Chapter 443 - 441:“ENTERTAIN ME!!”
The crowd’s head swiveled to the entrance of the walkway once more.
There, followed by an escort of two elderly figures, was another youth with the same purple hair as the others, his eyes a tapestry of colors—red, blue, gold—they swirled in dizzying fashion, yet mesmerizing all the same.
He stood tall, at least 7 feet from my vantage point, his body compact and well-built, with eight horns twisted into the shape of a glorious crown jutting out of his head.
Yet, that wasn’t what was impressive about him. No. The impressive thing would be his aura.
Even though he wasn’t actively releasing it, the very air around him was having trouble being still.
I could feel it. He was still one to be considered within the same stages of power as the others, as he hadn’t yet crossed into the level of manifesting his self-made laws, but he was close, very close.
"Interesting..." I couldn’t help but smile as the monkey finally made his exit.
This was going to be fun to watch.
...
Nyssara, exhausted and injured, laid her placid gaze on the youth that had just appeared, her figure slowly levitating downward until she touched the ground and then,
"I greet the Young Master, A’koran." She bowed in greeting.
"Please. There’s no need for such. You share the same bloodline as me, whether acquired or inherited, it doesn’t matter, since that makes us family." The youth smiled, stepping forward.
"So, as I was saying, I like that you had taken it upon yourself to teach my foolish brothers a lesson in not being haughty, so I was wondering if you would like to spar with me instead." The youth was smiling, yet his words were quite vicious.
The princess had just gone all out trying to fend off three people a considerable tier of power above her, yet now this poser shows up trying to act like the bigger man?
"Hey... isn’t that the 71st Young Master of the Caldera family?" Someone from the crowd whispered quietly.
"Yeah.. I didn’t think an actual direct heir would appear here, but why did it have to be this guy?"
"Yeah, I heard he doesn’t have a good reputation even within that rotten family."
"Damn it! He’s using this opportunity to pick on the Princess! Can’t they all just leave her alone? Was it her fault that she awakened their bloodline? Can’t they just be satisfied with our submission? Must they be so overbearing everytime?"
Once again, I could feel the bleeding grievance of the crowd as their mutters reached my ears.
They were trying their best, it seems, to be quiet, but the rage was too much for them.
"Seems things aren’t as simple as they look, huh?" Shaia muttered quietly.
"You don’t know the half of it," Sana chimed in, voice tight with rage.
That piqued my interest.
"What is it? Why are you upset? What did you find out?" I asked, curious.
"The real reason the Thraxans submitted to the Caldera family in the first place. But these bastards..." I could feel her anger through our connection, and that made me all the more curious, but before I could inquire more,
"Hahahahahaha!!! It seems your people are quite lively, aren’t they, Princess?" The youth laughed.
"I apologize for their misconduct, Young Master." The Princess had to bow again as the crowd went silent in resentment.
They had more to say, clearly they did, yet they could only keep quiet in suffocating anger as they watched their treasured Princess lower herself for them.
All I could feel from them at this moment was shame and anger. Not just toward the youth and his entourage, no, but toward themselves too.
"Alright. I shall forgive them for your sake." The young man waved her off before continuing, "I had come here seeking those who would accompany me on an excursion to the family’s ancestral grounds, a secret realm has opened, and I had decided to beat my brothers to the chase by arriving here first, and lucky enough, I chose right." The young man smiled as he looked at the three youths who were just now recovering.
"You’re an excellent choice. Not only do you have a Divine-Grade Omni-Beast suppression bloodline, but you seem to have assimilated quite the terrifying bloodlines into it. You’ll do just fine." The young man nodded.
"But before then, I believe a spar between us is necessary, let me be sure how capable you are." Saying so, the youth started walking forward, "I hope you can at least last a few hits." He smiled softly as he readied himself, the elders behind him shaking their heads in clear exasperation.
My smile slowly widened as I saw the youth readying himself for an obvious charge, the Princess trying her best to recover before he arrived, but before anyone could make a move,
WOOOOSH!!!
The air split apart as,
BANG!!!!
A figure was sent crashing backward at speeds so fast even time seemed to have lagged.
BOOM!!!
CRASH!!
"YOUNG MASTER!!" It wasn’t until the entire group, the elders and the three youths, cried out in fright that the world itself reacted to what had just occurred.
Like mechanical machines, their heads turned with a robotic creak as the attention of the entire place fell on the new entrant.
"Ahahahahahaha!!! Trying to posture before Master Monkey? You’re a few hundred years too young for that, little one." Malachi’s smug laughter rang out loud and true.
"YOU FILTHY ANIMAL!!!!" One of the youths from before, the ones who had just recovered from Nyssara’s beatdown, thought it a good idea to step up in rage, but,
BANG!!!
A staff strike sent the fool flying into the distance, his life or death unknown.
"Losers still dare to talk?" Scoffing out loud, Malachi’s attention shifted to the stunned princess, "Alright, pretty lady, that bastard seems to have taken an interest in you, so worry not, no one is touching you today."
"This motherfucker..." I couldn’t help cursing out the bastard as he just had to throw me under the bus.
"Ehh?" The princess wasn’t even given the chance to be properly surprised before,
BOOOOOMMMM!!!!!
