Chapter 34 : Goblins! New Class 【Hunter】
Chapter 34: Goblins! New Class 【Hunter】
Leo speculated that there were likely many Goblins outside the Training Room—they were probably already surrounded.
“I don’t want to hear your nonsense. I only know this must be reported to the knight hall immediately.”
Leo stopped responding. No amount of good advice could save someone courting death.
On the other side, Rog had already grabbed his Iron Sword and rushed out of the courtyard gate.
But in less than a second—
“Ah! Damn it!”
Rog’s scream came from outside.
The Rog who had just rushed out came scrambling and crawling back in.
Three monkey-like green creatures were clinging to his leg.
Goblins!
Their sharp claws hooked tightly into Rog’s thigh.
With triangular heads and wide mouths, they bared rows of sharp teeth.
The moment Rog stepped out, he had been ambushed by several Goblins.
Relying on brute strength, he shook them off and struggled back.
But those creatures had no intention of letting him go. More and more Goblins rushed through the gate, and the number clinging to Rog kept increasing.
These little monsters seemed to have barbed hooks on their limbs, latching onto his back, arms, and thighs, desperately trying to drag him back outside.
The tall Rog was forcibly dragged down by the growing swarm.
They opened their jagged mouths and waved sharp claws, crazed, trying to tear him apart.
Seeing Rog about to be dragged out the gate by the ever-increasing number of Goblins—
“Damn it!”
“Go save him!”
By the time the Knight’s Squires reacted, Rog had already been dragged to the doorway.
Too late!
At that moment, a sudden figure burst into everyone’s view.
Leo gripped his heavy sword, stepped forward, twisted his body, and executed a horizontal slash!
The Iron Sword let out a heavy tearing sound as it cut through the air, smashing into the mass of Goblins.
Though it was an unsharpened Iron Sword,
under the dual enhancement of Leo’s immense strength and the Power of Dark Tide,
his blade was like a warhammer.
A loud impact rang out—
followed by a series of shrill screams.
Several Goblins were sent flying by Leo’s strike, while the rest scattered instantly.
One of them seemed to have taken a hit to the head, collapsing onto the ground, blood spurting from its mouth and nose.
After twitching a few times, it stopped moving.
But soon, the corpse was dragged away by the other Goblins nearby.
Leo noticed that within a few seconds, the body seemed to melt, turning into a thin pool of blood.
Meanwhile, Leo grabbed Rog from the ground and dragged him back.
The retreating Goblins stared at Leo one by one.
Their eyes were bloodshot, emitting hateful and ferocious hisses.
The remaining Knight’s Squires huddled in the small courtyard, watching what had just happened, then looking at Rog lying on the ground covered in wounds—none of them dared to breathe loudly.
Rog lay on the ground as if his soul had left him, wildly flailing his limbs. “No… no… save me!”
Only when he saw Leo did he calm down slightly.
Just moments ago, he had felt himself surrounded, torn, and devoured.
He had thought he was dead for sure.
Until Leo had dragged him back from hell.
“There are still many Goblins outside. Everyone, stay alert.”
Leo felt his judgment had been correct.
They were already surrounded by a group of Goblins.
But from that single strike just now, he had already formed a rough assessment of these monsters’ strength.
Individually, these Beastkin were not strong.
But they excelled at group combat.
Even someone like Rog had no ability to resist when surrounded by more than a dozen Goblins.
The key was not to get isolated.
“Listen carefully—don’t get separated. Retreat into the Training Room.”
Leo quickly made his decision.
He did not know how many Goblins were outside. The safest option now was to hold their ground here.
Gathering everyone together and using the terrain for defense was the best strategy.
As for the knight hall, Leo judged it should be fine.
With the strength of these Goblins, they posed little threat to Eve Sova.
It was likely that she had not yet discovered the crisis here.
And if even the knight hall had fallen,
then Blackstone City was already doomed.
Everywhere in the city would be dangerous.
This time, after hearing Leo’s words, the squires calmed down slightly.
They followed his instructions and retreated step by step into the Training Room.
When danger arrived, strength spoke above all.
Unknowingly, Leo had replaced Rog as the leader and backbone of this group of Knight’s Squires.
Inside the spacious Training Room, the atmosphere was extremely tense.
Everyone gripped either practice Iron Swords or Wooden Swords, as if facing a great enemy, ready for battle.
A few squires close to Rog were tending to his injuries.
But Laim, who had attacked Leo earlier, had suffered a fatal throat wound—there was no saving him.
As for Rog, although he had dozens of wounds, thanks to Leo’s timely intervention, none were fatal—he had survived.
The air in the Training Room was so still it felt as though it could drip.
They could hear each other’s breathing.
Everyone was worried about what would happen next—they had no idea what to do.
Since arriving in Blackstone City, they had never encountered anything like this.
Two squires were already dead.
And more might follow.
Leo leaned against a stone wall, his eyes fixed on the distant doorway.
He adjusted his breathing, calming himself completely.
At that moment, he twitched his nose and unconsciously moved his ears.
Whether it was an illusion or not, he seemed to hear the Goblins’ sharp cries coming from afar.
There were also faint vibrations from underground.
And in the air—a subtle scent of sulfur.
Leo stared outside, his entire being becoming unusually sharp.
His gaze shifted—he noticed that his panel had just gained a new class.
【Class: Hunter (Green)
Trait: Environmental Awareness (Green) (An experienced hunter, enhanced five senses, able to keenly detect details in the environment)
Skills: Hunting (White) Level 1 1/100 (Discerns prey weaknesses, obtains information about hunted species)
Tracking (White) Level 1 1/100 (Agility +0.1, able to mark the location of prey, mark limit: one)】
A new class had appeared!
【Class: Hunter (Green)】
At the very moment Leo killed a Goblin, this new class had appeared on his panel.
And it was a Green-tier Class.
It seemed that because he had met the conditions, the class was already in an activated state upon appearing.
Looking further down, this class possessed one green trait and two white skills.
【Trait: Environmental Awareness (Green) (An experienced hunter, able to keenly detect subtle details in the environment)】
Leo sniffed again, clearly sensing the sulfur in the air along with the scent of blood.
The blood scent likely came from Rog beside him.
As for the sulfur—
Leo turned his attention to the Hunting skill.
Skill: Hunting (White) Level 1 1/100 (Discerns prey weaknesses, obtains information about hunted species)
【Common Goblin: A carrion-eater from the underground, a mutated entity formed by the fusion of ancient subterranean slaves with chaotic energy. Envious of everything other races possess, driven by greed to plunder Humans’ wealth, food, and women. During winter resource shortages, they become more aggressive. They are obsessed with higher lifeforms and seek to evolve through parasitic methods.
Traits: Skilled at burrowing, hardened claws and knuckles, highly sensitive to vibrations
Weaknesses: Fear of strong light, high-frequency noise, fragile cervical spine, enlarged liver, flat feet that prevent long-distance running
Special Value: None】
