Chapter 279: Wipe Them Out
Inside Luna’s private quarters
Luna’s sharp eyes flickered open as a faint pulse of energy rippled through her senses. She sat up slowly, her bare skin still warm from Andrey’s embrace, her tail curling behind her in a lazy, alert curve.
"Someone’s entered my territory," she murmured, her voice low and controlled. "Multiple presences. They’re not trying to hide."
Morgana’s red eyes sharpened, her hand already reaching for her clothes. "Enemies?"
Luna rose gracefully, her doll-like face carrying a hint of amusement. "It could be. But let’s not jump to conclusions. We’ll get dressed first, then I’ll greet our uninvited guests personally."
Andrey and Morgana nodded, quickly pulling on their clothes. Andrey’s torn shirt was beyond saving, so he settled for a fresh one from his inventory, a simple black button-up that he left unbuttoned at the top. His cracked glasses were still on the side table, useless, so he left them behind.
As he adjusted his collar, his gaze drifted to the two women dressing beside him—Morgana’s elegant black dress sliding over her curves, Luna’s slender form bending as she fastened her belt. The sight of them, the way the dim firelight caught their skin, made his body respond despite the lingering exhaustion.
He felt a familiar tightness in his trousers.
Morgana noticed immediately. Her red eyes gleamed with amusement, a slow, teasing smile curving her lips. "Master... you really are insatiable, aren’t you?"
Andrey’s ears reddened, but his voice remained steady. "It’s your fault for being too captivating."
Luna let out a soft, amused laugh, her tail swaying behind her as she finished adjusting her dress. "What a shame. If only we had more time..." She shot him a playful glance over her shoulder. "Let’s deal with these intruders quickly. Then we can continue where we left off."
She strode toward the door, her heels clicking against the stone floor with measured confidence. "Stay close. If they’re here for trouble, they’ll find more than they bargained for."
Andrey and Morgana followed, their footsteps silent and steady as they moved through the corridor. The sounds of the arena below were distant now, muffled by the thick stone walls.
Luna pushed open the heavy oak doors and stepped into the main hall, her gaze sweeping across the figures waiting below. Her voice carried a note of cold authority, cutting through the stillness like a blade.
"Well, well. What brings such distinguished guests to my humble arena so late at night?"
At the center of the hall, Klauster Butcher stood with his massive arms crossed, his bald head gleaming under the dim light. Beside him, Guile Louise lounged against a pillar, his purple hair falling across his sharp features, a faint, amused smile playing on his lips.
Klauster’s voice was a low, dangerous growl. "I’m here for the thief who stole from me. Hand him over, Luna, and I’ll forget this ever happened."
Luna’s lips curved into a slow, knowing smile. "I’m afraid I don’t know what you’re talking about, Klauster. This arena is a place of entertainment, not a refuge for criminals."
Guile’s pale gray eyes flicked past Luna, landing on the figure behind her. His smile widened slightly, his voice smooth and unhurried. "And yet, I see him standing right behind you. So either you’re lying to protect him... or you’re hiding something."
Luna’s smile didn’t waver, but her eyes sharpened. "I have no idea who you’re talking about."
Andrey stepped forward from the shadows, his voice calm and steady as he met Guile’s gaze. "She’s right. I’m not hiding from anyone."
Klauster’s eyes narrowed, a cold, predatory gleam flickering in them. "You. The rat who stole from me. I’ve been looking forward to this."
Guile’s hand rested on the hilt of his blade, his voice a smooth, measured murmur. "My, my. It seems we’ve found our thief."
Luna stepped between them, her voice carrying a sharp edge. "No one touches him in my territory. If you want a fight, you’ll have to go through me first."
Klauster’s voice dropped, a low, dangerous rumble. "Is that so? Then I’ll enjoy watching you burn."
Luna’s phone buzzed sharply, cutting through the tension like a blade. She answered it without taking her eyes off Klauster, her voice cold and clipped.
"Yes?"
The voice on the other end was urgent, laced with the sounds of clashing steel and shouted orders. "My Lady! Klauster’s men have breached the outer perimeter! They’re attacking our positions—"
Luna’s lips curved into a cold smile. "Wipe them out."
The subordinate’s voice was steady, resolute. "Understood, my Lady. They won’t get past us."
The line went dead. Luna pocketed the phone, her sharp eyes fixed on Klauster with cold, unwavering intensity.
