The Greatest Village Doctor In The World

Chapter 570 Mysterious Architecture

Zhou Yi cast aside the jumbled thoughts in his mind and stared intently at the water’s surface before immediately throwing out a tree branch!

Ling Feng landed on it just right, and then leaped up again!

With his heart set, he immediately laughed and said, "How about that? I said it would work, didn’t I!"

"Quit your yapping, watch the water surface!"

Although Zhou Yi was inwardly thrilled, he still admonished in irritation.

As if they shared a tacit understanding, the two coordinated for the first time, and to their surprise, they worked seamlessly together. After a few ups and downs, they had reached the other side of the river!

"Hold tight, the last leap!"

Ling Feng shouted, and then he sprang forward, heading straight for the ground several meters away!

"Bang!"

At that moment, Zhou Yi began to struggle, vigorously trying to free her hand while also yelling, "Hurry up and let go, release me!"

"Look how flustered you are!"

Ling Feng felt a bit reluctant but still immediately let go of her hand.

Turning his head to see Zhou Yi’s face flushed red, he couldn’t help but scratch his head: "So you can blush too, huh?"

"Get lost!"

Zhou Yi glared at him fiercely and turned to walk toward the huge building.

Ling Feng followed her with a grin, despite being thrown countless cold looks, he still felt the trip was worth it, a huge win!

It had to be said, Zhou Yi’s figure was slender yet curvaceous to perfection; recalling the feel of their physical contact, Ling Feng still found himself a little reluctant to let go.

But after savoring the memory, he set it aside, as there were more important matters to attend to!

The two made their way to the front of that gigantic stone building and could finally see the face of the statue by the entrance clearly.

It was a woman in a long dress, her hair bundled behind her head, her face delicate, and her expression filled with a tranquil and peaceful air.

"Who could this be?"

Ling Feng scratched his head as he looked her up and down carefully, but found no inscriptions or any kind of hints to identify the woman.

But judging by the craftsmanship, this statue that stood over two meters tall must be the work of a master, at least a highly experienced sculptor!

Unable to find any clues on the statue, they both headed toward the stone building. As they got close, they discovered the site was abandoned, with moss and weeds already taking root in the crevices of the stones.

Standing before the grand and tall gates, they peered into the pitch-black interior, unable to discern what lay within. However, the surrounding silence gave no indication of any human activity.

"At the very least, people were active here many years ago. Shall we go in and take a look?" Ling Feng turned to look at Zhou Yi and asked.

"Don’t you find it a bit odd?"

Zhou Yi’s gaze remained fixed on the stone building, murmuring to herself.

Ling Feng was taken aback, "What’s strange about it?"

"Look at that stone; it is clearly one solid block of Giant Rock. To carve such a massive stone, what kind of work would that take?" Zhou Yi said.

"What’s the big deal? It’s just a matter of more labor, right? The ancients were very persistent, weren’t they? Spending a few decades on something didn’t mean much to them," Ling Feng dismissed.

Zhou Yi then gave him a look, "It’s impossible to communicate with you!"

After saying that, she stepped into the large doorway, leaving Ling Feng confused and unable to grasp what she meant.

Quickly catching up, he urgently asked, "What do you mean? Why can’t we communicate?"

"I’m talking about the significance of this building. To invest so much effort in creating it, only to let it fall to ruin, something must have happened!" Zhou Yi said without looking back.

Ling Feng thought to himself, isn’t that obvious?

With natural disasters and human calamities, if this place had existed for hundreds or thousands of years, what couldn’t have happened?

Knowing her fiery temper and that she was still fuming, Ling Feng didn’t want to make himself uncomfortable by saying anything, so he simply kept quiet.

After they entered the building, the two gradually adapted to the darkness inside and soon discovered that it was a particularly spacious hall.

The place was eerily empty, with some withered wood piled in a corner; scattered stones lay haphazardly in the middle of the hall, lacking any order on the ground.

Zhou Yi strode forward to examine the stones and then wore a thoughtful expression on her face.

"What’s wrong?"

Ling Feng asked upon seeing this.

"This was also a statue, but it’s clearly been smashed to pieces!" Zhou Yi said.

Bending down to take a closer look, it was evident that the stones bore marks of being chiseled, and Ling Feng was also puzzled, not knowing what had happened here.

The two stood in silence for a moment before he couldn’t help asking, "Shouldn’t we stop wasting time and quickly find a way out?"

"What? Missing your Li Shiyun?"

Zhou Yi turned her head and gave him a sidelong glance as she asked.

"Yeah, I really miss her!"

Ling Feng made no attempt to hide his feelings and nodded earnestly.

"..."

Zhou Yi’s gaze flickered as she stared at him for a few seconds, then, without a word, turned and walked out.

Seeing this, Ling Feng followed her, and once outside, Zhou Yi looked around and pointed ahead, "Let’s go that way!"

After she spoke, she quickly walked towards the desolate wilderness ahead, and Ling Feng caught up to her, asking, "Why are we going that way?"

"Intuition!"

Zhou Yi kept walking without turning her head.

Ling Feng was speechless, feeling as if he had become a lackey, with everything being dictated by her.

However, this was also good; at least if they went the wrong way, he wouldn’t be the one to blame.

With this thought, he stifled a chuckle and followed behind Zhou Yi.

The two walked in silence for a while until it began to get darker, and only then did Ling Feng look up at the sky: "The time here seems to match the outside world!"

"..."

Zhou Yi ignored him and kept walking forward.

Now, the two were in the midst of a huge plain, with no end in sight, surrounded by nothing but weeds; not a single animal to be seen.

The extreme silence made Ling Feng feel very bored, so he couldn’t help but ask again, "Hey, have you ever been to such an empty place before?"

"No. After I arrived here, I’ve only entered three different timelines in total," Zhou Yi said.

"Three times?"

Ling Feng was astonished and remembering that she had just been in a chamber, continued asking, "So you’re saying you’ve stayed in one space for over half a month?"

"Not half a month. When I first came, I was with Shiyun and we only stayed for one day before moving on. The rest of the month, I was in the second place!" Zhou Yi explained.

Ling Feng: "..."

"You spent a month in one place; what happened? How did you complete the task and get out in the end?"

Zhou Yi paused, turned to look at him, and said, "Why should I tell you?"

"Uh..."

Ling Feng, taken aback and rolling his eyes, had the thick skin to laugh and say, "I could help you analyze it, huh? It’s just the two of us here; can’t you stop being so stern all the time?"
