Chapter 361 : Why Sleep So Long While Alive
“Ling Ning, your tasks for today are complete!”
“Huh?”
Hearing Qin Qing’s words, Ling Ning was momentarily stunned. Last night, she had received a sudden call from Qin Qing asking her to come to the company early this morning.
As a result, she hadn’t even had time for breakfast before rushing over to the office, only to discover that after taking a set of photos, her work was already done. She didn’t know how to react.
Noticing Ling Ning’s puzzled expression, Qin Qing chuckled awkwardly. “Well~ we had a last-minute addition to the wardrobe and were in a hurry, so I had to call you in early. You know, I worked all night to get that outfit ready.”

Ling Ning nodded in understanding. However, no matter how she looked at it, Qin Qing didn’t seem like someone who had been up all night.
“After completing today’s photo shoot, you’ve basically finished most of your tasks for this period. Things should ease up for you a bit now, compared to the past few days.”
“Wow, the world of adults sure is ruthless.”
Seeing Qin Qing’s expression, Ling Ning felt that the “ease” mentioned was likely not the kind she was imagining.
“Alright, don’t look at me like that, as if I’m some kind of heartless boss exploiting her employees.”
“You are!” Ling Ning muttered under her breath.
Having spent so much time at the company recently, she was all too aware that the office staff outside were genuinely working harder than dogs and waking up earlier than roosters. The most unbelievable part was that they didn’t even complain and seemed to take pride in it. It defied all logic!
After some casual chats with her colleagues, Ling Ning learned that this was already considered far more relaxed compared to their previous workplace. She couldn’t even imagine how things were back then. If she had worked there, she’d probably have ascended to immortality by now.
“You’re free for the rest of the day. Go catch up on some sleep or do whatever you want. By the way, what were you saying just now?”
“I said, you’re the most kind-hearted boss ever! A shining example in the workplace! Having you as a boss is the greatest blessing for any employee’s lifetime…” Ling Ning fawned shamelessly.
Dignity? What dignity? Is it more important than a day off?
Qin Qing’s expression turned pleased, and she smiled as she said, “You sure talk a lot. Now hurry up and get lost. If you’re not interested in sleeping, I still need my beauty rest.” She yawned as she spoke. After pulling an all-nighter, her eyelids were practically glued shut.
“At your command!” Ling Ning gave a crisp salute, spun on her heels, and exited the office at lightning speed, afraid that Qin Qing might give her another task.
Watching Ling Ning’s retreating figure, Qin Qing felt both amused and exasperated. Did she really come across as a heartless boss exploiting her employees?

“Yo~ Xiao Ning, you seem to be in a good mood today~”
As soon as Ling Ning stepped out of the boss’s office, Fatty greeted her with a big grin. In this fast-paced environment, the highlight of his day, apart from dreaming about holidays, was chatting with the beautiful model, Ling Ning.
Of course, he had thought about courting her. However, judging by how things were going, that idea seemed almost laughably unrealistic.
First, there was the pressure from his boss. Every time he chatted with Ling Ning, if his boss was nearby, he’d be blasted with “eye-beam attacks.” Afterwards, he’d mysteriously find his workload had increased significantly.
Second, there was the girl herself. After observing her closely over time, Fatty realized she didn’t seem interested in men at all. Her gaze lingered mostly on her beautiful female colleagues. Based on these behaviors, he had already deduced Ling Ning’s likely orientation.
The thought that this beautiful model might be a lesbian made Fatty want to beat his chest in frustration. Such a lovely flower, and yet... sigh~
“In a good mood? Me? That must be your imagination, Fatty,” Ling Ning replied with a sweet smile. Truthfully, she was feeling quite cheerful. She was about to go out and have some fun to relieve the fatigue from the past few days of intense work.
Catch up on sleep? She wasn’t tired at all. And why waste life’s precious time sleeping? Wasn’t there a saying that went:
“Why sleep so long while alive? Eternal rest awaits in death.”

After exchanging greetings with the employees she encountered on the way, Ling Ning finally managed to get into the elevator and leave the company. Sometimes being too popular could be a hassle.
Standing outside the company, Ling Ning pondered her plans for the day.
If she went shopping, there didn’t seem to be anything she particularly needed to buy. Karaoke alone sounded boring. She wasn’t in the mood for gaming at an internet café. After some thought, the only option seemed to be heading home to rest.
Just as Ling Ning decided to go home, she noticed a familiar figure.
“Li Qian?” Ling Ning frowned. No, this person had a similar build and style to Li Qian, but something felt off. This must be Li Qian’s twin sister, Li Meng.
What was Li Meng doing here alone? If she remembered correctly, their home was quite far from this area.
“Hey, Li Meng~”
Hearing someone call her name, Li Meng turned her head in confusion, only to see Ling Ning standing behind her with a smile.
“Ling... Ling Ning?”
Li Meng was surprised to see Ling Ning here.
“It’s been a while since we last met, hasn’t it?”
“That’s because my parents recently took my sister and me back to our hometown for their vacation. We stayed there for a while and only returned recently...” Li Meng explained.
“Oh~ I see. So, are you out shopping by yourself today?” Ling Ning asked curiously, as there was a shopping street nearby that most people in this area visited for that purpose.
“I came here actually…”
