Leaving the studio, the two made their way to the bustling streets. Ling Ning navigated the old town’s winding paths with ease, leading Su Ya to the area. The historical architecture surprised Su Ya. It was rare to find such places in the modernized city of S.
“This part of town hasn’t been redeveloped yet, though it’s supposed to start soon,” Ling Ning explained with a smile.
As they wandered, they arrived at an abandoned orphanage. Ling Ning stopped in her tracks, her eyes filled with nostalgia. She remembered her childhood days there with Bai Yiyue, memories that now felt both distant and vivid.
“Why did you stop?” Su Ya asked, puzzled.
“Nothing. Just feeling a bit nostalgic.”
“Nostalgic?”
As Su Ya pondered this, a thought struck her.
“Ling Ning, if I start interning at Mrs. Qin Qing’s place, I won’t be able to work at the café anymore, right?”

Caught off guard by the sudden change in topic, Ling Ning blinked. She often struggled to keep up with Su Ya’s leaps in logic. After a moment, she replied, “You’d just have to choose—café or company?”
“How do I decide?”
“You can balance both. The café and the company don’t require you to be there every day. Just adjust your schedule. Both are flexible, so you can go wherever you prefer.”

“You’re not an employee at the company. You’re going there to learn, not to work. Didn’t Chu Mengyao tell you that you can drop by anytime you’re free?”
