Chapter 393 : Definitely a Bit Thrilling~
“That place... definitely has a bit of a thrilling vibe~”
The two of them were now seated in the cafeteria, reminiscing about what had just happened. Even Ling Ning couldn’t help but blush at the memory. Were college students these days really so bold? Doing that in that place...
“I told you not to go there!”
Luo Xiaoyu glared at Ling Ning. Earlier, when she had accompanied Ling Ning into the wooded area, it had seemed quiet and deserted. She had assumed that no one would be there since it was a holiday. What she hadn’t expected was that as soon as they ventured deeper into the grove, they’d stumble upon two girls at a pavilion doing... unspeakable things.
Although both were still fully dressed, the indescribable sounds coming from one of them made Luo Xiaoyu’s face turn bright red. Who would’ve thought someone would actually be doing that there?
During the school term, she often heard classmates talk about how the grove was a popular spot for couples. But this was the first time she had actually witnessed it for herself.
The most awkward part? The couple wasn’t a boy and a girl or even two boys, but two girls. If it had been any other combination, it might not have felt so embarrassing. Why did those two have to go to the grove of all places for their... activities?
“Well, how is that my fault? I only went in because you said it was a secluded place and not worth checking out. If you’d told me it was that kind of place, I wouldn’t have gone in at all~” Ling Ning said matter-of-factly.
“So, you’re blaming me now?”
“Of course.”
Hearing Ling Ning’s confident reply, Luo Xiaoyu felt no emotion. Instead, she imagined herself hitting Ling Ning with a flurry of punches. If this weren’t a public place, she would’ve already leapt over and torn that smug mouth of hers to pieces.
Speaking of mouths, Luo Xiaoyu’s mind drifted back to the image of the two girls kissing in the grove. Her eyes unconsciously landed on Ling Ning’s lips. What would it feel like to kiss those lips?
As soon as the thought crossed her mind, Luo Xiaoyu’s face turned beet red. Shaking her head furiously, she banished the impure thought from her mind. She wasn’t like her sister—she wouldn’t become that kind of person. If she did, her parents would surely lose their minds.
“What’s wrong?”
Lost in thought, Luo Xiaoyu suddenly caught a whiff of a pleasant scent. Turning her head, she realized that Ling Ning had somehow moved to sit right next to her and was staring at her curiously.
What made it worse was that Ling Ning’s tempting lips were now just inches away. Luo Xiaoyu couldn’t help but think that if she leaned forward just a little, she could—
“W-Why are you suddenly so close?!”
“I noticed your face turning red, and you were shaking your head and mumbling. I thought something was wrong~”
Seeing that Luo Xiaoyu was fine, Ling Ning leaned back lazily. She didn’t plan to return to her original seat—it was too much effort to get up and walk back.
After cursing her under her breath, Luo Xiaoyu sighed and asked, “What do you want to eat?”
“Anything is fine. Just get me whatever you think is good,” Ling Ning replied nonchalantly. It was her first time eating at this cafeteria, so she left the decision to the seasoned expert, Luo Xiaoyu.
Hearing this, Luo Xiaoyu flashed a mischievous smile. “Alright.”
After Luo Xiaoyu left, Ling Ning’s thoughts wandered to the two girls they had encountered in the grove. One of them looked oddly familiar, as if she’d seen her somewhere before. Though it was just a fleeting impression, the sense of familiarity lingered.
But no matter how much she thought about it, she couldn’t recall where she’d seen her.
While she was lost in thought, Luo Xiaoyu returned with a tray and set it down in front of Ling Ning. “Here’s yours. Go ahead and eat. I’ll get my own now.”
Looking at the food on the tray, Ling Ning felt something was off. It didn’t seem suspicious at first glance, but given Luo Xiaoyu’s earlier grin, Ling Ning couldn’t help but feel wary. Normally, Luo Xiaoyu would’ve made her get her own food, especially since she had a meal card.
A while later, Luo Xiaoyu returned with her own tray, only to find that Ling Ning’s meal remained untouched. “Why aren’t you eating?”
“Eating is something best done when everyone is present. Isn’t that proper etiquette?” Ling Ning said seriously.
Luo Xiaoyu nodded. That did seem reasonable.
“Hey, isn’t that your sister at the door?” Ling Ning said suddenly, pointing toward the cafeteria entrance.
Instinctively, Luo Xiaoyu turned to look. Seeing no sign of her sister, she realized she’d fallen for Ling Ning’s trick.
Turning back, she saw that her own tray was now in front of Ling Ning, while the suspicious tray she had prepared was now in front of her.
“Ling Ning, how could you stoop so low?”
Ling Ning feigned a sorrowful expression. “Actually... I suffer from a deadly allergy to cucumbers. When I saw cucumbers in my meal, I had no choice but to switch it out...”
“...”
For a moment, Luo Xiaoyu was speechless. How could someone be this shameless? Letting out a resigned sigh, she picked up her chopsticks. Even if she had to cry while eating, she would finish the food she’d gotten herself.
But when she dug into the rice, revealing a fiery red layer underneath, even Ling Ning, who could handle spicy food, felt a little intimidated. Surely even she couldn’t handle something like this.
Luo Xiaoyu stared blankly at her food, contemplating skipping the meal altogether. After all, she hadn’t tampered with the dishes. Just as she was thinking this, Ling Ning slid her tray over and swapped it with Luo Xiaoyu’s spicy meal.
“Take mine. I had a big breakfast, so I’m not that hungry. You didn’t mess with the dishes, did you?”
As she carefully picked at the food on the tray, Luo Xiaoyu couldn’t help but wonder if she’d made a mistake somewhere.
Seemingly unsatisfied with her own portion, Ling Ning reached over to Luo Xiaoyu’s tray and snatched a meatball. Seeing no reaction, she grabbed another one. And another.
Watching her beloved meatballs vanish, Luo Xiaoyu finally snapped. “That’s enough!”
“Ehe~”
