My Horny Stepmom Turns Me into Her Vampire Slave

Chapter 195: B - Date with… Kimberly?

Who would’ve thought I’d manage to get a date thanks to Naomi?

And yet... here we are.

Everyone knows a guy who’s happily taken is harmless, and any girl in the world would feel comfortable hanging out with someone harmless.

I guess that’s why Kimberly agreed to go out with me.

She even seemed pretty happy when Naomi walked up to her at lunch and said, "Axel and I are heading to Fifth Avenue this afternoon for cocktails and a little shopping. He seriously needs to update his wardrobe. Want to come with us?"

Hold on a second...

She dresses like the frontman of a rock band from forty years ago, and she’s the one lecturing me about fashion?

Then again, Veronica’s always telling me to stop wearing nothing but tracksuits and start dressing like a proper gentleman.

But tracksuits are way more comfortable, and nobody’s ever going to convince me to squeeze into those damn skinny jeans that crush my balls the second I get even the slightest erection.

So, is this just a casual outing with me, Naomi, and Kimberly?

Of course not.

Kimberly and I are sitting on a bench, making small talk while we wait for my fake girlfriend, when my phone suddenly starts ringing.

It’s Naomi.

"Sorry, something unexpected came up, and I can’t make it there right away. You two go ahead and start shopping, and make sure you listen to Kimberly’s advice! I’ll catch up with you as soon as I’m free, okay? Bye!"

Oh no. What a shocking plot twist.

Who could’ve possibly seen it coming that Naomi would suddenly have an emergency and wouldn’t be able to join us?

"So... what do we do now?" I ask, pretending to be caught completely off guard.

"Well... um... your girlfriend said we should go ahead and start shopping," Kimberly murmurs with a shy smile. "I should warn you, though... I don’t really know much about fashion. I just hope I don’t end up making you buy something your girlfriend won’t like..."

It’s the first time I’ve ever seen her smile like that.

That shy, slightly embarrassed smile as she agrees to stay with me even without Naomi.

And damn... she’s gorgeous!

"Don’t worry. Whatever you tell me to buy is bound to be better than anything she would’ve picked. Fashion isn’t exactly her strong suit," I say, smiling back at her.

"That’s not a very nice thing to say about your girlfriend..."

Shit... she’s right. I really need to start talking about Naomi as if she were actually my girlfriend...

"Oh, don’t worry. She knows that’s how I feel. I piss her off about a hundred times a day, but after a good fuck she always gets over it. That’s probably why she loves me so much."

The moment the words leave my mouth, I realize it’s already too late.

Kimberly instantly turns as red as a tomato and lowers her gaze.

"I-I’m just going to pretend I didn’t hear that..." she murmurs, thoroughly embarrassed.

Seriously... what the hell? You can’t say anything anymore?

Then again, considering the religious circles she hangs around in, I probably shouldn’t be surprised.

The awkward silence drags on much longer than I’d hoped. It takes a while to break the ice with her — this girl is just way too shy.

From what she tells me, she moved to the United States from Greece a year ago. She loves jazz music, collects antique books, and stays up late reading them. As if that weren’t enough, she dreams of becoming a world-famous archaeologist.

She’s definitely not your typical American teenager... and that only makes her even more interesting in my eyes.

"We’re here," Kimberly says, stopping in front of one of the most luxurious and prestigious boutiques in all of New York. Exactly the kind of place Naomi and Veronica would love to see me walk out of wearing brand-new designer clothes.

"T-To be honest, I’ve never been in here before," Kimberly admits. "Collecting antique books is a really expensive hobby, and it eats up all my allowance. So I usually just wear whatever my mom buys for me. But some of my wealthier friends say this is the best-stocked boutique on Fifth Avenue... actually, in all of New York. So... since your girlfriend put me in charge of your outfit, I honestly didn’t know where else to take you if I wanted to play it safe."

The moment we step inside, we’re greeted by Elenoire, the boutique’s sales manager.

She’s a beautiful woman in her thirties, impeccably poised and elegant — the kind of woman who looks as though she stepped straight out of a fashion magazine.

"Oh, yes, yes... just like that... now let’s button this up, tighten the belt... et voilà! You look absolutely stunning!" Elenoire chirps, a little too enthusiastically... especially considering how many excuses she finds to put her hands on me.

If we were alone, we’d probably already be fucking in the fitting room.

Once Elenoire finishes adjusting the elegant dark gray suit, I look at myself in the mirror and... yeah, I have to admit, I like this look a lot more than I expected, even if I’m still firmly convinced that nothing beats the comfort of a tracksuit.

But it’s Kimberly’s shy yet heartfelt, "I-It really suits you," that finally convinces me to buy it.

I don’t even blink when Elenoire tells me the final price of the suit: just under two thousand dollars.

And yet, even after I’ve paid, Elenoire still doesn’t let us leave.

"Perfect! Now that we’re done with you, it’s time to find something fabulous for your girlfriend!"

My... girlfriend? No, she’s just a friend.

That’s what I’d like to say — not because I care what Elenoire thinks, but because I don’t want to make Kimberly uncomfortable.

But neither of us even gets the chance to explain.

Elenoire whisks Kimberly into the same fitting room where she’d taken my measurements and immediately starts fussing over her.

"Wow, you have an incredible figure! With these measurements... and your height... hmm..." Elenoire muses, giving Kimberly an appraising look. "Wait right here. I think I have the perfect dress for you!"

