Chaos Devourer System: My Classless Ascension

"That’s... an impressive ability" a supervisor muttered softly as he stared at the display currently dominating the projection..

Since the moment Dante had devoured Micheal, the projection had predominantly begun tracking his movement, so imagine their surprise when they saw him literally appear above Thaddeus who should’ve been miles away from his location...

Their surprise only deepened at the casual ease with which he overpowered Thaddeus, they could see that Thaddeus was clearly in his empowered form, yet Dante, not even in that criminal form from earlier, had casually toyed and overpowered the flaming giant..

They were sure the battle had concluded the moment they heard the audible Snap! Of Thaddeus’ neck being crushed, only for them to be In for another surprise as the "corpse" collapsed into a ball of black flames, reforming into what they couldn’t say exactly was Thaddeus anymore...

"I think his talent was called the <Burning Pyre Saint> it must be something to do with that, after all its a SSS-rank talent and one of the more powerful ones" another supervisor chimed in, scrolling through names in his device..

"Any information on the workings of the talent?" The first supervisor asked, expectant..

"Sigh... nothing... you know we’re not allowed to ask for details, knowing a person talents is just the same as knowing how to kill them afterall.."

"True.."

"So, who do you think will come out on top? That thing looks pretty terrifying" another supervisor joined the conversation, and so, a debate began over who was going to come out ontop, the recently revived flame abomination, or the possible rebirth of he who they dare not name...

They weren’t the only ones curious, as everyone who had witnessed Dante’s ascent of the tower was also wondering if finally something had appeared that could survive the one punch maestro, they didn’t care for his weird devouring abilities, at least the general public didn’t, all they cared for was how he was going to pummel this new opponent..

"This....might be fun after all" I couldn’t help the slow wicked grin that curled up my lips..

Everything else(Micheal) had been very squishy until now, so maybe I might just get a taste of someone who truly knew how to use their power..

The flaming abomination didn’t wait for me to collect my thoughts, a torrent of black-golden flames surging towards me, I could feel the heat before it even arrived..

It wasn’t merely physical, it felt deeper than that, I felt like I was being judged and condemned...

"Damn.. that’s something" I didn’t relent, if it’s a war of flames he’s looking for, it’s one he’ll get..

Power rippled through me as the Stellar essence that had been growing impatient within me was finally allowed to run its course, my frame bulking to its full 10ft stature, my eyes burning with a liquid golden flame..

I responded equally with a flame charged punch..

I really...really loved punching stuff..

The blows collided with an apocalyptic impact, gold and black scattering upwards in a roaring inferno..

"Raaggghhhhhhh!!!!" The flaming abomination roared as its flames seemed to burn brighter or should I say darker, the more energy it churned into it..

"Heh...energy is the one thing I lack the least big guy" I laughed, matching its ferocity as I released my pent up energy, Chaos energy rolled off of me in waves, the original golden color of my own flames gaining an equally darkened hue..

The moment Chaos energy and stellar flames met, the reaction was instantaneous...

The roaring black-gold flames of the abomination were instantly overwhelmed and...devoured?

"Interesting..." I didn’t know my energy could force my attacks like that, seems I’d still been taking the fact that Chaos energy was the origin of all others a tad bit for granted..

After all, it wasn’t merely 100x more efficient, it was 100x more potent, meaning normal attacks were easily end game level if I used it right..

"Alright then, let’s see just how far we can push you.." I smiled, letting it go...

My attacks burned the equivalent of mana, so I could literally go on for days, the energy cost not being anything noteworthy...

Rawwwrrrrrrrrrrrr!!!!!

The flaming abomination roared in unfettered rage, witnessing its flames being overpowered and devoured seemed to have set it off..

It canceled its attacks, soaring into the sky in the form of an ascending star..

"Oh no you don’t! Come here!!!" I gave chase immediately, not willing to let such a fun opponent go..

The creature ascended upwards until we crossed the the clouds, a frantic storm greeting us above..

It suddenly stopped, turning around to face me, it’s hideous face slowly disappearing into the shadow of a constantly darkening flame..

Then, I heard it’s voice, it echoed like the decree of a god..

"Seraphic Pyre Ascension!"...

The moment those words sounded out, the atmosphere seemed to glitch for a brief moment, almost as if reality was realigning itself for what was to come and then..

Fwooooooshhhhhhh...

A concentric circle of dark-golden flames wept outward, covering the entirety of the domain we were occupying..

I could feel a burning sensation all over, Chaotic Denial activating automatically as it began rejecting the nonstop damage I was receiving..

"Huh? My defenses...." I raised an eyebrow, none of my defenses were working, in fact, the flaming domain seemed to have utterly ignored the concept of defense at all..

"True damage huh?" I muttered softly, feeling the continuous burn...

I looked up and I could see nothin other than an enormous stretched mouth, a wicked smile curling the edges of its lips.

Clearly it was enjoying whatever it was doing to me..

I let loose a catastrophic punch skyward..

Wooosh!!!!

Nothing but clouds..

"Seems I can’t even hit it.. great, just great..." here’s someone whose True damage seemed to be working fine, whereas mine felt like a crippled man..

"Sigh...I’m beginning to rely on you a bit too much arent I?" I smiled..

I could’ve easily waited out this little game of ours, after all, there was no way such an ability wouldn’t consume an ungodly amount of energy, I didn’t doubt that it didn’t have much time left..

But, I was an impatient man myself, so..

"Abyssal Authority"...

The moment my voice sounded out, the concentric flaming domain froze as an abyssal black wave burst out of my body, the moment the aura touched the flaming domain it collapsed like a house of cards..

The atmosphere groaned as it turned a black so dark it was all consuming...

Rarrrrrreggggggg...

A mournful cry erupted from the atmosphere as whatever had been hiding itself was forcefully plucked out the sky...

The moment my eyes caught sight of the fast descending figure, I immediately vanished from my spot, appearing within its path of descent, my hand once more reaching for his neck..

This time, I didn’t bother trying to listen or make out the words, "you were a fun opponent, unfortunately for you, playtime’s over."..

Snap...
