How Could I Possibly Have a Daughter After Reincarnating?

Chapter 592 : It Seems Your Message Was Seen by Your Mom

"Is this... the right one?"

Ling Ning murmured to herself as she stood in front of the dormitory door.

Earlier, she had gone to the office but hadn’t found Bai Jie. After making a phone call, she learned that Bai Jie was in her dorm. Following the directions given, she made her way over. If Bai Jie's message had been correct, this should be the place.

Taking a deep breath, Ling Ning slowly rang the doorbell. The door opened shortly after, and seeing Bai Jie in her pajamas, Ling Ning quietly exhaled in relief.

"Good afternoon, Sister. I hope I didn’t disturb your nap?" Ling Ning asked softly.

"It’s fine. I just woke up since I don’t have any classes today. Come in—it’s so cold outside," Bai Jie said with a yawn, stepping aside to let her in.

As Ling Ning entered the dorm, she curiously glanced around. She noted that the layout was similar to Ye Xuan’s dorm, which made sense since both were faculty dorms.

After sitting down, Ling Ning smiled and asked, "Sister, have you been busy lately? I stopped by your house yesterday, but you weren’t there."

Bai Jie looked surprised. "You came to my house yesterday?"

"Yeah, I stayed over with Bai Yiyue."

As soon as she said it, Ling Ning regretted it. Bai Jie likely knew about her relationship with Bai Yiyue. Wouldn’t this lead to misunderstandings?

Sure enough, Bai Jie paused as she was pouring water, her mind briefly conjuring up some rather inappropriate scenarios. However, she quickly composed herself and placed a glass of water in front of Ling Ning.

"Is that so? I trust you two didn’t turn the house upside down?"

"Of course not!" Ling Ning laughed nervously.

An awkward silence settled between them. Ling Ning, unsure how to broach the subject she had originally come to discuss, decided to change the topic for now.

"So, Sister, what have you been busy with recently?"

"Oh, just some mundane tasks. They pile up and become quite the hassle," Bai Jie replied with a sigh.

She didn’t elaborate, but Ling Ning could sense her frustration. It wasn’t just the tasks—someone had been bothering her.

That "someone" was none other than Teacher Gao. Initially polite and professional, he had started using academic discussions as a pretext to flaunt his wealth. To Bai Jie, who could live a life of luxury without lifting a finger, such displays were laughable.

If it weren’t for her passion for teaching, she might have already resigned.

Noticing Bai Jie’s troubled expression, Ling Ning asked, "Sister, is something bothering you? You seem upset. If there’s anything troubling you, you can talk to me—I’m a great listener!"

Bai Jie couldn’t help but smile. "You little rascal, you really know everything, don’t you?"

Ling Ning chuckled and got up, moving behind Bai Jie. She placed her hands on Bai Jie’s shoulders and began to massage them gently. "Here, let’s see how my massage skills measure up."

"Mm~"

Bai Jie let out a soft hum of satisfaction, but she quickly realized how suggestive it sounded. She glanced back at Ling Ning, relieved to see no reaction, and let herself relax.

It had been a while since she’d enjoyed a good massage, and it felt incredibly soothing.

After the massage, Bai Jie finally asked, "So, Ling Ning, was there something you wanted to talk about?"

"Well, kind of, but it’s nothing urgent. By the way, Sister, would you like to grab lunch together? It’s already noon."

Bai Jie thought for a moment before nodding. "Sure, but let me change my clothes first."

"Take your time~"

While Bai Jie was changing, Ling Ning casually pulled out her phone and noticed a message from Bai Yiyue. It was about how much she enjoyed breakfast and included a teasing remark about her panties being as childish as ever.

Wait… panties?

For some inexplicable reason, Ling Ning felt an impulse to show this message to Bai Jie. After a moment’s deliberation, she quickly typed out a reply:

"It seems your message was seen by your mom. I don’t know what to do—you’ll have to explain it yourself."

Elsewhere, Bai Yiyue was lying on her bed, flipping through a magazine about Ling Ning. Feeling her phone vibrate, she eagerly picked it up, expecting a reply from Ling Ning.

But upon reading the message, she froze as if struck by a barrage of status effects.

"I’m ready. Let’s go, Ling Ning," Bai Jie’s voice interrupted her thoughts.

Ling Ning quickly put away her phone and smiled. "Okay, let’s go. But Sister, you really don’t look like Bai Yiyue’s mom~"

"Huh? Why do you say that?"

"Because you look so young! Like someone who just got married or is about to," Ling Ning replied cheerfully.

Hearing this, Bai Jie’s lips curled into a pleased smile. What woman wouldn’t like being complimented on her youth? Well, except maybe Mrs. Chen Ruo.

The two left the dormitory together. Ling Ning initially suggested eating off-campus, but Bai Jie opted for the nearby cafeteria instead.

After getting their meals and sitting down, they were about to start eating when a middle-aged man with a polished demeanor approached them.

"Teacher Bai, having lunch here today?" he asked with a friendly smile.
