My Horny Stepmom Turns Me into Her Vampire Slave

Chapter 152 152: Epilogue: Marching toward New York

"So... this is Earth? Honestly, I expected something a little more impressive. What a disappointment..." comments with a sigh Evelyne Vesper, one of the members of the Crimson Requiem,

"Yeah... I had high expectations too, but... fuck. Trees, trees, and more trees! Not to mention the bugs and the heat!" adds her twin brother, Lazarus.

Constantine shakes his head in exasperation.

"Obviously the entire planet isn't like this. This place is called the Amazon Rainforest. It's one of the most dangerous and untouched regions on Earth, which is why the portal we came through wasn't guarded by Monster Slayers. But the areas beyond the forest almost certainly are, so let's avoid drawing too much attention to ourselves."

"Ugh... you're as boring as ever..." Dorian Mordane grumbles. "More importantly, what do we do now?"

"We'll head for the city where Levreeshka claimed to have detected Princess Mia — New York. I doubt she's still there, but it's where we'll begin our search," Constantine replies.

"How many hours of walking is it from here?"

"If we don't waste time, about two weeks."

"WHAAAAAT?!" Evelyne explodes. "You're joking, right?! Then why the hell did we come through a portal this far away?!"

"Because, as I just told you, this one isn't directly guarded due to how remote and inaccessible it is. Every portal closer to New York is under heavy HESPARC surveillance."

"So what? They're just humans. We could've killed them all without much trouble! Better that than walking for two damn weeks!" Dorian snaps.

"And on top of that, all these annoying insects keep getting my armor dirty. Not to mention the humidity ruining my hair. It's starting to piss me off..." hisses Blake Dulcar, Markus Dulcar's eldest son.

The five members of the Crimson Requiem push their way through the dense vegetation of the Amazon Rainforest for several hours when something suddenly catches their attention.

They come to an abrupt halt at the sound of noises that clearly don't belong to any animal.

On top of that, frantic footsteps echo all around them.

In the blink of an eye, they find themselves surrounded by dozens of dark-skinned humans, nearly naked or dressed in little more than scraps of clothing.

They're armed with spears, blowguns, and in some cases, even simple stones.

The tribesmen remain motionless, their weapons trained on the five vampires.

"So... these are humans...? And those are their weapons...? We really took such a massive detour because we were afraid of pathetic creatures like these?!" Evelyne scoffs.

"If all humans were like this, we'd have conquered this world already, don't you think?" Constantine replies, irritated. "They're obviously members of some primitive tribe. In this world, it's not uncommon to find isolated villages of undeveloped peoples in remote places like this. None of them will know how to use Sacred Light, so they're completely harmless."

An amused grin spreads across Evelyne's face.

Then, using her own blood, she forms a small throwing knife between her index and middle fingers.

"Perfect. Then let's make this interesting — whoever kills the most wins!"

The instant she says it, she hurls the knife at one of the tribesmen, driving it clean through his skull and killing him on the spot.

A moment later, she forms three more knives at once and drops three more humans.

"Hey, that's not fair, sis! Those four don't count! You killed them before the contest even started!" Lazarus protests, conjuring a long blood spear.

"Quit whining and get in there, brother! Better yet, start thinking of an excuse for when you lose!"

Dorian joins the slaughter as well, a short sword in each hand.

Blake takes a few steps back to avoid getting blood on his armor.

A few drops still manage to reach him, and he immediately wipes them away before turning his irritation on the others.

"Damn it, is it really that hard to kill these nobodies without spraying blood everywhere?! I swear, if you stain my armor again, I'm not letting any of you have fun anymore!"

Meanwhile, Constantine can do nothing but watch the massacre unfold.

He knows killing these tribesmen is unavoidable, but he cannot stand the way his teammates treat death as a game, showing no respect whatsoever for their enemies.

In nearly twenty years with the Crimson Requiem, Constantine has never killed anyone unless it was necessary — and even then, never with more cruelty than required.

The same cannot be said for Evelyne, Lazarus, and Dorian.

During their time on N'Raeth searching for the surviving Volkom, he watched those three wipe out dozens upon dozens of villages and slaughter thousands of humans for nothing more than amusement.

All of it with the approval of Blake Dulcar, the true commander of the Crimson Requiem, despite the fact that Constantine officially holds that title.

The slaughter carried out by the Crimson Requiem lasts no more than the blink of an eye.

In a matter of seconds, the Amazonian tribe is completely wiped out, overwhelmed by the vastly superior strength of the three vampires.

"And once again, I win! Twenty-one humans, guys! Twenty-one! You two only got eighteen each!" Evelyne cheers, as delighted as a child opening birthday presents.

"Twenty-one minus the four you killed before the contest started, which leaves you with seventeen," Dorian points out. "That means Lazarus and I are tied for first place with eighteen each, and you're in last place with seventeen."

"You're really starting to piss me off, Dorian! If we held a competition for who can come up with the most excuses, you'd win that one for sure!"

"And you'd win the one for cheating!"

Lazarus steps between them before the argument can escalate.

"Come on, friends. I'm sure this forest is crawling with villages full of these primitive humans. There's no reason to fight over something so trivial. Let's find another one and continue from our current score. The contest ends when we leave the Amazon Rainforest, deal?"

"Like hell it does," Blake cuts in. "The sooner we're out of this forest, the better. I don't want to spend a single extra minute in this heat and with all these damn insects. Evelyne wins this round, and until we're out of here, the games are over."

"Ugh, fine..." Dorian grumbles while Evelyne's mocking laughter continues in the background.

At last, Constantine moves to the front of the group and resumes marching.

"Come on, let's move. And save your strength for when we have to face Princess Mia Valakys — and, more importantly, the Platinum Death. Trust me, you're going to need it."
