Inside a luxury city apartment in New York.
It was a rare occasion for Kael to wake up alone in his bed. Just as he was about to leave the bedroom for the living room fridge to find something to drink, he saw a shiny bald head sitting on his $100,000 sofa, and his body instantly froze in place.
The bald person was a woman who looked somewhat frail, wearing a yellow monk's robe; her temperament appeared both gentle and refined.
"Good morning, Mr. Wayne."
The bald woman turned her head and greeted him with a smile. Her gaze unconsciously swept downward, and a hint of amazement flickered in her eyes.
In terms of physical assets alone, Kael was indeed exceptionally well-endowed.
Snap.
Kael closed the bedroom door.
A moment later, he walked out having changed into a set of pajamas and sat down opposite the bald lady.
"I presume I don't need to introduce myself."
The bald woman curled her lips slightly, her gaze seemingly able to strike directly at the soul.
"You should still introduce yourself, just for formality's sake. After all, this is technically our first meeting."
Kael wasn't particularly surprised by this meeting.
After all, there were far too many 'observers' in the Marvel Universe. There was no need to worry about his identity or origins, because if a truly powerful being wanted to erase him for that, they wouldn't have waited until today.
Since Kael had been able to live well until now, it meant his existence had long been permitted; he was part of the story.
"My name is Ancient One, I am from Kamar-Taj, and I am a sorcerer."
"Hello, Sorcerer Ancient One."
Kael nodded, and the two were officially introduced.
"I haven't come to see you for any particular reason other than that I suddenly saw other possibilities within you. Are you interested in learning magic with me?"
Ancient One stated her purpose directly.
For someone like Kael who had read the'script,' many things could be said a bit more bluntly.
She didn't care whether Kael was 'transmigrated' or 'reborn.'
Similar scripts were nearly clichéd in the current marvel Multiverse, especially to a Sorcerer Supreme who could observe endless timelines; it was practically devoid of novelty.
Ancient One herself had not only read many marvel'scripts,' she even had the qualification to write in them—even if it was just a small segment concerning herself, it was enough to prove her uniqueness.
What truly concerned her was the possibility of change within Kael.
They say fate is fickle, but the span of fate's change in Kael was simply too large. Furthermore, Ancient One found it difficult to find the nodes within it. How could he wake up from a sleep and suddenly have the possibility of taking over her shift?
However, Ancient One didn't intend to probe the reasons behind it.
She knew very well that if she couldn't find the result on the scale of time, it only proved she shouldn't be searching for it.
The waters of the Marvel Universe were too deep; too many Sorcerer Supremes had drowned due to curiosity. Ancient One just wanted to retire peacefully. As for teaching Kael, that was merely to leave a seed of goodwill.
Of course, if Kael were willing to take over her shift, that would naturally be for the best, but the possibility was simply too low.
Ancient One had seen many futures. Among those where this achievement could be successfully reached, the price required was too heavy. It was better to continue looking for Strange, the 'Ancient One's' hand-picked choice.
"Learn magic?"
Kael was somewhat interested, but thinking of the dull and tedious living environment at Kamar-Taj, he couldn't help but hesitate.
He hadn't had enough of this colorful world yet, and she wanted him to become an ascetic monk?
Do you take me for Strange?
I haven't become a cripple, sold off my family estate, or gone bankrupt and homeless.
"I can open a back door for you and let you be a commuter student."
Ancient One had long foreseen this and calmly added.
"Uh."
"The Time Stone can also be given to you for safekeeping for a period in the future."
"Teacher, when do we start classes?"
Kael put on the face of a model student.
Sure enough, there was no one Ancient One couldn't persuade.
"No rush. Take this call first."
Ancient One smiled faintly. Just as she finished speaking, a call came through to the smartphone Kael had released not long ago; it was from Tony.
"Kael! Get over here quick, I've got something good to show you!"
"What is it?"
Tony didn't answer and just hung up the phone.
"Tomorrow morning at ten, I'll come pick you up for class."
As Ancient One spoke, she raised her hand and drew a circle. Sparks flickered, and a portal leading to Kamar-Taj opened. A biting cold wind poured through the portal into the living room, making Kael's crotch feel a sudden chill.
"Alright, Teacher."
