Chapter 414: Not Leaving Today!
Joanna had anticipated that Ling Feng would have such an expression, so she smiled and said, "You didn’t hear wrong, I’ve come to bring you a gift!"
"But, why?" Ling Feng asked.
"What else could it be? Everyone wants to get closer to you, and they’re afraid the other two families might get ahead, so after discussing, the three families decided to come to you together. This way, it’s the fairest!" Joanna said with a smile.
Ling Feng was utterly speechless!
Is that even a thing?
Just because you give a gift doesn’t mean I have to accept it and become friends with you?
After thinking for a moment, he shook his head and said, "I appreciate the kindness of the three great families, but I am truly overwhelmed and can’t afford such attention. And to tell you the truth, of the two Spirit Stones, now there’s only one left, and nobody is going to get it from me, impossible!"
Joanna was aware of some insider information, but she didn’t know that the smaller Spirit Stone had been given to Lin Huaqiang, so she thought he was lying!
In front of the Lu Family and the Chu Family people, she did not reveal anything but simply said, "Oh," and then explained, "You’re overthinking it. Nobody’s after your Spirit Stone; we just want to be friends with you. In the future, we can visit each other and if you could spend a few days at our place when it suits you, that would be enough!"
"Really? I don’t need to give anything in return?" Ling Feng asked doubtfully.
Joanna gave him a look, thinking to herself that he was overdoing his act, not trusting them, and definitely not trusting me?
After a moment of silence, she continued, "Really, there’s no need. These gifts are just a little token from our three families because everyone has high hopes for you. You definitely have a bright future ahead!"
Hearing her words, Ling Feng understood, and then he nodded, "All right then, since that’s the case, I won’t be shy!"
Although he had agreed, he still didn’t know what was loaded in those carts, so he asked, "What’s in all these carts anyway?"
Joanna chuckled, "The three great families each have their own supply areas, and these are products from our own properties. Take a look at the list!"
Ling Feng took the list she handed over and was taken aback after just one glance!
"Damn!"
Seeing the list was filled with various food items, like grains and oils, preserved fruits and jerky, Ling Feng looked at Joanna in astonishment, "So many carts, enough to last me half a lifetime, right?"
"That’s not my concern. It’s the thought that counts. Don’t underestimate these items. They’re sold at sky-high prices in high-end supermarkets, and ordinary people can’t afford them!" Joanna said with a wink.
The hint in her eyes was clear; if you can’t eat them, sell them in the supermarket. You can make quite a bit of money!
Little did she know that Ling Feng was surprised but not at a loss. He smiled and said, "All right then, since I’ve agreed, just wait a moment, and I’ll call the villagers over to help unload!"
"That would be perfect, we didn’t bring any loaders, just the drivers. It probably won’t be done before midnight!" Joanna laughed.
Ling Feng turned to Li Shiyun, "I’ll need your help with this. Tell everyone to come over, it’s not about helping, it’s about sharing gifts!"
"Sure thing!"
Li Shiyun had already grasped his intention, nodded, and started calling to notify everyone one by one.
Only then did Joanna realize what was happening, and she asked with widened eyes, "You, you’re going to distribute all these things?"
"Yeah, I can’t eat all that. Why not let everyone help me out?" Ling Feng said, standing his ground.
"You’re really something. These things could be sold for one or two million if taken to the market, and you’re just giving them away?" Joanna said incredulously.
"I’m not short on money!" Ling Feng chuckled.
Once the gifts were given, it was up to the recipient to decide how they wanted to deal with them, so Joanna was out of options and just helplessly shook her head.
And there stood Lu Zixuan and Chu Bo next to each other, witnessing how Ling Feng was chatting and laughing with her. They wanted to speak but couldn’t find an opening, both wearing a look of awkwardness.
They had hoped that Joanna would help to say a few words, to ease the previous conflicts, but from the looks of it, she didn’t have that intention at all!
So amidst their awkwardness, these two were also muttering complaints internally, each with their own thoughts.
Just then, Lin Xue emerged from the house and saw Chu Bo, so she stepped forward and asked, "What brings you here?"
"Aunt, Grandpa asked me to come..."
A slight smile squeezed onto Chu Bo’s face as he explained.
Lin Xue was still somewhat surprised, but seeing his expression, she knew that he was uncomfortable with Ling Feng nearby.
She then turned back to Ling Feng and said, "The Chu Family has made quite a gesture of sincerity with this. Can we let bygones be bygones?"
"Sure, I have no problem with that, just not sure if he still holds a grudge against me," Ling Feng said with a smile.
"No, Mr. Ling, please don’t think too much of it, I have never held a grudge against you!" Chu Bo quickly waved his hand and hastened to explain.
Seeing this, Ling Feng smiled and didn’t say much more, but he thought to himself, I broke your leg, and you say you don’t hold a grudge? Who would believe that?
It’s just that the tables have turned now. All three big families want to curry favor with me, so you wouldn’t dare to go against Chu Nan’s wishes!
As for Lu Zixuan, Ling Feng gave him a glance, smiled and said, "Mr. Lu, we are acquainted now. When you go back, please convey my thanks."

"What?"
Ling Feng was startled and followed her gaze behind him. When he saw Mo Jiaolan and Li Shiyun standing at the doorway, he realized what she meant and then smiled, "Alright, I’ll introduce you."
With Chen Yuhe there, Joanna quickly became familiar with everyone. Hearing she was Wang Laogen’s disciple, Mo Jiaolan and Li Shiyun felt even closer to her.
And now Joanna had met several beauties. Noticing the way they looked at Ling Feng, she understood something and then, turning back, teased, "Ling Feng, aren’t you something?"
"Ah? What is it?"
Ling Feng pretended not to understand and scratched his head, asking.
"Stop it, what’s with the act?"
Joanna rolled her eyes at him and then said, "I’ve met quite a few sisters and friends all at once, so I won’t leave today and will have a good chat with everyone!"
Ling Feng was startled, then laughed, "Sure, no problem!"
To have a chat was just a pretense. Since she came on behalf of the Qiao Family, she might have other purposes, but it was not convenient to say so now!
