Chapter 1759 - 1758: Star Map
The two men who were tracking him were stunned, standing rooted to the spot.
Seeing them looking up, Catherine smiled: "Forget about it, you can’t catch up with Ling Feng. But don’t worry, he’s not up to anything bad, just tracking a missing case."
"Miss Catherine, don’t you realize his actions have seriously violated the diplomatic agreement!" one of the men in black said sternly.
"I know!"
Catherine nodded: "But if you don’t tell, will the higher-ups know?"
"This..."
"Even if you do report it, the higher-ups can only scold you for being incompetent, unable to stop Ling Feng. So why bother reporting it? Instead of inviting criticism, just pretend you didn’t see anything, or say you didn’t notice anything unusual!" Catherine laughed.
With that, the two men in black exchanged glances and remained silent.
Then, in perfect sync, they stepped back a few paces, disappearing into the nearby bushes.
Catherine smiled slightly, thinking, "Right on track!"
By this time, Ling Feng had reached the rooftop and entered the building through the emergency exit, then proceeded to the ninth floor to find Nina’s office.
Thinking it might be a bit troublesome, he walked into the corridor and noticed nameplates outside each door that indicated the occupant of the office!
So he quickly found the target, and without further ado, he forcefully broke the lock and went inside.
The office wasn’t big, only about twenty square meters, with a desk, a chair, a double sofa, and a wall-lined bookshelf stuffed full!
Ling Feng scanned the room, instinctively heading towards the bookshelf, feeling that something was hidden there.
As soon as he opened the door, a whiff of ink incense stick scent hit him, and Ling Feng began searching through the rows.
Nina hadn’t mentioned anything about what might be here when she was taken away, so Ling Feng could only search blindly, looking for anything unusual.
However, after a while of searching, moving every book on every shelf, he realized they were just books, nothing else.
Ling Feng scratched his head, feeling puzzled, thinking that can’t be right. If there was nothing here, why would she send him here?
Could it be somewhere else?
He turned to look at the room; the desk had three drawers. He opened them all to find papers and office supplies, with nothing particularly notable.
He also checked the double sofa but found nothing special.
"How strange, where is it? Could it have gone to heaven or earth?"
Ling Feng muttered to himself, suddenly recalling something, and immediately looked up!
The ceiling above was comprised of square panels, the kind that you could push up.
Ling Feng squinted, jumped onto the desk without further ado, and began feeling the panels.
Sure enough, he quickly discovered one of the panels was floating, and a gentle touch revealed a gap!
"Wow, this girl really hid it deep!"
In his divine sense, Ling Feng could see that within the ceiling’s layer there was a square paper box!
He soon reached in, took the box out, feeling it wasn’t very heavy, no more than ten or so pounds, not knowing what’s inside.
After putting the ceiling tiles back, Ling Feng returned to the ground and placed the box on the desk.
Upon opening it, Ling Feng was dumbfounded!
It was different from what he imagined; inside the box was actually a necklace!
A fine white metal chain strung together seven sky-blue stones of varying sizes and formed a rather simple necklace.
Looking at those stones, although they contained some spiritual energy, it wasn’t very concentrated, not qualifying as a high-quality gemstone. It didn’t seem very valuable.
Ling Feng picked up the necklace, weighed it, feeling it wasn’t heavy either.
The truly substantial part was the rigid plastic base imitating a human neck.
Ling Feng pinched it but found nothing inside, so he pulled up a chair and sat down to scrutinize the necklace.
The stones had neither inscriptions nor any formations, seeming merely natural crystal stones processed into a necklace.
Moreover, the stones were irregular in shape and size.
Ling Feng felt puzzled, certain that this was the item Nina wanted him to find, but its purpose left him baffled.
Still perplexed, Ling Feng suddenly had a bright idea, remembering to focus his spiritual power to perhaps discover something!
So he immediately channeled his spiritual power from within, infusing it into the necklace!
A blue light flashed!
Ling Feng’s heart jumped with joy, thinking it was indeed useful!
As the blue light flickered, the whole dark office was suddenly enveloped by light, turning completely blue.
Then, before Ling Feng’s eyes, countless blue light spots appeared and began to slowly move!
"Oh my! What is this, a holographic map?"
Ling Feng widened his eyes, his mouth opening.
The light spots gradually merged, slowly forming seven bright spots radiating different halos, and then suddenly, the bright spots exploded!
A vast star map appeared before Ling Feng!
Seven star clusters were slowly spiraling.
Ling Feng was amazed; such scenes were only from sci-fi films, unexpected that a little necklace harbored such wonders!
Obviously, these seven star clusters had special significance, Ling Feng looked carefully, reached out, and tapped one of the blue ones.
The star cluster instantly enlarged from the size of a fist to that of a basketball.
Now knowing how to operate it, Ling Feng touched it again, and the star cluster immediately enlarged once more.
Until it expanded almost as big as the room, Ling Feng finally made it out, it seemed resembling the Solar System!
Yet unfortunately, the room was too small, lacking space to magnify the pinpoint-sized blue dot to discern if it was Earth.
After watching for a while, Ling Feng withdrew his spiritual power, the room returned to darkness, then he stowed the necklace in his space bracelet and turned to leave.
Upon return to the ground floor, Catherine immediately ran over asking: "What happened just now? I saw a whole room suddenly filled with blue light!"
"Let’s not discuss this now, let’s leave, get away from here!"
Ling Feng said, taking Catherine’s hand as they walked towards the car.
Noticing the two still watching him from the bushes, Ling Feng said to them: "Don’t worry, I’ll leave when the time is right!"
"We’d appreciate it!"
The two men also gave up the thought of confronting Ling Feng forcefully, with a polite smile.
Back in the car, Catherine asked: "What in the world is going on?"
Ling Feng furrowed his brow: "Things are getting more complicated, Nina’s identity isn’t as simple as it seems!"