Kael waved his hand and said goodbye to Ancient One.
Actually, he didn't even need to think to know what Tony wanted to show him—it was, of course, the new element he had created.
While Kael was working hard to break Tony's record for cover girls, Nick Fury was also steadily advancing his progress in recruiting Tony.
Tony was the key factor in the formation of the Avengers.
Without his capital power and influence, the Avengers Nick wanted would be hard to establish.
Kael didn't care much about these things, as long as Nick didn't come to harass him when there was nothing going on.
Saving the world was enough for Tony and the others. If he could save a few more of those wayward women, he would already be considered to have made an outstanding contribution to society.
But since Tony had called, Kael naturally had to give him face. It was also a good chance to learn a thing or two.
After changing his clothes and eating a little something, Kael randomly picked a luxury car from the garage.
"Abao, destination: Tony's house."
"Received. Please fasten your seatbelt."
The electronic voice of four seasons treasure sounded, and the vehicle entered smart driving mode, slowly driving out of the garage... As soon as Tony saw Kael arrive, he couldn't wait to show off his results.
"I don't need to worry about palladium poisoning anymore."
Tony tilted his chin up, his face full of pride.
Although it was subtle, Kael still saw the meaning he wanted to express.
"As expected of Tony Stark."
Kael cooperated and satisfied the other party. After all, he still had to learn this trick from him later, so what was wrong with saying a few nice words?
Tony showed a look of satisfaction. The same praise coming from different people carried completely different weight.
"But this isn't just my own achievement."
Tony's tone shifted, becoming slightly low and serious as he slowly began to tell the story of his father.
To be able to tell Kael these things meant Tony truly considered him a close friend.
In fact, Tony didn't have many friends.
Kael cooperated with a look of empathy. After all, in this life in marvel, he hadn't even seen his parents. If one were to really talk about background, he was much more tragic than Tony.
Compared to him, Tony suddenly felt a lot more comforted.
"Let's not mention the past. I heard your nature has changed recently and you haven't even gone to the night clubs. You didn't suffer some kind of shock, did you?"
Tony didn't like showing his fragile inner side in front of others and quickly changed the subject.
Speaking of this, it was Pepper who had reported it to Tony. This couple both cared quite a bit about Kael's private life.
After all, Kael's current status and position in the group were pivotal. Many eyes were on him, worrying that someone would use this as a breakthrough to set a trap for him.
But if Kael really did suffer some kind of emotional deception, Tony would definitely be the one to laugh out loud.
"Can't you think better of me for once?"
Kael gave Tony a sideways glance and then explained.
"I just found a talent and want to pull them into our group. For that, I'm even willing to sacrifice myself."
Tony directly filtered out the second half of the sentence, took the phone Kael handed over, and checked the information on the talent he mentioned.
"Helen? South Korean."
Tony took one look at the photo of this Korean scientist and showed a look that said 'I knew it.' To think he really thought Kael had changed for the better; it turned out he had just eaten too much Western food and now wanted to switch to Japanese or Korean flavors.
"What kind of person do you take me for? This Helen is indeed a talent with unique insights into biomedicine and nanotechnology."
Kael defended himself righteously, his voice very infectious. If Tony didn't know his character so well, he might have actually believed this rhetoric.
"Then please, when you invite her to dinner, don't put it on the company's tab. Are you really that short on cash?"
Tony believed Kael's judgment of Helen Cho, but he believed even more that it wouldn't be long before Kael invited Helen Cho to his bed.
Just look at this young, beautiful face and graceful figure.
Picking up girls is one thing, but Kael spent the company's money every time.
Tony really didn't want this kind of sense of participation at all.
"Didn't I learn all this from you?"
Kael spread his hands, physically putting into practice his previous statement that Tony was his idol.
In fact, what Tony didn't know was that besides the dinner and shopping which he did himself, all the other chats, calls, and texts were four seasons treasure mimicking Kael to communicate with Helen Cho.
This was called fully automated AI girl-chasing.
Especially for someone like Helen Cho, who had been buried in her studies in the past and had fought her way from an environment like Seoul to New York without experiencing much emotional baptism.
And now, she had just taken the initiative to ask Kael out for dinner.
From the information gathered by four seasons treasure, Ms. Helen Cho had even specially purchased an expensive outfit for this. Given her current personal assets, it was quite a splurge.
