My Magical Girl System

Chapter 276: The Angel’s Secret

Inside a dimly lit room, illuminated by a dusty chandelier that cast a warm golden glow, the atmosphere felt cozy yet laden with meaning. The walls were made of aged, weathered stone, adorned with a few faded paintings depicting epic battles from eras past. In one corner, a stone fireplace crackled softly, adding warmth to the cool room.

In the center of the room, Andrey sat on the edge of an old but sturdy leather sofa. His chest was still bare, faint scars visible—pink lines where the healing potion and his natural regeneration had done their work. His torn, bloodied shirt lay discarded beside him, leaving him in just his dark trousers. His cracked glasses rested on the side table, useless now. Without them, his gaze seemed sharper, more exposed.

Morgana was pressed close to his side, her arm linked through his, her head resting on his shoulder in a gesture that was both possessive and protective. Her red eyes were fixed on Luna, watchful yet trusting.

Luna sat across from them, her sharp eyes studying Andrey with a mixture of curiosity and grudging respect. She was no longer perched on her human seat—she sat properly now, her doll-like face carrying an expression that was more serious than before.

"Truly beyond expectations," Luna said, her voice smooth but carrying a hint of genuine surprise. "You managed to defeat Morrow. And you’ve shown your courage. I acknowledge that."

Morgana’s lips curved into a proud smile. "I told you. Master would win. So don’t forget our agreement."

Luna let out a slow breath, her tail swaying behind her. "A promise is a promise. I will join you."

Morgana’s voice carried a note of quiet confidence. "You won’t regret it, Luna."

Andrey’s gaze met Luna’s, steady and calm despite the exhaustion still lingering in his body. "I know I’m not at full strength right now. But I will defeat Lucifer. I don’t make promises I can’t keep."

Luna’s tail curled thoughtfully. Then she let out a soft, almost amused hum. "That would be a relief, if it truly happens." She paused, her voice dropping to a more measured tone. "But do you want to make a contract with me? You surely wouldn’t trust me without one. But I hope you won’t make me a Magical Girl like Morgana."

Andrey’s brow furrowed slightly. "Why?"

Morgana’s voice was soft, but carried a weight of understanding. "Luna is different from me. She bears the blessing of Laplace’s soul. That makes her a demon adjutant serving directly under Lucifer."

Luna nodded, her expression turning more serious. "Correct. If Magical Girl power were to enter me, I would be exposed. Morgana won’t be detected because she was never touched by Laplace’s soul in the first place—Lucifer would never suspect it. But I am different. I have been bound to Laplace’s soul for a long time. If I suddenly gained Magical Girl power, Lucifer would notice immediately."

She met Andrey’s gaze, her voice dropping to a near whisper. "I’ve spent centuries surviving under his shadow. I won’t throw that away for a contract that would kill me before I could be of any use."

Andrey was silent for a long moment, his fingers resting on his knee. He could feel Morgana’s warmth beside him, the steady trust in her grip.

He nodded slowly. "Then we’ll find another way. I won’t force a contract on you if it means putting you at risk."

Luna’s tail stilled. A flicker of surprise crossed her face, quickly masked. "You would trust me without a binding contract?"

Andrey met her gaze evenly. "I trust Morgana. And she trusts you. That’s enough for now."

Luna stared at him for a long moment, her sharp eyes searching his face. Then, slowly, a genuine smile spread across her doll-like features.

"You really are different, aren’t you?"

She stepped forward, extending her hand. "Then let’s make a different kind of promise. I’ll help you fight Lucifer—not as a Magical Girl, but as an ally. And in return, when this is over... you’ll help me find a way to be free."

Andrey reached out, his hand clasping hers. "You have my word."

Morgana’s smile widened, her grip on Andrey’s arm tightening. "Welcome to the team, Luna."

Luna’s hand slid down, her fingers brushing lightly against Andrey’s crotch through the fabric of his trousers. Her touch was deliberate, teasing, and her doll-like face curved into a knowing smile.

"You’re very intriguing, Andrey," she murmured, her voice low and silken. "I can’t help myself."

Andrey, still drained from the fight, lacked the strength to push her hand away. His voice came out low, controlled, but tinged with weariness. "What do you mean by that?"

