Chapter 228: Let’s Get Started
The prince was silent after the question.
The butler had already made it clear that he intended to put his lady on the throne, so what made Lucian think he’d be willing to help the competition?
"I’d give it up," Lucian finally spoke up.
"Hm?" Adrian asked, not quite hearing what the prince had said....or at least he pretended not to.
"I’m the next in line after my father," the prince said, "I’m willing to give up the throne."
Adrian silently looked at him for a while; the expression on his face showed that he was being completely serious, which was quite surprising.
He expected the prince to at least withdraw the request for help.
Not offer to abdicate.
«That’s unexpected,» Noctis’s voice was heard in Adrian’s head, as even the cat was quite surprised.
It truly was unexpected.
Adrian looked at Lucian for a long moment before letting out a sigh and saying, "My lady will earn the throne herself. "
To the prince, that sounded like a rejection to help his father, but before he had the chance to sulk, Adrian added,
"But I could help, on one condition. "
"Anything," Lucian said.
He was going to regret that soon enough.

Was this the condition the butler wanted in exchange for helping the king?

The prince soon learned that what was about to happen wasn’t even close to babysitting.
Isla looked towards the prince and then at Adrian to the side, who had a small smile on his face as he looked at her.
"Am I supposed to babysit her?" Lucian finally asked, turning to Adrian.
"Let’s wait for them," Adrian said as he crouched and beckoned Isla, who immediately moved to her.
Conan looked at his younger sister move to Adrian without a word.
Instead, he looked towards the prince, also curious about what his benefactor planned to do to the prince.
A few minutes later, both Renelle and Noelle arrived in the training area of the Academy assigned estate.
Renelle looked at the gathered group, but her eyes were immediately drawn to Adrian, who had Isla in his arms.
For some reason, she thought they looked so cute together right now, but she quickly shook her head to steady her thoughts.
If she started seeing them as cute right now, she’d be completely distracted and unable to understand whatever Adrian had intended to show her.
"It seems everyone’s here," Adrian finally said, causing both Noelle and Lucian to look at each other in confusion.
The butler explained nothing; instead, he just turned towards Isla and asked, "Do you remember everything the headmistress taught you?"
"Hmm," Isla nodded, and Adrian smiled again.
"Great," the butler said before whispering in the girl’s ear and pulling back a second later, "Can you do that?"
"Yes," Isla nodded again, this time without a smile on her face. She then looked towards the training ground and added, "down."
Adrian set her down before adding, "Let’s make sure our performers are ready."
With one last nod from Isla, he then turned towards Noelle and Lucian.
"I know you’re probably wondering what’s happening right now," he started, "you will understand soon enough. For now, I’d like you two to come closer."
Lucian and Noelle exchanged another glance, then both moved closer, stopping a short distance from Isla.
"What exactly is the condition?" Lucian said, looking at Adrian.
"You’ll understand it better by experiencing it," Adrian said.
[Adrian?] Renelle mentally called out, and he turned towards her with a smile on his face.
[I promise it’ll be quite entertaining, my lady,] the butler responded, before also walking to Isla and saying, "Let’s get started."
"Alright," she nodded, and her eyes started glowing.
Her white hair slowly became black as the glow within her eyes got brighter by the second.
She looked up at Adrian, and he understood what she wanted, so he crouched on one knee.
Isla then placed both hands on his head, and the next second, the butler’s eyes also started glowing.
It was a strange sight to all, and they still couldn’t understand what was happening.
But Adrian very much did.
To make realities within one’s mind, Isla always created anchors, and what was happening was basically the same thing.
He was currently being assigned as an anchor, and she had also granted him permission to create or edit her created realities.
Kind of like a moderator role.
Of course, she could still override everything he created, but that was fine.

Adrian then stood up, looked around at the gathered group with a calm expression, and asked, "Shall we get started?"
The two didn’t quite understand what was going on, but Lucian still nodded; after all, he had already promised to do anything.
Whatever this was, he was certain that he could handle it.
Adrian, on the other hand, silently looked at them. On one hand, he could easily let go of what happened in the manhwa since that was a different timeline,
On the other hand, they had hurt his lady and were on the same path again had he not interfered.
So they deserved this punishment.
Hell, this was quite the lax punishment when compared to what his original intention was , so they should be grateful.
After a nod from the Prince, something that looked similar to a spear made from shadows formed in Adrian’s hand.
Without hesitation, or giving them a chance to react, he drove it through both their chests simultaneously.
Both the prince and Noelle looked at him with wide eyes as they this was completely unexpected.
Before they could say anything, darkness quickly swallowing them and they slowly fell to the floor.
Adrian looked at both of them as he said,
"Let’s get started."
