Chapter 431 : Am I Really Going Bent
“Huh!?”
Su Ya slowly opened her eyes and was greeted by an unfamiliar ceiling. Turning her head instinctively, she saw a beautiful girl lying beside her. Though the girl was covered by a blanket, it was obvious that she wasn’t wearing any clothes underneath!
Blinking in confusion, Su Ya took a moment to gather her thoughts and recall where she was and why.
She tried to sit up but quickly realized her arm was tightly held by Ling Ning, who had one leg draped over her as well. It felt like she was being used as a human pillow.
Su Ya sighed softly, a helpless smile forming on her lips. She reached out with her free hand to extricate herself from Ling Ning’s embrace but found it surprisingly firm. Any further movement risked waking her.
Resigned, Su Ya lay back down. It was unusual for someone like her, who loved to sleep in, to wake up this early. Perhaps it was because she had slept so well next to Ling Ning. Surprisingly, the quality of her sleep had been exceptional.
Turning her head slightly, Su Ya studied Ling Ning’s face. This was her first time observing her so closely. At such a short distance, she could see every detail, including Ling Ning’s long lashes.
At that moment, Ling Ning looked completely unguarded, like an innocent child. She seemed less mature and more like a girl of Su Ya’s own age—pure and genuine.
Reaching out gently, Su Ya smoothed a few stray locks of hair from Ling Ning’s face. Even without makeup, Ling Ning’s beauty was undeniable. While her makeup enhanced her charm and allure, her bare face had a refreshing, natural purity.
As her gaze fell to Ling Ning’s lips, Su Ya’s mind wandered back to the incident in the alley—their kiss. The strange sensation lingered vividly in her memory.
Just then, Ling Ning seemed to sense some dryness in her lips and licked them briefly with her tongue.
The sight of Ling Ning’s moist, glistening lips left Su Ya momentarily breathless. She found herself leaning closer, her lips just a centimeter away before she caught herself and stopped.
Biting her own lip, Su Ya silently wondered, Am I really getting bent? Ling Ning looked so enticing—unguarded and innocent. Su Ya felt like she would be missing out if she didn’t do something.
As Su Ya wrestled with her thoughts, Ling Ning stirred, her eyes fluttering open. She shifted slightly closer, unintentionally brushing her lips against Su Ya’s.
The soft touch jolted Su Ya’s senses. Her eyes widened in shock, and she held her breath.
The kiss was fleeting, like a dragonfly skimming the water.
Ling Ning smiled sleepily at Su Ya. “Good morning, Xiao Ya.”
“G-Good morning, Ling Ning.”
For reasons she couldn’t explain, Su Ya felt a pang of disappointment. She wished the kiss had lasted longer. The boldness of her own thoughts startled her. Am I… am I really bent now?
Ling Ning noticed the subtle change in Su Ya’s expression. Raising an eyebrow, she gave a playful smile and leaned closer. “Xiao Ya… could it be that you want to continue?”
“Eh!?”
“If you want, I won’t say no. But wouldn’t it be better if we freshened up first?”
Ling Ning teased, pulling back with a sly grin. She got out of bed and headed to the bathroom.
From outside, Su Ya could see Ling Ning brushing her teeth through the translucent bathroom glass. This girl is going to be the death of me, Su Ya thought, shaking her head. If this continued, she was sure she’d fall for Ling Ning completely.
Pushing the thoughts aside, Su Ya got dressed and moved to the window. The sky was bright and clear. If not for the puddles on the ground, she might have thought yesterday’s storm was just a dream.
“Xiao Ya, want to visit my place later?”
“Sure.”
Su Ya replied without hesitation. She was eager to see Ling Ning’s home and meet her sister. More than that, she wanted to understand what Ling Ning was like in her daily life.
Ling Ning was momentarily surprised by Su Ya’s quick response, but then she smiled and began changing clothes.
As she did, she noticed the lingerie she was still wearing from the night before. This is so embarrassing… She had forgotten to hang up her clothes to dry, leaving her no choice but to wear the same outfit again.
Oh well, she thought. No one’s going to see it anyway.
“Let’s grab breakfast first,” Ling Ning suggested cheerfully as they stepped out of the motel.
“Alright.”
Su Ya replied, tugging slightly at her skirt. Though it wasn’t particularly short, she still felt self-conscious.
They found a nearby breakfast spot and ate before heading to—of all places—a supermarket.
Watching Ling Ning push a shopping cart and select ingredients, Su Ya was initially puzzled. But remembering Ling Ning’s living situation, it made sense. A wave of curiosity washed over her. What kind of cook is Ling Ning?
Su Ya enjoyed watching others cook and sometimes spent hours watching cooking shows online. While her theoretical knowledge was strong, her practical skills were abysmal—her only attempt at cooking had nearly poisoned her.
“Why does it turn out so wrong even when I follow the instructions perfectly?” she wondered to herself again.
Ling Ning glanced back at Su Ya and smiled. Seeing her brought back memories of shopping together in her past life.
Su Ya had been full of advice when Ling Ning cooked but hopeless when it came to her own attempts—practically a champion of the dark culinary arts.
