Chapter 2576 - 2575: Super Battleship
Seeing how shocked Li Cheng and his son were, Li Huang said at this moment, "Ah Cheng, take a look—this is the Moon we see from the ground down there!"
"Th-this, this..."
Li Cheng was completely dumbfounded, unable to say a word; his eyes were filled with nothing but shock.
"And that blue planet over there—that’s Earth, where our Li Dynasty is located!"
Li Huang gave a brief introduction, then sighed. "Ling Feng’s abilities aren’t as simple as just being personally strong. His footsteps have already stepped into this vast universe. Tell me, commanding the Li Dynasty’s armies—what kind of problem do you think that would be for him?"
"..."
Li Cheng stared, utterly at a loss for words.
And at this moment, Li Chunxi curled her lip and added fuel to the fire, saying, "Uncle, your vision is really way too small. Back in Ling Feng’s own world, his company has branches all over Earth. The workers under him number not just in the millions—people all over the world rely on his company’s supplies!"
"..."
Li Cheng was still staring blankly, not even sure what he should say.
In the blink of an eye, his entire worldview had been overturned; his mind was pretty much a complete blank.
When he saw those three warships on the Moon slowly rise, he finally swallowed hard and glanced at Li Huang and his daughter. "To make warships that big take off—what kind of power do you need to pull that off?"
"This..."
Li Huang shook his head helplessly. "We don’t really understand it either. We only know that the technology Ling Feng has mastered has already surpassed our understanding. Even if we started learning from him right now, it would take at least several decades just to catch up!"
"Oh..."
Li Cheng took a deep breath. "That Ling Feng really isn’t a mortal."
By now the Ling Yun and the other two warships were fully prepared to intercept the enemy. The battle absolutely could not begin too close to Earth; if fragments of those giant warships fell into the atmosphere, the damage to life on Earth would be irreparable.
So Ling Feng had to set the battlefield outside the Solar System; only then would it be safe.
Just then, a warning sounded inside the Miniature Spaceship, telling everyone to sit down immediately because the curvature engine was about to start up.
The four members of the Li family all sat down. They saw the screen go black—and then they couldn’t see anything at all.
When their vision returned, outside the porthole was already a field of stars, with nothing at all around them.
Staring into the void, Li Cheng asked softly, "Where are we now?"
This was a question no one could answer; Li Chunxi didn’t know either.
At that moment the Spaceship System responded automatically, "We have already exited the Solar System. We are currently three point five billion kilometers from Earth."
Hearing this answer, Li Chunxi’s thoughts flashed, and she turned back to Li Cheng and said, "Uncle must have read that novel from the previous dynasty, Journey to the West, right?"
"I’ve read it. What about it?" Li Cheng asked, puzzled.
"In that book, the Monkey King can travel one hundred and eight thousand li with a single somersault. For him to get here, he’d need to flip about seventy thousand somersaults!" Li Chunxi said.
"..."
Put that way, Li Cheng finally understood—and then he was just completely dumbstruck.
He felt as if only a moment had passed, and yet they were already this far away?
Way too fast!
While he was still stunned by that, a streak of red light suddenly flashed past outside the porthole!
It was something in the distant void that emitted it. At the same time, the system on the Miniature Spaceship suddenly said, "The mothership has sent a signal. We will observe the battle from here. That red light marks the location of the Ling Yun and the other two ships."
Everybody strained their eyes, but they could only make out three specks of light in that direction, barely visible.
However, on the large screen built into the spaceship’s bulkhead, the three ships could be seen clearly.
Li Chunxi’s little heart suddenly hung in midair, and she prayed silently in her heart, hoping Ling Feng would be all right.
Just then the image shifted, and the Spaceship System said again, "Everyone, please watch—this is the army the Demon King brought to strike back against Earth!"
In the image, countless ships filled the frame, so many they were beyond counting. The small ones were almost invisible, while the big ones were unimaginably huge!
Setting the two images side by side, Li Cheng and his son saw a scene that left them reeling: there were ten super-sized ships in that fleet, and in front of them the Ling Yun looked like an ant facing an elephant!
Seeing this, Li Huang clicked his tongue in amazement. "Warships this enormous are practically as big as the Moon, aren’t they?"
"Not quite. The Ling Yun wasn’t that big even when it was on the Moon. Judging by the comparison, those ten ships together are probably about the size of the Moon," Li Chunxi said.
"How in the world were these built?" Li Cheng asked.
"If Uncle wants to know, I can take you to see the shipbuilding bases Ling Feng has on other planets sometime. Then you’ll understand a bit more. But even now, he still can’t build anything this big; he can only construct ships about the size of the Ling Yun," Li Chunxi said.
"Oh..."
Li Cheng nodded slightly and said no more.
He didn’t know what else he could say; a few minutes ago he’d still thought Ling Feng was incapable, and now he realized the clown was actually himself!
After a brief silence, Li Cheng still couldn’t hold back his curiosity and asked, "The difference in strength between the two sides is way too huge. How exactly is Ling Feng going to win?"
"Just wait and see. Uncle, didn’t you think Ling Feng alone couldn’t possibly stand against thousands of troops? In a bit you’ll see just how terrifying his strength really is!" Li Chunxi said.
Her thought was that Ling Feng should already have mastered how to use the Chaos Sword. If that was the case, then fighting with that giant sword, the enemy’s ships would definitely be no match!
Li Chunxi actually guessed right. Faced with such a massive fleet, Ling Feng had no intention of deploying the Mechanical Soldiers or the Ling Yun’s ships at all. If he sent them out they’d only be destroyed; why waste them?
So when the enemy fleet drew near, he planned to go out and confront them himself. Whether it worked or not would all depend on that one overwhelming strike.
But just then, the Ling Yun’s Spaceship System said, "Master, they’ve already detected us and have sent a communication request."
"Connect it."
Ling Feng nodded.
The image on the screen flickered, and a humanoid creature appeared.
This guy had a human face, but two antenna-like things were growing from his forehead—it was impossible to tell what they were.
As their eyes met, the man said in a deep voice, "Earthling, you’ve got some nerve, daring to come meet us head-on?"
These words were converted through simultaneous interpretation. Ling Feng listened and laughed, then asked coldly, "And why wouldn’t I dare? Just because you have so many warships?"
"Exactly!"
The other nodded. "In the universe, the strong rule. You only have three toy-like warships—do you really think you can be a mantis trying to stop a cart?"
Ling Feng smiled. "Why not give it a try? Who knows, maybe I really can stop you."
