Chapter 14
Chapter 14
You Are My Private Property
The sky gradually darkened.
As Scarlet Moon’s voice fell, only the faint crackling of firewood in the fireplace remained in the hall.
“Above calamity, there is the Divine Throne.”
“Of the nine Divine Thrones, only five are currently occupied.”
“The remaining four seats are candidates.”
Ling Xi’s pupils suddenly contracted.
Luo Long, Yue Qi, Karina… adding Scarlet Moon made exactly four.
Scarlet Moon looked at her expression, the corner of her lips curling into a faint arc, as if she were admiring a toy that had finally learned to understand.
“That’s right, the four of us are candidates.”
“Between Divine Thrones, there is mutual devouring.”
“Whoever secures their seat first can completely erase the other candidates, leaving them without even a chance at reincarnation.”
She paused, her fingertip pressing lightly against Ling Xi’s chest, her voice soft like a lover’s whisper:
“So, I am very busy.”
“Busy growing stronger, busy killing them, and busy… guarding against them coming to steal what is mine.”
As the final word fell, Scarlet Moon’s gaze suddenly turned fierce.
Ling Xi’s heart pounded in fright under that stare. She instinctively shrank back, only to have Scarlet Moon seize her by the waist and pull her even closer.
“You are mine.”
Scarlet Moon enunciated each word slowly, like a brand being seared into flesh.
“If Luo Long dares to touch you, I will rip out all her dragon scales and roast them one by one to go with wine.”
“If Yue Qi dares to touch you, I will sink her cathedral and her followers into the shadows together, and let her slowly go mad listening to the wails of billions of souls.”
“If Karina dares to touch you…”
【Current Fate Points: 33】
“Remember, you are mine.”
“Whoever dares to steal you, I will let them know what true eternal night means.”
“Be good, stop trembling.”
“I wouldn’t really lock you up… unless you try to run.”
Perhaps it was because her mental energy had been overly depleted during the day, or perhaps because the amount of information Scarlet Moon had given her was simply too overwhelming.
The faint glow of the firewood in front of the fireplace illuminated their faces.
Ling Xi gradually fell asleep in Scarlet Moon’s arms.
When she opened her eyes again, she saw the room from last night.
Her memories slowly returned.
Last night, the large fireball, the explosion, polishing shoes… then being held in an embrace.
In the end, it seemed she had fallen asleep by the fireplace?
Ling Xi abruptly sat up and looked down at herself.
She was wearing that familiar beige-white nightdress.
The fabric was dry and soft, carrying a faint scent of incense.
Something was wrong, completely wrong.
At this time yesterday, she had clearly been wearing that black-and-white maid outfit.
It was a one-piece dress, with a row of fine buttons and complicated side laces.
Even taking it off by herself would have taken quite a bit of effort.
Ling Xi’s fingers slowly tightened around the edge of the blanket.
There were only two people in this castle.
Other than herself, there was only that Demon King who treated her like a toy.
Which meant that last night, while she had been sleeping like a dead pig,
Scarlet Moon had carried her back to the room.
She had undone every button on her back.
She had removed the layered petticoats and fabric.
She had taken off those white over-the-knee stockings.
She might even have helped wipe her body down a little?
And in the end, she had helped her change into this nightdress.
Through the entire process, she had known nothing, left completely at another’s mercy.
“Ah!”
Speaking of it, that ability, 【Energy Devotion】…
The system’s description suddenly popped into her mind.
【Actively cuddling close to characters who have strong feelings toward you will replenish their energy.】
The key words were actively and cuddling close.
Yesterday, being held in her arms and then falling asleep in the end, did that count as cuddling close?
During that time, had she replenished Scarlet Moon’s energy?
And as for the condition of actively…
Did it mean the physical contact had to be initiated by her?
Ling Xi buried her face in her palms and let out a wail.
The sound of footsteps outside reached Ling Xi’s ears.
With a click, the lock turned.
Ling Xi shuddered all over and yanked the blanket up to shield her chest.
The door was pushed open, and Scarlet Moon walked in.
She was different today.
She was no longer wearing casual clothes for lounging at home, but an extravagantly gorgeous black-and-red Gothic Lolita dress.
The layered black lace skirt was adorned with dark red ribbons.
Across her chest was an intricate crisscross lacing that tightened around her slender waist.
The little leather shoes were gone, replaced by a pair of black long leather boots that wrapped around her calves, with a circle of delicate metal buckles along the edges of the shafts.
She walked to the bedside and tossed a set of clothes onto the blanket in front of Ling Xi.
“Put it on.”
Ling Xi’s gaze fell on the outfit lying on the blanket.
It was the same style as the one Scarlet Moon was wearing, except its colors were frost white and night-sea blue.
The fabric was soft, the lace exquisite, and it looked expensive.
But that did nothing to lessen the resistance in her heart.
“We’re going out today.”
“Going out?” Ling Xi froze.
“If a toy stays in the castle all the time, it will grow mold.”
After saying that, Scarlet Moon turned and walked to the dressing table in the room, picked up a comb, and began slowly brushing her long hair.
This was her way of giving Ling Xi time to change.
Ling Xi bit her lip, but still threw back the blanket and got out of bed.
The cold air raised a layer of tiny goosebumps on her skin.
She picked up the Lolita dress.
Undergarment, petticoat, corset, outer skirt, hoop skirt.
She put them on one by one.
The process was more complicated than she had imagined, and there was no way she could tie the laces at her back by herself.
While she was still struggling with a mischievous ribbon, Scarlet Moon had already walked behind her.
A pair of slightly cool hands took over that ribbon.
Her fingers moved deftly, threading and tightening it.
A perfectly measured sense of restraint came from around her waist.
Ling Xi walked to the mirror.
The girl in the reflection was wearing a delicate and magnificent dress, her silver-white long hair falling smoothly behind her.
She looked like a doll that had been carefully dressed up.
Just as she was examining that unfamiliar self in the mirror, something was held out before her eyes.
Ling Xi’s gaze was nailed to that object.
It was a black leather collar.
