Chapter 89: B - Succubi, magic and other crazy stuff
"Eliss... what are you still doing here?!"
She sits on the couch, composed — now fully dressed.
"What do you mean? You’re my boyfriend — it’s only natural I take care of our home and make sure I always look my best for you. And next time you bring a friend over, let me know first. That was... really embarrassing," she murmurs, blushing.
"Will you stop calling me your boyfriend?! What is this, some kind of hidden camera prank? Come on, everyone out — the joke’s over! Someone’s definitely laughing at me right now! It’s getting dark, and there’s no way I’m letting you stay here another night, so... out!"
On the outside, Aoshi looks calm and composed — but inside, he’s a volcano ready to erupt.
Last night, when I told her to stay, I honestly thought she was just drunk. I mean, she was rambling about spending the rest of her life with me when we’d met, what, two minutes earlier? But today... it’s even worse!
Maybe she’s a psychopath. One of those women who seduce guys, get invited over, and then kill them in their sleep?! Well, if that’s the case, it’s a little late to do anything about it — she already spent the night here! Yeah... no doubt about it. Either this is a prank, or she’s completely out of her mind.
Whatever the truth is, one thing’s certain — there’s no way she’s actually in love with me. If there’s one thing Miori taught me, it’s never to trust beautiful women. When someone completely out of your league suddenly shows interest, there’s always something off. Always.
This morning was humiliating beyond belief. I was the laughingstock of the entire university.
I got played once because I was stupid — but it won’t happen again. Whatever Eliss is planning, I won’t let her make a fool out of me.
"It’s not a joke, idiot..." Eliss murmurs, rubbing her thighs. "I... I’m really in love with you. Madly in love, to be precise..."
Aoshi’s face shifts in an instant — from a soft pink to a deep, burning red — a storm of agitation, embarrassment, and anger that leaves him completely thrown.
"W-What are you talking about?! We don’t even know each other! How can you say you’re madly in love with me?! There’s no way a bombshell like you would ever fall for someone like me!"
"And yet... it’s the truth. Besides, even if I wanted to, I wouldn’t know where else to go..."
"W-What do you mean you don’t know where to go?! You have a home, don’t you?! Parents who must be freaking out looking for you right now!"
Wait... Eliss has been out since last night. What if someone’s looking for her? What if they’ve already called the police?!
Shit... if the cops show up and tear my place apart, they’ll find those erotic RPGs that pervert Takuma dumped here so his mom wouldn’t find them — and I’m not even sure that stuff’s legal!
Damn it, damn it, damn it... I have to get her out of here before I end up in jail because of her!
"My home is far away — farther than you can imagine. Think of any place in this world. Now... it’s even farther than that. Infinitely farther. And now imagine the only way for me to get there is something I’m currently unable to use. And the reason for all of this is..."
I... I don’t want to tell him who I really am. Raelor always warned me to hide my true identity outside the kingdom. After all, my drunkard of a father is the king of Ravessia, and as a princess, I’d be an easy target for its enemies.
But he’s the one who holds my heart now. I can’t lie to him — it’s stronger than me! No matter how hard I try to resist the Seduction Magic that somehow backfired on me, I can’t... my body moves on its own, and my will is slowly being overtaken by the magic.
I have no choice — I’ll tell him everything. Only then will that idiot finally understand why I, the most beautiful creature to ever exist, am so hopelessly obsessed with someone as worthless as him!
"...the reason is that I don’t belong to this world."
"Y-You don’t belong to this world...? First you say you’re crazy about me, and now this? What do you take me for, some gullible idiot?! How far are you going to push this just to make me look like a fool?!"
Eliss ignores him completely. She shoots up from the couch so fast Aoshi nearly falls backward in shock.
Then she shuts the windows one by one, making sure no one outside can see in.
The apartment is swallowed by darkness — not a single ray of light gets through, as if night itself had fallen.
Two enormous violet wings burst from Eliss’s back, like those of a giant bat, as a sinister glow engulfs her.
"W-What kind of trick is this?! They must’ve dragged me into one of those insane high-budget prank shows to pull something like this off..." Aoshi stammers, trembling like jelly in an earthquake.
But really, who could blame him? It’s not every day you come face to face with a real demon.
"No trick, my beloved Aoshi. At this very moment, you stand before Princess Eliss Narkhalis — second daughter of Azhelar Narkhalis, ruler of the glorious Kingdom of Ravessia!"
"R-Ravessia... a kingdom of what? Is it, like... somewhere near Russia?"
"No, idiot — it’s not from this world. It’s part of Elyndra, a parallel one. Do you really think a kingdom with millions of demons could exist here without anyone noticing? Aaah... of all the humans I could’ve fallen for, it had to be an idiot like you?"
"I don’t think a girl should talk to her boyfriend like that..."
"Honesty is the foundation of a deep and lasting bond like ours!"
So she really does think I’m an idiot. Great...
"Anyway... about why I’m madly in love with you," Eliss continues, clearly embarrassed. "The other day I had this brilliant idea to come down to Earth and do some... ahem, firsthand research on humans. Well, it was a complete disappointment... at least until I met you. You were the only man who didn’t fall for my irresistible charm, so... for someone as infinitely beautiful as me, being ignored by you was the ultimate humiliation! So I decided to use my magic to make you fall hopelessly in love with me... but for some reason I still can’t explain, something went wrong — and the spell backfired on me! That’s it. Now do you understand why I said I’m not pretending?"
Succubi... magic... parallel worlds... No, that’s impossible — this can’t be real!
Aoshi’s limited human brain isn’t built to process something this absurd — far beyond anything someone unaware of Elyndra could comprehend. And like a computer suddenly forced to run incomprehensible code — BEEP — system crash.
Shutting down.