Luna’s tongue traced her lower lip slowly, her sharp eyes never leaving his face. "Your demeanor—so masculine, so confident. It’s incredibly tempting." She let out a soft, breathy sigh. "Ahh~ The way your eyes stay fixed forward, never wavering... it’s so virile. So commanding."

Morgana, still pressed against Andrey’s side, watched the exchange with a knowing glint in her red eyes. She didn’t seem surprised. Her voice was calm, explanatory.

"Luna has always been drawn to dominant, masculine men. It’s one of the reasons she loves this underground arena so much—the raw power, the aggression, the confidence. It excites her."

Luna’s fingers continued their slow exploration, tracing the outline of Andrey’s length through his trousers. She could feel the heat of him, the way his body responded despite his exhaustion.

"I’ve also heard a great deal from Morgana," Luna purred, her voice dropping to a husky whisper. "About how aggressive you are in bed. How you take control." She let out a soft, pleased hum. "It makes me very curious."

Before Andrey could respond, a familiar pink holographic screen flickered to life in the center of the room, its voice bright and cheerful.

System: Oh my~ How exciting! If that’s the case, why not use a Punishment Contract instead?

Andrey’s brow furrowed as he processed the System’s words. He turned his gaze toward Luna, his voice low and measured.

"A punishment contract? Like the one you did with Lumy before? But doesn’t that require Magical Girl power?"

The System’s holographic screen flickered, its voice bright and cheerful, but carrying a hint of calculation.

System: That’s correct, Host. It does require Magical Girl power. However, if we disguise that energy with demonic energy, no one will be able to detect it. It’ll be completely hidden from Lucifer’s notice.

Luna’s sharp eyes narrowed as she watched Andrey speak to the empty air. Her tail curled thoughtfully, and her doll-like face tilted with curiosity.

"Are you... talking to the angel?" she asked, her voice laced with intrigue.

Andrey blinked, caught off guard. "Angel? What do you mean?"

Luna let out a soft, amused laugh, her eyes gleaming with knowing light. "You truly don’t know, do you? How interesting."

Morgana’s red eyes flickered with understanding. "So that’s why... it makes sense now. The power that turned me into a Magical Girl—it came from an angel."

Andrey’s gaze snapped to the System’s holographic screen, his voice sharp. "Hey. What does she mean by that? There’s no way you’re an angel. You’re the one who’s been forcing me to do all those... inappropriate things every day."

The System’s screen flickered, its voice carrying a hint of exasperation.

System: Ugh! Why did you have to say that, you stupid demon?! And how did she know about this?!

Luna’s lips curved into a slow, knowing smile as she watched Andrey’s expression shift. "From the look on your face, it seems the angel is quite upset that I revealed its secret~"

Andrey’s voice carried a note of strained patience. "Luna, what exactly do you know about this ’angel’?"

Luna’s tail curled thoughtfully as she met Andrey’s gaze.

"The angel is the eternal enemy of demons. We’ve been at war for millennia. Lucifer himself has spoken of it many times—that’s how I know." She paused, her sharp eyes studying his face. "And yet, you’re still alive. Despite Lucifer knowing your identity, you haven’t been eliminated. Do you know why?"

Andrey’s brow furrowed, his fingers tightening against his knee. "Why?"

Luna’s lips curved into a knowing smile. "Because the angel and Lucifer made a pact. I don’t know the exact details, but the gist of it is that Lucifer cannot directly attack the angel’s chosen guide. And the reason the angel hasn’t told you this is because the pact also states that the angel cannot reveal anything about the agreement to their guide."

Morgana’s red eyes widened, her grip on Andrey’s arm tightening. "So that’s why... Lucifer never directly attacked Master, even when he had the chance."

Luna nodded slowly. "Exactly. The angel’s protection extends to you, Andrey. But it’s not unconditional. If you ever break the terms of the agreement or if you willingly step into Lucifer’s domain, that protection may not hold."

Andrey’s gaze shifted to the empty space where the System’s holographic screen usually hovered. His voice was low, measured. "You knew about this, didn’t you?"

The System’s screen flickered back to life, its voice carrying a hint of reluctance.

System: ...Yes. I knew. But I couldn’t tell you. The pact prevents me from revealing certain truths directly. I can only guide you—not give you the full picture.
