your left!" she suddenly shouted.
Seville had already shot into the air, his Wings carving a sharp arc as a golden Light Blade cleaved through the three compound eyes on the Toad King’s left side!
"ROAR!"
The Toad King roared in pain and thrashed about, its massive body sending sludge flying everywhere.
Seville wheeled around in mid-air, his black-and-white Wings slicing through its throat.
Su An’an’s beam of healing light followed him like a shadow, constantly enveloping him so that not even the poisonous mist could get close.
The final blow.
Seville folded his wings and dove like a javelin, a Golden Light piercing through the crown of the Toad King’s head!
"BOOM!"
The Toad King crashed to the ground, and the swamp fell back into a dead silence.
Seville retracted his wings and landed, his long, silver-violet hair brushing against Su An’an’s cheek, creating a faint, ticklish sensation.
He lowered his gaze, his eyes falling upon the beautiful young woman’s face before him.
The healing light hadn’t faded yet. The young woman’s pink lips were slightly swollen, and droplets of purified water still clung to her hair.
It made her skin look as white as snow, a breathtakingly beautiful sight.
"What are you looking at."
He abruptly turned his head away, the tips of his ears bright red, his voice low and slightly hoarse. "What just happened... Don’t let it happen again."
’That kind of thing?’
It dawned on Su An’an, and her face instantly turned beet red.
Forcibly kissing a toddler-sized chibi was one thing.
But facing this broad-shouldered, long-legged adult form practically overflowing with hormones...
...was another matter entirely!
Her gaze slid uncontrollably to his Adam’s apple, where a small, still-wet speck of blood rolled gently with each breath.
Seville noticed her gaze, and his Adam’s apple bobbed slightly.
"SWOOSH!"
A small, black shadow suddenly shot out of Su An’an’s pocket, lunging straight for the Toad King’s corpse!
It was Qiuqiu, who had burrowed into the monster’s festering eye socket.
The next second.
The Toad King’s corpse began to convulse violently!
"Qiuqiu!!"
Su An’an and Seville charged forward at the same time and sliced open the Toad King’s corpse.
There, they saw Qiuqiu hugging a translucent piece of the green Toad King Crystal Flesh, happily munching away with little "NOM NOM" sounds.
"HIC!"
It let out a satisfied burp, and its body was suddenly enveloped in a red glow!
"CRACKLE!"
The crisp sound of growing bones rang out. Qiuqiu, originally in its lizard form, began to stretch and change within the light.
Finally, a five-and-a-half-year-old toddler appeared before them.
He had soft, slightly curly black hair, ruby-clear eyes, and chubby little hands and feet. He was so cute it made their hearts tremble.
"Auntie!"
Qiuqiu spread his arms and dove toward Su An’an with a childish cry.
He threw his arms around her neck, nuzzling his little face into the crook of her neck.
"I evolved again! I’m even stronger now!"
Su An’an froze for a second, then, overjoyed, planted a loud "SMOOCH" on his soft little cheek.
"Qiuqiu, you’re the best! Being able to take human form at such a young age... your talent is simply heaven-defying!"
She quietly sighed in relief. ’This way, Qiuqiu’s Lizard King Bloodline won’t be so easily exposed!’
Seville raised an eyebrow and poked Qiuqiu’s chubby cheek.
"You certainly know how to pick the good stuff to eat."
Although his tone was as cold as ever, a flash of satisfaction crossed his eyes.
Qiuqiu stuck his tongue out at him, then proudly lifted his little chin.
"Qiuqiu will protect Auntie!"
"Anan! Seville!"
Jin Zhu’s voice pierced the hollow emptiness of the swamp, laced with a rare anxiety.
"We’ll wait three more minutes! If you’re not out by then, we’re coming in!"
Manda’s Lion Tail slammed heavily against the ground; she was clearly prepared to force her way in.
Su An’an and Seville exchanged a look, quickly scooped up Qiuqiu, and on their way, stuffed the rest of the Toad King Crystal Flesh into a beast-hide pouch.
"SPLASH!"
When they broke through the mud and reappeared before the group, the entire team from the female cave fell into a dead silence.
