Chapter 141 - 108: The Peak of Nanshan, Blissful as an Immortal
This do-or-die war, with their dignity on the line, had been raging at a fever pitch.
To keep Chen Xin from hearing anything unusual next door, a towel had been stuffed into Li Jinshu’s mouth, silencing her completely.
She could only clutch the bedsheets tightly with one hand, her cries muffled.
The next morning, the battle finally subsided.
The stains on the bed were a gruesome sight, a messy mix of sweat and other fluids.
In the end, Li Jinshu had surrendered.
Xu Yun felt that compared to Su Mu, Li Jinshu’s stamina was just as good, if not slightly better.
Her only failing was her lack of technique; she relied solely on brute force.
"You’re a total pervert!" Li Jinshu grumbled, lying flat on her back.
She felt like she’d been worked to death, and now her back and legs were aching terribly.
The swollen, red marks on her body hadn’t hurt at the time, but now they were tender to the touch. ’I should have taken it easier,’ she thought.
Getting out of bed and walking around was simply out of the question for the time being.
But one look at Xu Yun, and he seemed completely unaffected. In fact, he looked like he still had fight left in him!
’So infuriating!’
"You can’t blame me for this. You’re the one who refused to take a break, crazily demanding more."
Seeing her state, Xu Yun just laughed and shifted the blame.
He got up and went to the large bathtub in front of his bedroom’s floor-to-ceiling window. He filled it with warm water and poured in some milk.
Then, he carried a naked Li Jinshu into the tub, letting her soak comfortably.
He then turned back to the bed, stripped off the sheets, balled them up, and replaced them with a fresh set.
’Good thing I have plenty of extra sheets. Otherwise, having to change them every few days... I’d never be able to keep up!’
Just then, a knock came from the door.
"Xu Yun, are you up?"
Chen Xin’s voice came from outside. "My train is leaving soon. If you’re still asleep, don’t worry about getting up. I’m leaving now."
"I’m up! Wait for me, I’ll be right out."
Xu Yun called back. He kissed Li Jinshu on the lips and said gently, "Soaking in the hot bath should help ease the pain down there.
When you’re done, go back to bed and get some sleep. Take the day off work. Wait for me to get back."
"Mmm..."
After giving her these instructions, Xu Yun quickly changed his clothes, opened the door, and went out.
Chen Xin was all packed, waiting for him in the living room with her suitcase.
"I didn’t wake you, did I?"
"No."
Xu Yun took the suitcase from her, smiling. "Let’s go. I’ll take you."
"Okay."
A few moments later, a white Bentley drove out of the residential complex with Chen Xin inside, earning an envious look from the security guard as it left.
When they arrived at the high-speed rail station, cars normally weren’t allowed to drive inside.
However, what many people didn’t know was that you could, in fact, drive right in.
The catch was you had to pay.
It wasn’t cheap—3,000 yuan a pop!
Xu Yun hadn’t known this before, either. He’d been shocked the first time he saw a car at the station.
’What the hell? You can drive a car into a train station?’
He’d assumed it was some scion of a powerful family, a member of the privileged class. But when he asked, it turned out not to be so mysterious—as long as you paid, they’d let you in.
So today, he’d wanted to try it for himself. To his surprise, it actually worked!
It was a new experience for Chen Xin, too. It was the first time she realized you could drive a car right up to the platform.’
(Note: This "platform" isn’t the one for boarding trains, but rather an internal parking area within the station, typically used for emergencies.)
As for the other passengers and onlookers on the platform, they reacted just as Xu Yun had. Not knowing the circumstances, they could only stare in shock.
Especially since it was a pricey Bentley.
Immediately, everyone started speculating about Xu Yun’s identity.
They weren’t just guessing he was some rich kid; they figured he had to be the son of a high-ranking official.
After all, in this country, there were still many things money couldn’t buy.
Power would always come before wealth.
And Chen Xin, stepping out of the car, instantly became the center of attention.
Some even secretly took photos, planning to post them online to condemn such a display of privilege.
In reality, this was officially permitted, as long as it didn’t pose any safety risks.
"I’m leaving,"
Chen Xin said. "Thanks for spending time with me these past few days."
"You were the one spending time with me."
Xu Yun smiled. "Be safe on your trip. When you get back, if my mom asks any questions you have trouble answering, just blame it on me. I’ll take the heat."
"Okay."
Since Chen Xin had bought her own ticket this time, she wasn’t in business class, just a regular second-class seat.
Xu Yun had wanted to upgrade it for her, but Chen Xin had refused.
An announcement came over the speakers, signaling it was time for Chen Xin to board. She suddenly stood on her toes and gave Xu Yun a quick, light kiss on the cheek.
Xu Yun looked at her, confused.
Blushing, Chen Xin explained, "Yesterday, when we were doing the dishes, didn’t you say I should treat you? Well, I just did."
"Can I get another one, then?"
"No!"
Chen Xin said, "Oh, by the way, I left a letter for you in the bedroom where I was staying. It’s under the pillow. Make sure you read it when you get back."
"Why not just give it to me in person?"
Xu Yun teased, "Don’t tell me you have a secret crush on me and were too embarrassed to say it to my face, so you wrote a love letter instead?"
"You’ll find out when you go back and read it."
Chen Xin waved. "Okay, I have to get on the train now. Goodbye."
"Goodbye. And text me when you get home, okay?"
"I will."
The train doors closed. Chen Xin, sitting by the window, watched Xu Yun as the train slowly pulled away.
After Chen Xin was gone, Xu Yun drove home.
