The Greatest Village Doctor In The World

Chapter 408: How is it him?

After tidying up, it was already past midnight.

Ling Feng saw Chen Yuhe had changed into her home clothes and approached to encircle her waist, "Have you taken a shower yet?"

"No, Anna is here. Where would I find the time?" said Chen Yuhe.

"Right, how about we shower together then?" Ling Feng chuckled.

A blush spread across Chen Yuhe’s face as she looked up at him.

No words were necessary; a shy glance was enough!

Without saying much, Ling Feng lifted her by the waist and carried her into the bathroom.

It was a night of passionate entanglement, and Chen Yuhe’s long-suppressed emotions were fully unleashed.

For some time, her whole world had been gloomy. Although she knew it was wrong, she just couldn’t get out of it.

But now, with Ling Feng’s attentive care, and a change of environment, she began to open up her heart bit by bit.

With the comfort of physical intimacy, Chen Yuhe finally let go of her psychological burdens.

The next morning, upon waking up and hearing a rumbling sound, she looked up at Ling Feng with a sweet smile, "Hungry, huh? Shall I order something for you to eat?"

"Sure, I was so tired last night, I think I could eat a whole cow!" Ling Feng laughed.

"Alright, then I’ll order a whole cow for you, but you’re not allowed downstairs until you finish it!"

Chen Yuhe laughed playfully and got out of bed.

Seeing her wrap herself in a towel and leave, Ling Feng took a deep breath; the familiar and adorable person was back!

After breakfast and seeing that it was already ten in the morning, Ling Feng said to Chen Yuhe, "I need to stop by the Demon Capital precinct to check on things. If all is well, we can head back tonight!"

"Okay, I’ll listen to you!" nodded Chen Yuhe.

Ling Feng looked at her, "What are your plans while I’m not here?"

"I’m not going anywhere, I want to sleep some more," said Chen Yuhe, her cheeks flushed.

"That’s good. After I leave, lock the door well and don’t let anyone barge in!" Ling Feng reminded.

Chen Yuhe rolled her eyes at him, "Don’t worry, now I’m almost at the Dark Energy realm. Who would dare to barge into my room?"

"It’s always good to be cautious!"

Ling Feng smiled, gave her a gentle kiss on the forehead, and then left.

Demon Capital precinct.

When Ling Feng arrived, the place was already bustling. Zhang He was buried in paperwork, sitting at his desk on the phone. Seeing Ling Feng, he gestured for him to take a seat and wait.

Noting his sullen face and red eyes, Ling Feng wondered if the guy had been up all night.

After a few minutes, Zhang He finished his call and looked up at him, "So you remember to show up!"

"What’s wrong? You’re the one who told me to come later," Ling Feng said, feigning innocence.

Zhang He sighed, "Alright, let’s not talk about that. I’m swamped here. Can you lend a hand?"

"Sure, just let me know what you need!"

Ling Feng didn’t really want to agree; he was eager to get home.

But seeing Zhang He like this, he felt it’d be really unkind to refuse, so he nodded reluctantly.

"This morning, Joanna called saying she had a lead on Wildcat. You should go check it out with her," said Zhang He.

"Hmm?"

Ling Feng paused, unable to help but ask, "Such a big issue, and you’re leaving it to just the two of us?"

"What else can I do? America has already protested, demanding we find Luther’s killer at all costs. All our staff are out investigating that!" Zhang He said helplessly.

"Seriously? Do we have to kowtow to the Americans? I have absolutely no good impression of those guys!" Ling Feng said with a speechless expression, showing his incomprehension.

Zhang He glanced at him, "There are some things you don’t understand, this is diplomacy, we can’t solely act on personal likes and dislikes, and at the very least we can’t openly fall out, right?"

"Fine then, where’s Joanna?" Ling Feng asked.

Zhang He glared at him, "Don’t you have her number? Call her yourself and ask!"

"What an attitude, I knew I shouldn’t have agreed to help you!"

Ling Feng glared back and stood up, leaving the office.

After going downstairs, he took out his phone and dialed the number, and almost instantly Joanna answered, "Is there something you need?"

"No, just thought I’d ask you out to enjoy the scenery!" Ling Feng said.

"Cut the crap, with a beauty like a flower next to you, why invite me out? I know Zhang He’s behind this, hurry up and come to the riverside!" Joanna chuckled.

"The riverside?"

Ling Feng was startled, "Not the place I went to last night, right? Where Luther was killed?"

"Of course not, I’m far from there. You better hurry over and we’ll talk!"

"Got it."

...

...

Half an hour later, Ling Feng found Joanna at the riverside, sitting in her car, lost in thought.

Seeing this, Ling Feng couldn’t help feeling annoyed, "If you’re this idle, why couldn’t you pick me up?"

"Who said I was idle!"

Joanna rolled her eyes at him and pointed toward the middle of the river, "Look there, I’m on a stakeout, okay?"

"What’s that, that boat?"

Ling Feng looked over and asked in astonishment.

"Exactly, Wildcat is on that boat!" Joanna said calmly.

"No way, you know that? Is the information reliable?" Ling Feng asked, his face full of disbelief.

"Of course, would I fool you with something like this?"

Joanna rolled her eyes, throwing his own words from last night right back at him!

Ling Feng was at a loss for words, still looking at the boat somewhat skeptically, "So what do we do now, I can’t swim, how are we going to get on board?"

"No need to worry, it will dock sooner or later. When it does, we can just go on board, right?" Joanna appeared nonchalant.

Ling Feng still felt this plan was unreliable and asked, "But what if the boat docks on the opposite shore? Can your car fly?"

"Whose car can fly?" Joanna gave him a look, "Just wait patiently, there’s no need to worry!"

Seeing her composure, Ling Feng’s doubts somewhat subsided, and with a wry smile he said, "Alright then, I’ll just wait."

Half an hour later, the boat in the middle of the river started moving.

Joanna’s gaze grew intense, and she immediately pressed the ignition switch of the car.

Ling Feng didn’t say anything, thinking that since she had made a promise, he would see how she would handle it.

The boat headed upstream, the distance between them gradually widening. Just as Ling Feng was beginning to get anxious, Joanna finally stepped on the accelerator.

The car drove slowly along the riverside road, keeping pace, neither too close nor too far from the boat in the river center.

After following like this for half an hour, Ling Feng saw the boat was finally about to dock!

Not far ahead was a small pier with only a few buildings around it, surrounded by a vast expanse of open land, making it unclear what purpose it served.

As the boat neared the dock, Ling Feng felt relieved, "Now we can catch that Wildcat!"

But unexpectedly, when he saw the person disembarking from the boat, he exclaimed as if he had seen a ghost, "Damn, how can it be him!"
