Chapter 1720 - 1719: Sudden Incident
Lin Xue chuckled softly, "Why so anxious? We’re already aware of this!"
"Oh, that’s good then!"
Ling Feng sighed in relief and immediately asked, "They just found out on their end. When did we learn about it?"
"A day ago. Are Americans that inefficient? They just found out?" Lin Xue asked.
"Yes, I just discovered it myself. Their Federal Bureau of Investigation just learned about it, and they haven’t drafted a response plan yet!" Ling Feng said.
"Well, they’re going to be in trouble then!"
Lin Xue said and continued, "This attack is no small matter. The Security Bureau’s branches across various areas are already on high alert. They not only dispatched many superpower users but also mobilized the military and armed police. This battle must be concluded right from the start!"
"That makes me feel better!"
Ling Feng nodded, and a thought suddenly came to his mind, so he said to Lin Xue, "Alright, I won’t chat further; there’s still something to be done here!"
After speaking, he hung up the phone and then used his Divine Sense to see that Navarro had already left the elevator and went into his office.
Ling Feng focused his Divine Sense on him and, as soon as he entered the room, immediately used the Mind Soul Art!
Navarro, who had just sat down, groaned, clutched his head, his eyes rolled up, and he fainted instantly!
Ling Feng smirked, glanced around, and headed straight to the nearby public restroom.
A moment later, Ling Feng emerged with a different look and attire!
Without pause, he headed straight for the building, launching himself into the air at the corner of the wall!
Going through security and elevators was not an option, so Ling Feng chose the most direct method.
Although not as easy to spot as a direct assault, the building’s security was obviously strong, and someone quickly noticed an intrusion on the building’s exterior!
But Ling Feng couldn’t be bothered much; with the fastest speed, he reached the rooftop in an instant.
The entire building’s alarms blared; upon learning there was an intrusion, an emergency state was immediately activated, and personnel from various floors began evacuating!
Standing on the rooftop, Ling Feng, with his Divine Sense, saw countless people hastily leaving their offices, descending via escape routes, and he couldn’t help but smile.
This chaos was exactly what he wanted; now no one would notice Navarro.
Seeing countless security guards rushing up to the rooftop via stairs and elevators, Ling Feng activated the Invisibility Ring, instantly vanishing from view.
By the time the guards reached the rooftop and began their search, Ling Feng had already returned to the small park at the foot of the building.
The area was now crowded with the building’s staff, all of whom were looking up and gesturing at the building, speculating about what had happened.
Ling Feng knew very well that with such an incident, the security personnel would not allow these people back in until the safety of the floors was confirmed.
This whole disruption would at least delay them for an afternoon.
By the time someone finds the unconscious Navarro and sees the documents, it would take until midnight or even the next morning!
By then, Ling Feng’s plan would take effect, leaving even less time for the Americans to tackle the monster invasion, which they surely won’t be able to handle!
The thought of the Americans being overwhelmed made Ling Feng smile silently, and he vanished into the corner of the street through the crowd.
Back at the hotel, Catherine was lying on the sofa in boredom. Hearing the door open, she immediately got up.
Seeing a stranger enter, Catherine was first stunned, then she realized it was the disguised Ling Feng, and laughed, "Why did you decide to change your appearance?"
"Some unexpected changes occurred, had no choice but to do so!"
Ling Feng chuckled and continued, "Why didn’t you turn on the TV? I bet it’s already on the news!"
"Really?"
Catherine picked up the remote and turned on the wall-mounted TV.
Switching through a couple of channels, she found the local news station broadcasting breaking news!
The station’s helicopter was filming around the building, with rooftop staff searching for something. With the commentator’s voice, Catherine finally understood what had happened there.
The more she listened, the more puzzled she became. She turned to Ling Feng and asked, "What happened?"
"I purposely exposed my whereabouts to get in, and they initiated the evacuation protocol!" Ling Feng laughed.
"Weren’t you only dealing with Navarro? Why did you do that?" Catherine asked.
"It’s a long story!"
Ling Feng chuckled, pondered for a moment, and decided to hide his true intentions.
After all, she is from America, and if she knew his aim was to cause significant damage to America, she would certainly be upset!
Even if she didn’t break ties with him, some displeasure was inevitable.
Ling Feng could understand this; different countries have different stances, and to avoid conflict, it was better not to disclose it.
He then changed the subject and said, "Navarro has already fainted, and even when he wakes, it’ll take a while for him to recover. He might not be able to keep his job. Are you satisfied with how I’ve handled it?"
"Hmm, I have no objections!" Catherine nodded.
"Alright then, pack up and let’s get ready to go!" Ling Feng said.
Catherine was stunned, "Go? So soon?"
"I suddenly remembered that the Crystal Skull matter should be settled as soon as possible, whether it’s still there or can be obtained, to resolve it quickly because I feel a bit homesick!" Ling Feng said.

Catherine was speechless and rolled her eyes, "Hearing you say you’re homesick must be a rare moment!"
Ling Feng laughed, "Why do you say that?"
"I’ve heard that ever since you joined Huaxia’s Security Bureau, you rarely stayed at home for a few days, often running around!" Catherine said.
"That’s true, but at least I was in my own country. Now being away so far and for such a long time, I honestly miss the feeling of home!" Ling Feng said earnestly.
"Alright then, let’s finish the task quickly and then send you off!" Catherine said.
Ling Feng hesitated, "What? You’re not coming with me?"
"I’ll stay a bit longer; I have matters with my parents to deal with before I can go!" Catherine said.
Ling Feng didn’t understand, "What’s there to deal with? If you want to come back, you can always teleport home anytime in the future!"
"You don’t understand!"
Catherine glared at him and continued, "Even if I don’t tell them the truth since I’m leaving the country for another place, they can sense something is up, so it’s better to slowly persuade them. Perhaps I can bring them to your side together?"
"That sounds good; near my home is a prime vacation spot, excellent for retirement too!" Ling Feng nodded eagerly.
After concluding this conversation, the two packed up their belongings, checked out, and then drove out of Washington D.C., heading straight towards the northwest!
