Chapter 671 : Valentine’s Day Has Arrived
"Today is Valentine’s Day, huh~"
Ling Ning sat in her classroom, realizing that time had flown by. The school term had resumed for several days, and students had fallen back into their usual routines.
Today was the so-called "Barbecue Day." Well, actually, it was Valentine’s Day.
For Ling Ning, Valentine’s Day wasn’t particularly important. To her, every day spent with someone she loved was Valentine’s Day. Without someone special, it simply turned into a casual day of grilling skewers.
As she pondered this, Ling Ning turned to Xia You and asked, "Xia You, is there a Valentine’s gift you’d like?"
"A gift? I haven’t thought of one yet. Can I take a rain check? Maybe tonight I’ll come up with something challenging for you, like trying some high-difficulty poses," Xia You replied with a straight face.
"Absolutely not! Please don’t!"
Shaking her head, Ling Ning leaned forward and rested her head on Xia You’s lap. She was exhausted after staying up late writing, her eyelids growing heavier by the second. All she wanted now was a good nap.
Just as she was about to drift off, a classmate approached and said, "Xia You, someone’s looking for you outside."
"Hmm?"
Xia You blinked in surprise. She rarely spoke to anyone outside her close circle, so it was unexpected for someone to be looking for her.
Ling Ning, overhearing this, sighed and reluctantly lifted her head. "Go on, Xia You. Check it out~"
"Alright. I’ll be back soon."
From her seat, Ling Ning could see the doorway. She noticed a handsome boy standing outside, speaking with Xia You. However, Xia You’s expression remained indifferent. After a short conversation, she returned to her seat.
Curious, Ling Ning asked, "What was that about?"
"Nothing much. Someone just confessed to me."
Xia You replied nonchalantly. Ling Ning wasn’t surprised. "Well, Xia You, you’re beautiful. It’s only natural for someone to confess to you." She chuckled softly and laid her head back on Xia You’s lap.
She didn’t even bother asking about Xia You’s response—it was obvious.
Xia You glanced down at Ling Ning and asked, "Do you think I’m... beautiful?"
"Of course! You’re the most beautiful, Xia You. The cutest in the world!"
"As long as Ling Ning thinks so, I’m happy."
Xia You smiled gently, reaching out to straighten Ling Ning’s slightly messy bangs.
Behind them, their classmate Tian Tian sighed helplessly. After spending so much time with these two stunning girls, he was certain their relationship was anything but ordinary. Their interactions made it clear.
He had long given up any hope of winning their attention, but he had to admit—this yuri-flavored "dog food" was unexpectedly delicious.
Though Ling Ning wanted to continue napping, the first class of the day was Bai Jie’s, leaving her no choice but to sit up reluctantly.
When Bai Jie entered the classroom, her eyes instinctively flicked toward Ling Ning. Seeing Ling Ning’s drowsy expression, Bai Jie immediately guessed that she had stayed up late.
Quickly regaining her composure, Bai Jie reminded herself that her priority was teaching, not watching Ling Ning.
After clearing her throat, she began her lecture.
To Ling Ning’s surprise, Bai Jie seemed unusually lenient today. Normally, if Bai Jie caught her slacking off, she would have been called out to answer questions. But now, it seemed like she might actually get away with taking a nap.
Unable to resist, Ling Ning yawned and rested her head on her desk. She quickly fell asleep.
Although Bai Jie noticed, she hesitated for a moment and decided not to disturb her.
It wasn’t until class ended that Ling Ning opened her eyes, amazed that she had slept through the entire lesson. Stretching lazily, she stood and left the classroom, heading for the restroom.
On her way out, her phone vibrated. Glancing at the screen, she saw it was her clingy childhood friend, Bai Yiyue.
"Hello, Xiao Bai?"
"Hi, Ling Ning! Where are you right now?"
Hearing Bai Yiyue’s excited tone, Ling Ning raised an eyebrow. Something felt off.
"Where else would I be? I’m at school."
"I know you’re at school. I meant which building! I forgot where your classroom is!"
Of course. Bai Yiyue had come to school uninvited. Ling Ning sighed, remembering the last time Bai Yiyue’s visit ended with Bai Jie catching her. Did she have no fear of being exposed?
Still, since she was already there, Ling Ning had no choice but to deal with her. If left alone, Bai Yiyue was bound to cause a scene.
"Where are you? I’ll come get you."
"I’m in a big garden."
"Stay there. I’m on my way."
After hanging up, Ling Ning made her way to the flower garden near her building. Thankfully, it wasn’t far, or she wouldn’t make it back in time for class.
The garden was bustling with people taking photos or sketching. Ling Ning scanned the area but didn’t see Bai Yiyue anywhere.
Suddenly, she felt a tap on her shoulder. Turning around, she saw an unfamiliar girl. No, it was Bai Yiyue in disguise.
With a wig and near-perfect makeup, even Ling Ning had almost been fooled at first glance.
"How do I look? This is my ultimate disguise!"
"Not bad. So, why are you here? Aren’t you afraid of being recognized?"
"With this disguise? If someone recognizes me, I’ll admit defeat. Besides, I came to spend Valentine’s Day with you, of course~"