Visibly thrilled, she disappears into the maze of designer clothes.

A few moments later, she returns carrying a long evening gown in shimmering electric blue, covered in glitter that sparkles like a star-filled sky.

"Here we are! Straight from the new spring collection!" Elenoire beams. "I’m absolutely certain this dress will look breathtaking on you! Believe me, I don’t recommend it very often. It takes an exceptional figure to wear it without looking out of place. But on you... it’ll be perfect. Trust me."

Before Kimberly even has a chance to object, Elenoire ushers her into the fitting room and slips inside right after her.

As for me, she doesn’t even spare me another glance. The moment I paid, she completely forgot I existed, focusing all of her attention on Kimberly instead.

I’ve got to give her credit.

She really knows how to do her job.

Then, a few minutes later, the fitting room door finally opens...

Good God. Kimberly is... breathtaking.

Almost as beautiful as Veronica — and I’m not even exaggerating.

That electric-blue dress, covered in shimmering details, makes her look like a princess straight out of a fairy tale. The plunging neckline highlights her generous curves better than anything I’ve ever seen her wear — curves I’d only imagined until now. And those legs... long, smooth, perfectly toned...

Yet the most beautiful thing about her isn’t the dress.

It’s her smile.

A shy, almost embarrassed smile, yet one filled with a happiness she’s clearly trying to hide as she admires herself in the mirror, slowly turning from side to side.

She’s a genuine masterpiece of nature. There’s no doubt about that. But I can’t let myself get carried away.

I simply nod, keeping my reaction measured and restrained.

Elenoire, however, doesn’t look particularly satisfied.

"Just a nod of approval? Seriously? Keep in mind I even offered your girlfriend the chance to wear that dress at the fashion show we’re holding next month to launch our new spring collection!"

There it is again... my girlfriend.

But Kimberly is probably far too excited to notice, and I don’t even bother correcting her.

"Let’s just hope that burn on your right leg fades enough to be covered with a little concealer by then," Elenoire adds.

A burn...?

Oh. Right.

She has a long burn scar running from her ankle all the way up to the back of her right knee.

Since she always wears leggings, I’d never noticed it before. Actually, I probably wouldn’t have noticed it now either if Elenoire hadn’t pointed it out.

Yeah... My eyes had definitely been focused elsewhere.

It must be the injury that kept her home from school for a week.

Although, didn’t she say she’d sprained her ankle during a hike and scraped it on a branch?

That doesn’t look anything like a fall. Let alone a scratch.

Whatever. None of my business.

"So?" Elenoire presses. "Isn’t she absolutely stunning?"

At this point, a compliment is unavoidable.

A calm yet warm, "Yeah... it really suits her," is more than enough to satisfy Elenoire without making Kimberly uncomfortable. If I’d said what was actually going through my head, Kimberly would’ve died of embarrassment on the spot.

"Perfect... Now then, technically this dress costs eleven thousand dollars — and believe me, that’s a bargain for a gown adorned with diamonds — but since she’s agreed to model it at our fashion show... let’s say... hmm... eight thousand."

"E-Eight thousand dollars...?" Kimberly repeats, her voice trembling.

Yeah, of course. What was she expecting? Twenty bucks, like the stuff she usually buys at outlet stores?

"T-Thank you, Miss Elenoire, but I’m afraid I can’t affor—"

"We’ll take it," I cut her off flatly.

W-What...? Why did I say that?

My mouth moved on its own.

I’ve never spent that kind of money on a girl I’d only gone out with once — especially one I haven’t even slept with.

What the hell is wrong with me?

But it’s too late now.

The damage is done, and backing out now would only make me look like a complete idiot.

"N-No, Axel, I don’t want you to—"

"Excellent choice, Axel," Elenoire cuts her off. "Kimberly, you’re incredibly lucky to have such a generous and thoughtful boyfriend. Ugh... I’m so jealous."

And once again, she doesn’t even give Kimberly the chance to explain that I’m not her boyfriend.

The beautiful blue dress is already folded, wrapped, and slipped into a shopping bag.

And then... BEEP!

The sound of my credit card tapping the payment terminal.

All right. Let’s call it an investment.

A way to make sure she’ll want to go out with me again.

Although, realistically speaking, with eight thousand dollars I could’ve paid for an entire harem of high-end escorts instead of securing a maybe-second-date with a girl who still thinks I’m dating someone else.

Why the hell did I lie about that...?

Oh, right.

Because if I hadn’t pretended to be taken, Kimberly probably never would’ve agreed to go out with me in the first place.

But... Is that really the only reason I bought her the dress?

Sometimes I don’t even understand myself.

"I don’t know why you did it, Axel. But... thank you. Truly, thank you from the bottom of my heart."

And yet, despite the sparkle lighting up her emerald-green eyes, I catch a hint of sadness in her voice.

Maybe she doesn’t like feeling indebted to me.

Still, regardless of what her words say...

That smile of hers... That sweet, shy, genuinely happy smile she wore when she saw herself in the mirror wearing that dress...

Who knows... Maybe that’s the real reason I bought it for her.

Meanwhile, Elenoire’s shrill voice rings out behind us.

"It was a pleasure having you here! I hope you both have a wonderful day, and I look forward to seeing you again soon!"

Fuck you.