"You’ve made a grave mistake, Klauster. Coming here, attacking my people... you’ve sealed your fate."
Klauster’s massive frame shifted, his voice a low, dangerous rumble. "You think your little arena fighters can stop me? I’ve crushed stronger opponents than you, Luna."
Luna’s smile widened, sharp and predatory. "We’ll see about that."
Andrey stepped forward, his voice calm but carrying a note of genuine regret. "I’m sorry, Luna. It seems I’ve brought trouble to your doorstep."
Luna glanced at him, her expression softening just slightly. "Don’t apologize, Andrey. They’re nothing but insects. Crushing them will be a pleasure."
Guile’s pale gray eyes narrowed, a flicker of curiosity crossing his sharp features. He observed Luna’s demeanor, the way she moved, the way she spoke—and then his gaze shifted to Andrey, studying him with renewed interest.
"Interesting," Guile murmured, his voice smooth and unhurried. "You’re a thief who stole from Klauster, and yet you’ve managed to earn the loyalty of this arena’s ruler. What exactly did you do to make her so obedient?"
Andrey stepped forward, his gaze meeting Guile’s evenly. "That’s none of your business."
Guile’s smile widened, a flicker of amusement dancing in his pale gray eyes. "Oh? A man of mystery. How intriguing."
Klauster’s voice cut through the exchange, sharp and commanding. "Enough talk. I didn’t come here to listen to you two chat." He took a step forward, his massive frame casting a shadow across the room. "I’m here for what was stolen from me—and for the thief who took it."
He cracked his knuckles, a low, grinding sound that echoed through the hall. "Get ready to die."
Andrey’s hand moved to his belt, his posture shifting into a ready stance. His voice was calm, steady. "I’m not going anywhere."
Klauster’s lips curled into a cold, bloodthirsty grin. "Good. I was hoping you’d say that."
Guile moved first.
His blade sang as it left its sheath, a streak of silver slicing through the dim light toward Andrey’s throat. Andrey reacted on instinct, his hand snapping to his inventory. The staff materialized in his grip just in time—metal clashed against metal with a sharp, ringing echo that reverberated through the hall.
Guile’s pale gray eyes gleamed with amusement as he pressed the attack, his blade dancing in a series of quick, precise strikes. "Ahh~ This is getting exciting. I was worried tonight would be boring."
Andrey met each strike with controlled precision, his staff deflecting and countering. "I’m glad I could be of entertainment."
Morgana’s transformation was swift and seamless. Violet light erupted around her, and when it faded, her elegant Violet Dusk outfit shimmered in the dim firelight. Her tail lashed behind her as she launched herself at Klauster, her claws aimed at his throat.
Klauster raised a massive arm, blocking the strike with a grunt of effort. His voice was a low, cold growl. "A demon. I should have known."
Morgana’s lips curved into a sharp, predatory smile. "Too slow, old man."
She twisted mid-air, her heel slamming into his jaw. The impact forced him to stagger back a step, but he didn’t fall. His eyes burned with cold fury as he steadied himself.
Morgana clicked her tongue, landing lightly on her feet. "Tch. Tough bastard."
Luna’s voice rang out from behind them, smooth and amused. "Don’t hog all the fun, Morgana."
She raised her hand, and from the shadows around her, a thick, viscous black liquid began to seep from the ground, pooling at her feet. It writhed and twisted, coiling like living smoke, and from its depths, a creature began to take shape—a massive, hulking form with jagged, crystalline limbs and a maw lined with rows of gleaming teeth.
Luna’s lips curved into a slow, cold smile. "My babies are hungry. Let’s give them a feast."
The creature let out a low, guttural hiss, its crystalline eyes locking onto Klauster and Guile. It lunged, its massive claws swinging toward them with devastating speed.
Luna’s voice carried a note of cold satisfaction. "Show them what happens when they intrude on my territory."
Klauster’s eyes widened, his voice a sharp, commanding growl. "Guile! Take care of that thing!"
Guile disengaged from Andrey, his form blurring as he moved to intercept the creature. His blade flashed, carving a deep gash across its crystalline arm, but the wound sealed almost instantly, black ichor seeping from the cut before hardening into new armor.
Guile’s smile widened, a flicker of genuine excitement crossing his sharp features. "Oh, this is going to be fun."