Tony stopped talking. In the area of private life, he really didn't have much grounds to lecture Kael, so he hurriedly interrupted.
"Enough with the useless talk. Come over and help me record and analyze; I'm going to build a new generation of Arc Reactor."
"You got it!"
Kael's enthusiasm instantly surged.
He also needed to confirm whether the new element Tony created had room for application in other fields.
He really should update his equipment system to add a sense of security.
One should know that the next major event node was about to arrive.
Even if he didn't want to participate, even if it was just to protect his personal assets, Kael had to put in some effort. He didn't expect those insurance companies to compensate him for his losses.
Though it was called a newly created element, it was actually discovered by Tony's father from the tesseract, but he was limited by the technological conditions of the time and couldn't synthesize it.
After a round of testing, Kael seemed unable to find any application for this new element, so he could only have Abao record it. He left Tony's house with a bit of regret to rush to his next date.
"Master, Ms. Helen Cho has sent a message saying she's ready. However, according to my calculations, it will take her at least another twenty minutes to come out of the walk-in closet."
four seasons treasure reminded him.
"Twenty minutes? That's already considered fast. Are the reserved room, flowers, and gifts all ready?"
Kael's moves were old-fashioned, but they were all very effective.
And you have to understand, what you think are old-fashioned moves are only for the general female population. For someone like Helen Cho, who hasn't tried them, how can she say they're old-fashioned?
"Everything is ready."
Kael parked the car downstairs at the apartment building where Helen Cho lived.
The luxurious car body soon attracted a lot of attention. Western ladies never disguised their gold-digging tendencies.
Soon, a beautiful young student knocked on Kael's car window, squeezed out a cleavage from her chest, and said in a soft, charming voice.
"Can you take me for a spin? Handsome."
"Sorry, maybe not today. I'm waiting for someone here."
Kael said with regret. If it were any other time, he would still be interested in having a friendly match with such a vibrant beauty, but just as Tony thought, Kael was a bit tired of Western food.
"I don't mind three people."
The female student blinked her eyes, still trying hard.
However, at this moment, Helen Cho finally walked down from upstairs. Inside her red coat, she wore a high-collared black sweater, paired with a skirt and short boots on her lower half.
Her already fair and beautiful skin was touched with a bit of light makeup.
It both highlighted her original cool temperament and made her look a bit more youthful and fashionable.
In comparison, the originally beautiful female student looked a bit gaudy.
"Did I keep you waiting long?"
Helen Cho said somewhat apologetically. If she hadn't seen Kael's car from upstairs, she would probably still be struggling with her lip gloss shade.
For the first date, Helen Cho naturally wanted to show her best side to Kael.
You ask what those previous meetings were?
They were interviews.
Not just anyone could enter Kael's newly established research institute.
The still-young Ms. Helen Cho had not yet proven herself in the field of scientific research.
Leaving aside Kael's idea of wanting to sleep with her, the two of them were not actually on equal footing.
"It was indeed a bit of a wait, but looking at you now, it was well worth it."
Kael took a good look at Helen Cho's outfit and praised her subtly.
"Thank you."
Helen Cho lowered her head somewhat shyly, a surge of joy in her heart.
Kael turned the steering wheel and took Helen Cho to the pre-booked restaurant. He didn't believe that after a series of moves tonight, he wouldn't be able to win the beauty... Meanwhile, on the other side.
Anton Vanko had just been kicked out of his home by his landlord. Facing this big black man holding a shotgun, he could only grit his teeth and turn to leave.
Being kicked out by the landlord was actually nothing; it was bound to happen sooner or later. Who told Anton to be overdue on his rent?
But the problem was that this damn big black man had sold the things in his room as scrap metal. Inside were the reactor and electric whip weapon he had worked so hard to build while scrimping and saving.
Without this equipment, what would Anton use to seek revenge on Tony?
It's all the fault of that Chinese guy who reported illegal workers!
If it weren't for him, how would he have lost his dishwashing job in Chinatown, to the point of being unable to pay the rent?
Now, what Anton had to consider was no longer revenge, but how to clear the 'homeless winter' dungeon of New York.
To be honest, he missed the roasted potatoes of his hometown a little now.
