Beast Taming: I Have an Immortal Mansion

Chapter 515 365: Mission Accomplished, Returning to the Sect Gate

At this explanation, the young Male Cultivator lost all desire to continue the conversation. He simply watched the Ghost Spider as it absorbed the corpse qi to cultivate, his thoughts drifting elsewhere.

...

"We caught the Spirit Wood Alliance off guard this time, so they couldn't mobilize more powerful experts to stop us. But the next trade will probably be even more difficult."

Fang Qingyuan watched as his sect's disciples, working with the people from the Pill Alliance, unloaded the cargo from Yinbao and the other Tuo Rays. Then, they loaded them up with broken Magical Artifacts confiscated by the Pill Alliance, as well as some mortals from the direct family lines of various sects who wished to flee the war-torn region.

For the mortals affiliated with any side, war was a catastrophe. As mortals, their only purpose was to provide a steady supply of Immortal Seedlings—children with Spirit Roots—for the sects.

However, it took at least twenty to thirty years to train an Immortal Seedling to be useful. In the midst of war, the Cultivators had to remain as the main fighting force and could not leave. The powerless mortals, however, could be partially evacuated.

On one hand, this reduced the consumption of resources. On the other, it preserved their lineage, ensuring the clans could flourish and grow in the future.

The place where Fang Qingyuan was currently docked was not the main mountain gate of the Pill Alliance. That location was under siege by the Spirit Wood Alliance's main force, and with his current strength, Fang Qingyuan couldn't possibly break through.

This was a small city, a supply depot for the Pill Alliance. Since it was deep in their territory, it had not yet been occupied by the Spirit Wood Alliance.

After Fang Qingyuan and his group departed, Han Ping would have to contact the Pill Alliance's main mountain gate—the Pill Alliance's Zongshan, formerly Silver Elephant Mountain, now known as Danqing Mountain.

Hearing Fang Qingyuan's words, Han Ping looked somewhat resigned. However, this huge shipment of supplies was enough for the Pill Alliance to hold out for another two or three years—provided, of course, that the Spirit Wood Alliance and the Li Huo Alliance didn't launch a full-scale assault.

"I've completed my mission. What happens next is beyond our ability to predict. *Sigh*... who would have thought? It started as a simple dispute between the Sharp Gold Alliance and the White Mountain Sword Sect, but now it's escalated into a massive free-for-all across White Mountain. If the Star-Picking Pavilion hadn't stayed out of it, all ten of White Mountain's Nascent Soul Powers would have been dragged into this vortex."

"The Five Elements Alliance has always been a tight-knit group. Huh. What has the Lianshui Alliance been up to lately? Are they not getting involved in a war of this scale?"

While their disciples were busy, Fang Qingyuan was happy to chat a little more with Han Ping. He figured Han Ping was likely better informed on these matters than he was.

But to Fang Qingyuan's disappointment, Han Ping wasn't clear on the Lianshui Alliance's recent activities either. All he knew was that while the Lianshui Alliance was part of the Five Elements Alliance, its relationship with the other four alliances had grown distant in recent years.

'Combined with the Lianshui Alliance's current stance in the White Mountain war, it's hard not to speculate. Are they planning to split off from the other four alliances?'

Fang Qingyuan was merely speculating about this Nascent Soul Power from the northernmost part of White Mountain. Whatever the Lianshui Alliance decided to do, it had nothing to do with his own sect.

Just then, Han Ping took out several items and handed them to Fang Qingyuan. He said,

"These are the items you selected earlier. Now that the job is done, this is your reward."

After accepting the items, Fang Qingyuan looked at Han Ping with great interest. He had assumed he would have to wait until Han Ping reported to his superiors to receive the items from the catalog.

But the fact that Han Ping had them on his person meant his identity wasn't so simple.

Fang Qingyuan's interest was piqued by this realization. He asked,

"That Elder Han Yan, the Vice Sect Leader of the Pill Alliance... what is he to you?"

Han Ping's expression flickered. He glanced at the busy disciples from both their sects behind them, then chose to reveal his identity to Fang Qingyuan.

"He is merely my clan uncle. The Nascent Soul Ancestor of the Pill Alliance, however, is a direct ancestor from my line."

Fang Qingyuan chuckled knowingly. 'So he really is a legacy kid. A Han is a Han, after all. This young man Han Ping has a bright future. As long as he doesn't meet an untimely end, he's practically guaranteed a shot at becoming the Vice Sect Leader of the Pill Alliance one day.'

Having made his assessment of Han Ping, Fang Qingyuan glanced at his disciples, who had finished their tasks, and the Tuo Rays. Then he spoke.

"This matter is settled, so I'll be returning to my sect. Until we meet again, future Han Great Sect Leader."

After saying this, Fang Qingyuan moved to the top of Yinbao's head. With a series of cries from the Tuo Rays, the entire, massive convoy of beast ships, laden with the exchanged supplies and mortals, lifted off the ground. It turned gracefully and flew back in the direction from which it had come.