A terrifying aura exploded out from the rubble the youth named A’koran had been buried under.
"You... dare..." The young man growled as his purple hair stood up in rage, his eyes bleeding a terrifying killing intent.
"Sorry about that, but someone up there doesn’t like it when people try to bully his women, so I’m here to act as the correction officer." The monkey gave a fake salute as he pointed cheerfully toward the room we were in.
...
"This fucker..." I was at my wit’s end. The bastard was acting like he wasn’t the one rearing to jump into a fight, now it’s turned into me wanting to help someone?
I could feel the young man’s scalding eyes drill holes into the room we were in, before he focused his attention on Malachi.
"You’re going to pay for that, you filthy animal. Do you know who I a—"
SWIIIIIII!!!!!
The tearing sound of a staff sweeping toward his temple was the only reply the purple-haired youth received as Malachi struck out with his golden staff,
"MONKEY!!! YOU DARE!!!!" The youth roared as his aura flared and he struck out with his hand,
BOOOOOOOOOOOOOMMMMMMMMMMM!!!!!
The coliseum, durable as the runes had been, couldn’t handle the collision between the two as the entire thing erupted from their clash, a flash of light engulfing and teleporting everyone out before the two even met in their clash.
RUUUMBLLLLEEEEEEEE!!!!!
The city of Neonax rumbled violently from the shockwaves of the clash, buildings threatening to collapse, but,
WENG!!!!
A brilliant light shone all over the entire city as the buildings were forcefully reinforced, the earth itself glowing with a blinding radiance as the shockwaves were absorbed and dispersed.
The threat was finally being nullified.
A torrent of armored personnel flooded the streets and skies as they marched toward the center where Malachi and the youth were still locked in a stalemate, but,
BOOOOOOMMMMMMM!!!! Another cataclysmic clash sent the armored men all flying like rag dolls.
"Heh! Looks like the monkey is excited." I laughed, placing Lucien atop my head as I made ready to move,
"How long do you think that guy will last against the monkey?" Leo asked, as he appeared beside me, still in his shrunken griffin form.
"As long as the monkey wishes to entertain himself for. Let’s go." Space folded as spatial displacement took everyone right above the clashing figures.
The space around them had already become nothing but shattered glass and fractured reality.
Their clash was that destructive.
A translucent dome had covered this entire region, straining to keep the clash contained.
"Hmm.. it’s failing. Well, can’t have that, now can we? Wouldn’t want the princesses to be upset, no?" I pointed at the fading dome, a pitch-black aura covering it, reinforcing the entire thing.
"Humph! You’re only helping out because that princess has finally caught your eye, hasn’t she?" Sana scoffed.
"You say it like I’ll be ashamed to admit it." I shrugged her off, focusing on the clash still raging down below.
The purple-haired youth had transformed into what I could only describe as a Draconic Phoenix-Lion hybrid. His aura suffocating the place as waves and waves of the essence of tyranny drifted off of him.
Yes. Not a law. But a concept itself. This would be the first time I’m seeing someone else use a concept directly and not a law.
His presence pressed onto the world like it was trying to take control of everything within his sphere of influence.
And if that wasn’t enough, the supreme laws of Fire, Iron, Force, even something new like Impact, were all saturating not just the space around the beast, but the beast itself as it released suffocating waves of the laws’ essence. His strikes were powerful. So powerful they could collapse continents with just a shockwave. I was sure, were it not for my timely intervention, this city’s runes probably wouldn’t have held.
Yet, even within that carnage,
"AHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHA!!!!!!!" Malachi’s laughter could still be heard, loud and true.
The monkey was unshaken. Anything the Draconic Phoenix-Lion hybrid threw at him,
BANG!!! He shattered with a swing of his staff.
It didn’t matter if it were physical attacks, law-backed attacks, or environmental control. The monkey responded with only one thing,
BANG! BANG! BANG!
Consecutive staff attacks that rendered all the beast could do ineffective.
"MONKEYYYYYYYYY!!!!!"
ROARRRRRRRRRR!!!!!!!
The transformed young man roared in outrage,
"I’LL ERASE YOU FROM EXISTENCE!!!!!!!"
ROOOOOARRRRRRRRRR!!!!
Opening its maw wide, an unholy amount of energy gathered in frightening waves at the back of its throat before,
BOOOOOOOOOMMMMM!!!
He breathed it out. The beam not so much as traveling as it seemed to ignore distance itself and appeared right before the monkey, yet even then,
"ORYYYYAAAAAAA!!!!"
The monkey’s response was still a simple swing of his staff, yet it was enough,
BOOOOOOOOOOOOMMMMMMMMM!!!!!!!
BANG!!! BANG!!! BANG!!!
The shockwaves from the collision slammed like a cosmic sledgehammer against the barrier I had reinforced, trying to no avail to shatter it.
"AHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHA!!! Come, you ugly-looking hybrid fuck!! Come entertain your Lord Monkey!!!" The monkey’s obnoxious laughter could be heard, followed right after by the angry roaring of the beast as they charged each other once more,
"AHAHAHAHAHA!!! YES! THAT’S IT!! MORE!!! ENTERTAIN ME!!"
BOOOOOOOMMMMMMMMM!!!!!
